Goal : Work on weedy flower beds

Good coffee in am.  It was a pretty day and I did get some flower beds cleaned, but the rototiller quit.  Uffta!! And on one of the days I needed it most.  I spent most of am outside and texted Phillip about possible help with tiller.  He came and looked at it with us.  At 1:30 I went to Bomgaars to look for a spring. (It did not solve the problem.)  Study at Ginny's, then I went home and the zinnia and lisianthus plugs had arrived.  I texted and Eileen and Joel came to get their plants.  Such a great night for sitting and visiting on the deck.  After they left, I planted 2 rows of zinnias and tied Keelie out by the garden.  It makes me SO mad that the bunnies are eating my flowers.  NO, wait a minute... they are not eating them ... they just bite the stem off and leave it.  AND they are not out during the day, just at night.  Denny did see one a couple days ago and got his gun, but missed the varmit.

A back plan

I headed to Missy's alittle after 7.  The plan was to work on her photo/school paper albums.  I took kids to school and then we got to work.  We worked until 1 and got the kids' book pretty well caught up.  Fun to look at pictures and papers.  Denny's appointment was at 1:45 and we had instructions to be 20 minutes early.  We finally got to see Dr. Meyer at 3.  Uffta!!! loooooong wait.  Good news, it should be fixable.  When he heard Denny was registered for RAGBAI he looked at his schedule and fit Denny in.  At home we took a look at the mower that Phillip had loaded on the trailer, we couldn't solve the problem and so I drove it down to Denison to get fixed at Volmer repair.  I stopped and ordered take out Chinese for supper at home.  At 6:30 I headed to the Senior OABCIG scholarship program.  There is a lot of money given out to Seniors.  Missy and family came over to make a place for their photo albums.

Mowing madness

Up and fixed Denny breakfast before going to the OGT.  Worked there until 12.  At Bomgaars I got 10 bags of mulch.  At home Denny said to mow the lawn.  I spent about 2 hours.  I did not mow up to the ever green trees.  Next I started to spread mulch.  Denny noticed that a hose on the mower was leaking.  I kept weeding and working on mulch.  Denny got his animal camera delivered, investigated and set up ... and yes a big bunny is out at night in my flowers.  Darn Critters!!! At 6:30 I met the girls and rode to Denison for gymnastics.  Good practice for the recital.  When I got home I went straight to bed.  Not a fun day mowing.   Picture is of recital routine, the girls were in motion.  Hopefully, they will be doing the movements together at the recital. It looked pretty good.

Jack Day

Missy dropped the 3 Grands off at our place because she was taking a class in SC and going to head out early.  Denny will drop the 3 off at school and pick them up after  school.  I headed north to Cherokee.  Fun day with Jack.  I got a cool wall saying from Cooks.  Brooks took about 7 steps on his own.  He was standing along side the bed where I was folding clothes and he took steps to lean up against the dresser.  Then he sat on my leg and stood and walked 7 steps into the room.  SO CUTE!!!  He slept about 2 hours in the morning and in the afternoon he fell asleep on me reclining on the sofa.  After his afternoon nap he seemed a little warm.  I took his temp 101.3,  Texted Mandy and found out where the Motrin was for him.  Jan came over for about an hour; nice visit.  At home I picked asparagus, warmed up some supper and chilled with Denny.  Fun day!!

Happy Mother's Day!!!

Miss our Moms ...

Denny was still hurting and so he stayed home this morning.  I started by eating most of the bag of milk chocolate covered coffee beans.  YUM!!!  I went to SS and church.  Birthday celebration of 80 year of neighbor Janet M.   Kara gave me a ticket to the dance recital in Holstein.  I took a quick nap after I got home and went to the recital.  It was fun to watch Kennedy, Tatum, Dausel twins, Jaylee, Ashlyn, and all the girls.  Denny rested all afternoon.  I picked up supper at Zimmy's.  I read the book Answer the Call by Dr. Meyer.  Great story of Tanzania/ 3 injured children survivors of bus accident that killed 33/SC/ Dr. Meyer/ Franklin Graham/ King.  Nice phone calls from my children.   I started to clean the airbnb.

Sarah's party

I went in to help with OGT about 8:30.  Brooks' soccer at 11:20.  Denny walked the "block"  to the field and really was uncomfortable the rest of the day.  I came home and fixed us hamburgers for lunch.  I set out plants for Sarah and took a couple hour nap.  At 5 I went to Brenda's and helped serve the bundt cake lunch.  For Mother's Day Jensens came over for supper.  Phillip grilled brats and fixed asparagus and rice.  Tomorrow they are going to the Palmer Church.  It is always so good to visit and spend time with them.   Taste test for the best year!!!

Denny home

Denny didn't take any Tramadol today.  He was home all day, just chilling.  In am I put together my first flower arrangement of the year.  :)   I went to orphan grain train from 8-11.  (You can see the room full of bags of clothes that we have job security.)  6 seniors came to help as a senior service project.  12 people from Manilla came to help also.   Denny talked to Curtis today and they got done planting corn and beans about 1 am today.  Denny stopped planting about noon yesterday.  Denny said," Those Larsons, they work hard."  I came home and fixed browned beef and onions and guacamole for lunch.  I went to Brooks PE day.  They had 3 activity groups that parents and Grands watched from the bleachers.  Cute picture of Brooks and his teacher.  On the way home I stopped at Brenda's for a couple hours and washed windows and cut up carrots and celery.   Two Air bnb'er families are coming tonight.  As we watched the 6 pm news tonight, Dr. Meyer, who Denny is seeing Wednesday tells of a book he wrote sharing all of God's miracles with the 3 Tanzania girls who came to SC after a bus crash.
Baby Jack got a new big boy toddler haircut today.  So cute!!!!    ...  but kinda sad, too.
