Chilling

I walked to the bus with Kane and then Haley and TJ.  We had a great egg bake breakfast.  We all spent a lot of the day holding Tyler.  What a treat that is!!  Mandy and Becky went to Savannah to look at horse panels for the floor of Mandy's exercise place.  Missy and Matt ran about 3 miles while I happily held a sleeping Tyler.  In the afternoon Becky fixed supper and she and I fixed sugar coated pecans.  SO GOOD!!! At 5:30 Kane had a football game.  It was a beautiful evening to spend outside.
We stopped at Brothers after the game.  BOTH Uncle Matt and Aunt Missy changing diapers.

We met Kane as he got off the school bus.

Savannah

Great day ... It was so nice and relaxing.  SO NICE!!  We all took turns holding baby Tyler and playing with baby Jack.  As the family went outside: Mandy, Missy and Haley did a workout. Becky brushed horses.  Boys rode bikes and looked at vehicles. Missy wanted the kids to each choose one activity that they would like everyone to do while we are together here in Savannah.  In the afternoon during nap time the girls (and Tyler) went shopping in St. Joe, Target, Sam's.  When we got back we played TJ's choice activity: Flag Football.  I think my team won!!!  But the second picture shows the family who thought they won.  We did more napping, holding and playing with babies.  Before supper we played Knock Out, Haley's choice of activities.   After supper  when it was dark they played Kick the Can, Kane's choice.  We spent more time holding and playing with babies.  Jack has a painful rash and Mandy's back is really hurting.  Both make it hard to have a "perfect" visit, but as family we do our best to help the hurting.  Lord, please heal.  Mandy is trying so hard not to hurt/complain.  Makes us all feel sad.

Got ‘er ... Missy arrive

Denny was up before me.  Now that was different.  I went to Ida Grove to return the wrong pellets I got at Bomgaars, then I headed to Storm Lake to make some SOS donations.  On the way home I stopped to visit with Maryann and Paul at Odebolt Care.  Mandy and her van arrived about 4 and we headed to Omaha to pick up Missy a the airport.  SO GOOD!!!  We headed to Savannah to stay with Matt's family for a couple days.  SO GOOD!!!

Home all day and Missy headed home

Wonderful day.  Nice slow morning.  Later Denny vacuumed in the house and cleaned garage.  We moved two rugs into the garage from the machine shed.  I got a rocker down from the loft and cleaned it up so we can have 2 rockers in the house for 2 babies next weekend and Christmas.  Missy texted.  She is in Doha and headed our direction.  Supper on the picnic table and then chilled (and warmed up with a fire and the heater) in the coop.  More smoked pork leftovers and Heartland before going to bed.

Smokin'Pork

Nice am.  I headed into IG for Doses and OGT.  I got groceries and the wrong smoke chips for the pork loin that Denny is fixing for tonight.  We started the meat and then I remembered study at Ginny's.  At home Denny was  mowing.  I made party potatoes for the freezer.  A great taste test and Heartland movie at night.  Beautiful dusk on the farm.

Love retirement

Slept until 7.  Now that is a treat for me.  Coffee, Devo, news, Lord, help our country.  Day of Prayer. I know my heart's desire is that the Lord, would be the center of our nation, but I don't put the desire into prayer often enough.  I put all gathered clothes into boxes for Missy to go thru.  In the afternoon Denny made a smoke box.  I went to the CSA shed and straightened up a little.  Awana.  Good night.  I worked with one 6th grader for small group.  Z.  Mandy got a van delivered today, but car seats are not installed for the boys yet.  Denny and I chilled and visited after Awana.  Love retirement.

Hearing aids

I got up showered and headed in to OGT.  I helped there until little before 9 when I met Denny in Arthur and we went to Storm Lake Jorgensons Hearing Clinic.  Yup, I don't need 'em.  Yup, Denny does.  Luke gave Denny a trial set.  Seems to help.  He said he could hear the rain this afternoon.  I went to meet with Dr. Welander and get set up for an October 29th appointment.  Brenda invited us over for supper at 6:30.  Such a nice time ... AND great food.   Brenday is the best!!!  It was a cool rainy gray day.  I found these pictures on my 2009 blog:  Luke and my mom in the Brownsville pool when he was 2.
