One down, two to go in this week
Awake and walked 3.25 miles. But it took me an hour. UFFTA!!! At school, I read a math test to a student and we made 3,2,1 cake in testing time for Ind . Living. Brand new kitties.
Memorial Day
Up and walked 3.25 miles. Keelie is so happy to have me walk. She is so excited and runs around in small circles. I picked some asparagus and soaked it before heading to school. Three students took ind living test. They fixed 3,2,1 cake and watched the movie again when they were done with the tests.
Memorial Day. Thank you veterans!!!
I walked 3.25 miles this am. Denny caught up on his sleep after driving to Colorado. About 4 we took the motorcycle to IG. Then to Holstein to see the Flags. A storm was coming and so we high tailed it to Arthur where we left the trailer. In the way home we stopped to see the 7 new kitties

Onward to Denver Congratulations Joe!!
Congrats to Joe!!! We left Ogalala about 8 and got to Youslings about noon. Very nice graduation party. They were glad to see Denny. Diane served Joe's favorite pasta and Afredo and Prego. Many nice guests. Great to have the four Johnson siblings together and 3 Youslings siblings together. And Joe with his siblings. We headed east at 5 Central time and stayed in York when we got there at 11. We plan to go to Lincoln church tomorrow. Rory is teaching there. It sounds like Anabel had a great dress rehersal with Matt, Haley, Mandy, Jason, Laurie, and Alan there.

Last regular day at school
First regular day of school ...
January 1956. (It might have been February). I started kindergarten in the middle of the year, close to my birthday. It was snowy so I had on a warm flannel shirt. Also, I got to sit on a 2x8 piece of wood, so I was not sitting on the cold snowy step. Very cute crossed ankles.
I love the stretched out cotton socks and Mary Jane shoes. I guess the time was not close to Easter when we got new socks (and underwear) in our Easter basket,
When I started school, both Keith and Jean were in the picture, hence the lowered door knob. It was probably a thread spool that Dad put on the door at our level. I never noticed that before.
Who would have thought that in May 2016 I am headed to my last day of regular school????
Last day of regular school ..... without the perfectly cut (short) straight bangs and the innocent sweet look.
Though my hair does continue to look like I just got out of bed.
Definately, the board was bigger when I was 5.
Now my last day was a regular day. I changed a student's math class for next year. One student took semester tests early. English students wrote about Doritos commercial and got a small bag. Indep living class fixed chicken patties and laughed that I had Doritos for them .... Because Ron Clark had a rule out lawing them in his Esss 55 book. That is funny! We finished watching that movie. After school was a party for the C's who ARE retiring after a total of 65 years between them. Finish packing at home.
We left about 5:45 to drive to Denver. Now we are driving about 45 mph thru a bad rain storm. We made a reservation in Ogallala for tonight. Uffta. Lord, continue to give us a safe trip
Laurie and Alan are at the farm for Anabel's dress rehearsal. Missouri Johnsons are at Kingsley. Anabel has been running a temp. Phillip took her to the doctor, nothing showed up on the blood work. Luke is running a half in Tennessee ?? Mandy and Jason are running a half at Grandma's and staying with Siches. Fun weekend for everyone.
This week we heard that Lynn B has been continuing to battle cancer. Lord, please be with her and her family. Wow, what a shocker. I take so much for granted. She has been a great help to the resource room and the students.

Put the flags up
Up and out early
In IG about by 7. There were about 30 adults and 30 kids that put flags around the Skate Palace pond
Beautiful morning Shiela fixed a great egg casserole and cinnamon rolls for everyone when it was done
I got a folding chair at Dose. At the doctor's office I made the next appointment in two weeks.
I talked to Denny after 4. The mower is fixed, so I headed to Denison to get it.
Denny went to the doctor. He has verticulitus . He got a couple antibiotics that hopefully will take effect before we head west tomorrow
Those 486 flags are just drop dead beautiful. What a great way to start a day!!

Cagney
Quite the dog. Cagney. Since Naka's left she has been roaming. So first Denny got a cord and tied it up one night. By morning the cord was chewed. Next a metal cable held Cagney overnight. It is tethered in the grove behind the picket fence. The dog jumps straight up. This am when I looked out the sunroom window beyond the picket fence, Cagney saw me. The second pictures shows the dog jumping higher than the fence. Look closely ... Cagney is parallel to the left of the electrical pole. Crazy dog. We picked up Evan and Anabel for donuts. After church, naps. Denny finished fixing the wiring on the trailer. Then he started washing the Prius. All afternoon. He washed the windows more than he ever has in his life. He said 2 things were great this weekend. The great job he has done on cleaning the car and the pork chops he made Friday night. About 5:30 we headed to Bailey's Graduation party. So great to see Logan, Talia, and Ivan. At home, I planted all the plants that were in the greenhouse. Plus, I put some seeds in the ground. Bells of Ireland and Teddy sunflowers. I put them in the ground with the top of the plastic container around where I put the seeds. Denny ironed his shirts while we watched a movie. Flicka 3. Oh, I just remembered I have asparagus to pick.

A great day waiting Happy Birthday Denny!!!
Really early start with Denny fixing his cheesey eggs for everyone. He left for work, but before he left I gave him the clock that Mandy bought for me in Cherokee. Since my clock broke, Denny has not been able to read the small digital numbers at night. Happy Birthday Denny!! Such an important, meaningful gift from me. Later in the morning, the rest of us ate out on the deck. Eggs, cantaloupe, pineapple, and sliced cinnamon rolls. The biggest thing for me was that Mandy helped me put an extension on the wisteria trellis. I don't think I could have done it by myself. Thanks, Mandy!!! So much. After lunch we drove into town to get wiring for trailer. I went to a Cherry Creek farm and we ordered another book blog. Thanks, Missy for sharing your 20% off coupon. About 5 we headed to Olivia's graduation party at the Chalet. It was so cute one of the teacher's 4 year old daughter was covering her heart as she walked to the chalet. She was so enthralled with visiting such a magical place. I kinda felt the same way. It was really pretty there. This has been a great day!! So nice to have Megan and Jordan here. They are welcome any time.
Nice Facetime with Luke before going to bed.

After school I headed to the grocery store, then home. YEA!! I went to Missy's to take rhubarb dessert out of oven . Jordan, Megan, Mandy and Jason got here about. 6:30. Great time. We toured and looked around outside, We drove to the windmill sites. At Jensen's they gave us a tour of buildings, etc. Back home, I served bisquick sausage balls, deep fried cauliflower, and salsa and guacamole. Denny fixed the best stuffed pork chops, ever. Plus tossed salad, wild rice on the side, and dilled carrots. We had a sample of Jordan's addition to the meal. We ate the rhubarb dessert out in the coop. Everyone wished Denny a Happy Birthday before going to bed in the basement. Great night!! So much fun!!

Thursday ... and didn't stay after school.
I took some airborne during the night to help with my cold. Denny was up early for a meeting. I got to school early and got some books moved. Maybe the salad at lunch was not the best idea. I slipped in front of one of the sweetest girls and one of the meanest guys. Guess that is my life. We went to the grocery store to get buns for the meat donated by the pork and beef producers. I got blue paint for the flowers pots on the deck. I need to take some other things home tonight. It looks like a beautiful day outside. I wish my lisianthus would come. I have a lot of planting to do. At home, Denny and walked around the garden. and sat on the deck, and chilled I planted flowers in the pots on the deck. Denny worked on supper for Friday night. We carried table from machine shed up to the sunroom. 8 fit easily around it.

Scholarships 2016
Regular day at school. Ind . Liv mixed up the pizza dough yesterday and put toppings on today and put the pizzas in the refrigerator. I stopped at home before heading to Prairie Pedlar. The plant I wanted to get identified was the Wall flower or Cheiranthusus. It sounds like it is a biannual, and I have not worked with them very much. I got 2 succulents, and 6 plants for pots on the deck. A bright pink geranium, (I usually don't buy them). My favorite bright pink New Guiney impatient with dark foliage and a blue petunia that should drape over the pot as it grows. At home, I ate a quick bite and went to the Senior Award ceremony. 45 Scholarships were given in Dollars for Scholars. The DFS totalled $158,000. Plus a lot of community scholarships. At home, I picked asparagus and washed it in the sink.
OABCIG High School Principal Pat Miller reported that 46 graduates earned local scholarships totaling $358,885, of which some $158,295 came from the 22-year-old OABCIG Dollars for Scholars fund started by the late Whitey Thompson.

Party in the park
Lord, may it be a warm day for meeting at the park. Help the plans to go smoothly. Regular day at school. Pushed the exit button for one of the students. Wrote an email thank you to Kevin, also asking him if I need a document for HS. Ind. Living made dough for pizza. There was a vote on cakes created by nutrition and foods class. Looked up Houdini on you tube. After school we went to the park about 3:45. Amelia had set the table. They played UNO on one picnic table. Emily and 10 girls were there. Amelia, Jenna, Sarah, Grace, Alyssa, Dakota, Amy, Makayla, Mally, Leah, The weather was great! Thank you, Jesus. They each shared a thought/verse with Emily at the end. I took her home. Then back to IG for meeting with Home School. I also went to visitation for Kasey's mom before the 7 pm meeting in the library. Denny mowed with the Dixon while I was in town.

Lots to do today, it seems
Devotions in bed. Hopefully, Denny is feeling better today. Regular day at school. There was stress looking at cards of different fabrics. Made more plans for Park Party. At 3 I had 2 IEPs. At home I made a card for Kasey. I got an email from Kevin reassuring me that June would raise the benefit. We ate a jar of salad for supper. It had not set well with Denny at lunch time. The salad was okay for us at supper, so maybe Denny had a bug. I sat and tried to figure out Alg 1A. It is hard for me. Then I went outside and watered down the Preen. Denny bought a cable to tether Cagney. She barked most of the night. We started to watch a movie out by the CSA and finished it in bed. I looked at Alg again before going asleep.
Aileen's birthday today. These 2 love her very much
