Wonderful slow morning. I had been sleeping since 7 pm, woke up at 130. took a nyquil, listened to DAB and went back to sleep until 9L30 Ufdda!! That's a long time for me. Now Coffee, Fox news, make pies, work on soil for tulips. Go into IG to wash Prius.
Boys kept busy all day. Me, too. We made cranberry crunch, 2 egg casseroles, They played outside a lot. Denny drove to IG to wash the pick up. We met Mandy in Holstein to deliver the boys.
We left about 9 for the boy's program. It was really cute!! Boys did a great job. After the service they had a soup meal. The boys came home with us for the night.
So thankful God put the 2 you together!!
I took the boys to school and went to volunteer at Alta. I met Denny for his Hearing aide appointment. We shopped groceries and spent over 300 Uffda!! We picked up the boys at 1 and went to Sanford Museum. I bet we were there for over an hour. After we returned the boys home, Denny and I headed home. I stopped at Christina's and the Home shed.
I went to play pb at 8:30 and then met Denny for his Dermatology appointment. Around 3 we headed to watch the boys while Mandy and Jason went to Storm Lake. It was fun to see the kind way they play together and many creative things they do.
Craig and Sue invited us to eat at Stoke'd, a pizza place in Lake view. We met a their place and visited and then drove to eat. Nice place. We ran into Cindy J and Brit and Dan and made palns for pickleball tomorrow. Missy had the KICS Christmas get together today..Evan helped with it. All the staff enjoyed getting together.
I volunteered from 9-12 and then went to Shiela and ordered cinnamon rolls. I met Susan for lunch at the Farmacy. Denny cut off the legs of 2 chairs that were taller than regular chairs. He moved the tools that he used to the garage. We moved the LR coffee table to the basement. I added leaves to the table. Nice phone call from Sherry tonight. Beautiful sunset!!
I headed north around 8 and spent the day volunteering at Olive Branch. Nice bunch of gals!! They thought they might be short handed and so I stayed until they opened at 4-7. Carol T came and picked up 2 shelves/ book cases. It was great to visit with Carol and Judd. I headed to Storm Lake to look at riegtigerators at Melanders. I called Denny while I drove there, he said he fixed outs. YES!! I turned around. and went back to help. Eve and I were the only ones there at noon and we made a management decision and moved at table to replace a table filled with Christmas items. We used that table to hold clearance items. (Hoping for a miracle growth of eyelashes. haha)
Well, I had to reset my alarm clock last night ... And I reset it wrong. SO it was actually an hour earlier than I thought. Uffda!! During church we had the children program. It was so nice. The high schoolers served chili and cinnamon rolls for lunch and we had the annual church business meeting. I played pickkleball at the rec from 5-7. So much fun!!! Denny picked out movies for us to watch. luke and Karen called. It was so nice to talk to them.
Beautiful snowy morning. Denny did a lot of figuring and pondering and deciding. And we went to IG to Bomgaars. He was so happy not to have decide which of the impact wrenches he should get ... HE JUST GOT BOTH ... When we got home he started on moving the wires/ plug in from the hall-to -the-basement to the good coat closet. I watched tv.
We set the alarm, so we could get Laura to Moville. She is going to her granddaughter's graduation from nursing school. We went to SC afterwards where Denny got a haircut. I looked around Kohls and Michaels and Bath and Beyond. We headed back to IG. At night we watched tv. Denny started to figure out how much he wanted an impact Wrench. These are hard choices.
I felt we got quite a bit done today. All the presents that we have ... have been wrapped. Sue texted tonight and said they are heading back to IG. They have had a good time and purchased Butch and Bonnie's place. We watched the news and chilled in front of the tv. During study Sue got light headed and went to lie down while we finished the study/ prayer time. I stopped at Brenners to check out the used refrigerators. They have some $300-$900 with no ice makers ( + $150) We kinda decided we didn't need a really big refrigerator. Sue and Craig bought a place at 4 Seasons.
I headed to Alta little after 8 and got back home about 5 ish. It's kinda fun to put out stuff for sale. I suggested the idea of putting the rolling drawers under the discount table to hold more items that have been in the store for 60 days. I think it worked ok.
I was up and heading to OGT. We ate at the bowling alley. What a treat!! Someone volunteered to buy all of our lunches. Denny and I got shovels at Bomgaars and stuff at Dollar Gen. After we got home we printed the rest of the Christmas letters. Denny went down to the machine shed and got some tools ready to take to Texas.
It was a slow day. Looked cold outside. I sat in the brown recliner most of the day. I made up our Christmas Letter. Denny paid some bills.
Merry Christmas 2025, We are very thankful to God, pretty healthy, and getting older. (Getting older is a praise when we have health and thankfulness.) The “Grands” help make our year “Grand”, though it seems we never get enough time to spend with family. We think it’s cold up north, but we are happy to be here ‘cause it is our turn to have our families for Christmas… here …at the farm …together. With all that is going on around the world, it is good to know the earth is not our home. We look forward to our family coming home… but even more we look expectantly to our heavenly homecoming.

Up and hanging out in the breakfast area. The roads were fine until when we were west of I35. Uffda!! and now they are packed and snow covered. Denny has counted 13 cars in the ditches. Listening to lots of good music!!! We left about 11 and should get home before 4. About a 4 hour drive

Jean and I went down to Nancy's to help her get on her boot. Instead of a sisters' call we met in the breakfast area. Mandy and Jason went out for a run. Kids enjoyed the water park. The food that Keith and Gail got was amazing. Lots of it. For the gift exchange Denny got 2 gift card for DQ, I got solar lights for Brownsville deck. Lots of nice visiting. Denny and I napped from 4-5. Cooks ordered Jimmy Johns and we went to the waterpark/ hot tub for a while. I kinda have a cold and wasn't feeling 100%. Mandy and Jason went to Diamond Jacks and we slept with the door open.
Cherokee hearing appointment. Lisa J. is a visitor... talks a lot. I visited several Rural Rambling shops while Denny met with her. Denny had found the car/laptop plug in so I could zoom my bfs study as we drove across the state to Dubuque. They laughed at me always being in the car. On the way there Luke called to say roads were bad and they were turning around after sliding around a couple of times. UFFDA!!! A kind "Craig employee" canceled our room as we drove across the state. Lord, guide the rest of our family as we travel. Barb got to Dubuque from Grand Rapids, a 6-7 hour drive. I sat with them for supper. I may even learn the kids names. (Jezzo, Toco, Tulandy Tandi) There were 53 of us at Grand Harbor. Our room is joined with Cooks. They headed to casino while Denny and I slept and "watched" the boys with the door open between us.
