Luke and karen arrive!!!

I was up and working on getting food ready for the arrival of family.  Denny and I headed to Charro Days parade about 11.  $20 to park  $10 for 2 folding chairs.  Denny could take the heat of the sun.  me, not so much. It was too hot for me.  In fact 2 times I really left woozy when I stood up.  Uffda!!  The traffic was awful as we headed back to 4 seasons.  Luke's crew came soon after we got there.  They didn't eat very much at all.  They did take to RC boats to the lower rasaca. I wasn't feeling the best and so Denny cleaned up the kitchen while I went back to the bedroom. About 8 we went to SPI.  Wonderful place that Peter has gotten on the island. 

Every marriage starts with the words, "I do", but all lasting marriages are filled with countless, daily "I dos". To choose to truly love, we must choose "I do" in the day-to-day interactions of life.

I do...make you a priority.     I do...speak to you kindly.     I do...practice integrity when you're not around.     I do...honor you.     I do...make time for you.     I do...stop and listen to you.     I do...forgive.     I do...choose to never give up.     I do...choose put my phone down and have a real conversation with you.

This list could go on forever. Healthy marriage is filled with a lifetime of love as demonstrated through actions.     Feelings of love are great, and words expressing love are romantic. But make sure your feelings and words of love are always supported by actions of love.     Choose "I do" fiercely,

hot water heater

I was up early and then had coffee at Gail's.  I spent most of the am working on bsf.  zoom at 12.  pool 1-3 we had Brenda and Doug over for sunset on the deck.  TV/rest in bed.  Nice day!!

Horse races

 I was up during the night.  like 2-5, and so I got up again about 8.  Pickleball 9:15-10 And then Arlen and I went to see Jean.  until 12:45.   She napped before OPTH and we headed home.  I went to the pool 1-3 Human horse races 3-5.  I stopped at Craig and Sue's to use up the rest of the mules. TV with Nancy.  Denny is not feeling the best.

Thank you, Jesus for 75 years

Shower and Devo.  Gail came over in her robe to say HB.  Jensens called from N. So nice to visit with them.  Black Friday.  Pool. 2:25 at DQ for slice of ice cream cake.  Out to eat at 5L30.   Mederie???   Feb verse kinda echos this text,  First Corinthians 16:13-14. Be on your guard.  Stand firm in the faith.  Be courageous, Be strong  Do everything in love.  Denny and I went to Meriarie for  a wonderful meal.  

Am visit with Jean

 Nancy and I went to see Jean about 8 am.  She stayed with Jean all day.  I came home by way of Texas thrift (green shoes, white hat), Filled up 8 jugs at the water fill area, and DQ.  Making possible plans for park tomorrow afternoon.  Nancy and Arlen came home around 5:30.  We had fixed a great meal of shrimp, filet Mignon, rice, salad.  YUM!! but we had to eat too fast with the comedian at the park from 7-9.  Listened to State of the union address.  Lord, guide our plans.  

Visiting Jean

 Gail and I got to Texas Rehabilty Hospital about 8:30. It really looks like a good place.  Lots of spacious halls, lots of windows, lots of shiny floors.  I sprayed off my broken support for a tarp.  At 12 I went to play girls golf.  Sue, Jean H. and Mary Kay were our foursome.  We were happy shooting a 35 ... but came in last place.  the other 2 foursomes shot a 34.  Uffda!! C and C wings afterwards.  At night Denny and I watched tv and Nancy went to C&C with Hendersons.

We went to the 9:30 service, Then to the beach,  AND WEL L ...   Ever the scrounger.  There was a support for a bach tarp that some one left when the wind broke 2 of the 4 legs.  So I struggled for about an hour folding it up to take home.  All the while Denny was say8ing   Put that in the garbage.  Uffda!!  The lengths I go in pursuit of a hidden treasure.  Then I went to the paint class at LoboDel Mar and Denny went to Walmarts.  Fun Class!!  We had a quick nap and went to the hall for Margarita.  We stopped at Arlen''s for a quick update.  tv and to bed.  

Mystery Wedding

I played PB in am.  It was humid and warm.  At 1 we walked down to Craig and Su's and the walked to the hall with them at 1:30.  Very fun afternoon and everyone one looked so good.  I came home rested until Nancy said that Fay came over and brought sweet corn.  SO I boiled it and invited Sue, Craig, Gloria,and John over for corn.  Yummy.  

Charo Days get together.

 Kinda lazy am. I took girls to see Jean in the hospital.  I called Kathy as I drove home and we decided to go to the Market.  Fun morning.  We shopped little and I went to the car and was on the bfs zoom call until the laptop battery went dead.  On the last stop of the day we found a narrow aqua belt for her Charro dress.   Denny and I picked up Joyce, and Kathy R about 4:15.  The party was very [retty with the twirling skirts for fancy dancers.  

Katie and Beth

  I played PB and around 9:15 Gail and I headed to Harlingen to pick up Katie and Beth at the airport.  We drove to Valley Baptist and had a short visit with Jean.  She is in ICU.  She could be moved to regular room, but there are 11 people in ER and they would have first priority for a room, so she remains where there is  more care, which may be a good thing.  Gail went with Bruce and Bev and Jim to SPI to dance.  I rode with Denny to mail a package,   We had the Schrums and Bruce and Gloria over for supper.  Denny swore at me for not having butter with the fresh bread.  Lord, Grant me wisdom.  

Happy Anniversary, Luke and Karen111

This is the day the Lord has made.

I was planning to go to Black Friday with Bev.  As I was getting ready to get in the car Gail came and said Jean is not well.  I went down to her and Arlen, Gail and I got Jean in the car.  The was continue, but not responsive.  They took Jean to Valley Baptist and I followed them to ER.  She was seen by a doctor and had a lot of tests done.  We headed back to the park little after noon.  I redid the clubhouse painting in the afternoon.  Denny went fishing at dusk. k Didn't catch anything.  Gail and I went to Black Friday.  Only a few tables left with stuff.  

Mexico with Reals

Kinda slow until we left about 9:30 for Progresso. Fun Day  !!!  Denny got a Charro shirt and so I got a matching Charro dress.  We got pedicures, I got 6 aqua glasses.  We ate on 4th floor Arizona restaurant and bar.  After we got home and chilled, Denny helped Jackie with her email and phone.  

 

Early Thrifting.

My alarm was set for 6, Gail changed the time for thrifting.  Sue, Gail, Bev and I went to Texas Thrift.  $20 worth of stuff.  2 shirts for Nancy and an auction tray for Nancy's walker.  Back at the park we had show and tell and I played pickleball.  Valentine Dinner tonight.  

Cooks head north.

I made all the waffle mix.   Denny took them to the Brownsville Airport at 8.  Megan E. came over and we talked about flowers.  So cool.  She raises them in Canada.  Many nice pictures and conversations.  We watched AEF service.  the ScrambleGolf day started at 11. Denny took pictures, Gail, Bruce, Arlen and I were one of the 9 foursomes. We got first with 4 under par.  They used a couple of my shots.  Fun playing.  

 

At the Park

Denny ate breakfast with the boys.  Mandy, Jason, Bruce and I played PB.  It was so fun!!  Next destination --- Zoo  Great time.  Missed seeing the sloth.  Saw lots of everything.  Next destination ----Trampoline park.    At home the boys washed the shells and then we delivered rocks and shells to neighbors.  We went to C&C for super.  Oh, my, it was a long wait.  We played 7 cards.  It was really fun!!  Tyler fell asleep on Jason. and Jack was just waiting/ cool patient for really a long time.   After we got back to the park, Tyler went to bed and the rest came down to 407 with dirty sheet.  

Beach

 Fixed sandwiches for lunch.  Mandy and Jason took Bruce's car and Boys rode with us to Isla Blanca.  Whole day there.  Home and Mandy and Jason bought meat at Carneria.  Yum!!  Boys were playing Go Fish with Bruce and painting stones with Nancy.    

Horse races

I went down and sat by#92, the boys came out and Jason fixed waffles for them.  At 9 we went down to play PB.  It was perfect with Bruce, Bruce, Gail, Sue Craig, Jason, Miranda Londa and me.  So fun!! Such good games.  Laurie gave the boys food for the turtles.  They ran remote control boats in the rascal.   We had lasagne for lunch.  We spent time at the pool.  We fed turtles.  We took the boats to the lower rascal and spent a lot of time.  At 3 Denny and Mike G. MC'ed the horse races.   We had hamburgers for supper.  AND waffle cones afterwards.  

Cooks come today

 Up for devo.  Pickleball. Black Friday with Bev, Joan, Jean, and Sue.  There were about 100 at th brisket happy hour at Pat and Mark's.  Denny bought a chair from Gary C/  He went to pick up Cooks at the airport at 9:30 pm.  They came back to 92 to unload.  Mandy tossed the boys a bundle of clothes and told theme to put on their pjs.  Instead it was their swimming suits.  To the pool they went.  Thank you , Jesus for the Cooks coming to Texas.  

Visit with Kathy

 Pickleball at 8-10. Clean and put away pirate stuff.  Nancy went to lunch with the ladies.  We cleaned, DeDe did the floors in Nancy's room.  I went to the pool for about an hour.  Barb and Scott stopped for a short visit.  Denny ordered pizza and we took it to Reals.  Lord, please answer the call of my heart.  Looking forward to Cooks coming tomorrow.  

                                                                 

Denny fishing

 I had gotten us and read my devo from 2-3 am and then went back to bed.  I didn't hear Denny get up at 5:30 to go fishing.  Sue knocked on the door about 7:30. Luckily she came to get me up before pickleball.  I played about 2 hours.  I went to the pool for about 2 hours.  At 3 Bev and I went to SPI.  We met Denny, Merle, Bruce, Brad and Jerry at Port Isabel.  At home we chilled and I watched a movie Tyson's run.  

Painting

Slow morning.  I got a text from BB saying I could be in the art class.  YES!!!  We went to church at Chapel.  We went to the beach for about a half an hour and then to Lobo del Mar.  It was a fun class. Denny went to make a Walmart Run.  After painting we had some nachos out by the bay and talked to Luke on the Phone.  At home we watched the Super Bowl and the all a\American Halftime.  Another good day in the Valley.

Fun Week banquet

I have been waking up with a very sore neck.   I think I am going to use a different pillow.  Uffda!!   I went with Gail and Bruce over to their church's garage sale.  I got stuff for Craig and Sue.  At the park we practiced for the skit at 4.  I went to the pool.  At 3 I went to then hall.  Our skit went ok.  My part .. not so hot.  My wig kept falling off.  The treasure chest I filled with gold gottertulle spilled all the candy out. Uffda!!  Next ws the awards ceremony.  Denny came home with a first place in darts, I got first in Ponytail and second in horseshoes and second in pickleball.  About the time our food came, Craig and Sue got to the park.  I stopped by and greeted them with TexMex.  I had a great visit with Sandy.  Denny stayed at the dance.  Allen did the chicken dance very well.  Shakee your bootie!!
