Off to Indianola

 Jean was sleeping but I called her and she started the sister call.  The  Home Place is ready to go when airbnb come tomorrow.  The basement possibly empty.  The strangest occupant yet.  Uffda!!!   I slowly got ready to head to the 50th and left about 9:30.  We stopped at Culvers for chicken tenders.  We got to Schrums, the guys were golfing, we gals went thrifting and Denny chilled at the house.  We went to Katie's and put together flowers for tomorrow.  Next check in motel.  Then to scrums for visiting and great supper brats and salads. I rode with Beth to Katie's fire pit.  I did not sleep well last night. 

First FCA

In am I worked outside.  Can't remember that I actually did much, but Before I left for the HS to meet with the Softball girls I went to the CSA barn and there was a lot of broken glass.  Uffda!! I started to  sweep some up and then saw more ... so I texted Travis and P and had them clean up the mess that the children made.   FCA went well, I think.  9 gals, 30 minute talk.  Just getting to know them.  When I got back to the farm the 3 kids were int he car with the car area full.  They said that Grandma would be at the farm shortly, they loaded the dog and took off.  Well, that didn't happen.  We went to bed and my watch said I didn't sleep very well.  Uffda!! 

Donut champs

 The boys slept pretty well and came upstairs around 7.  Fun morning with breakfast on the porch, playing with Johan and Johnae, shooting a raccoon in the tree, and working with Gpa on nails.  We headed ti Cherokee around 3.  The Rodeo was great!!  Magic, ring toss, free ice cream bars, donut contest, and mutton riding and bucking bull ride machine.  The contestants were given a bag of 121 donut holes for Tyler, 8 donuts for Jack.  Tyler finished 8 holes in 3 minutes and won his age group.  Jack tied by eating 5 donuts. and he won the rock scissor paper challenge.  So he got to take the trophy home.   Great to  spend time together with Jan also.

OB Golf Getting the boys.

 I left about 6:30 for Alta.  They had gotten a lot of donations in and were happy for the help.  I played golf with Jane from Alta, Linda and Carol.  We didn't putt well.  I played not so hot, but beautiful day and it's all good.  I got boys at their place and we headed to the farm about 4.  Denny went to Rod's with Mike.  He was thrilled because some of the car parts were done in Des Moines and we can pick them up on Monday. Denny happily booked an additional night in the Indianola motel.  The boys went to diving up metal in the camp ground.  They found some old square nails and Denny showed them how to make a cross from them.  Denny put on mutton busting videos to get them prepared for tomorrow rodeo.  The boys slept on the pull out love seat.  

OGT SC

 I headed to OGT.  When it was over Denny met me and we went too SC to look for suit for the June wedding.  Lord, guide our decisions.  I cancelled by oral surgeon tooth pulling because the tooth is not hurting me now.  Lord, guide our decisions.  The irises growing are just amazing!!! So pretty 

Memorial Day

 We were just at home all day.  I got my flag fix yesterday at Cobb Park.  I think Denny painted on the '72. I cleaned the Home Place kitchen. I think we may have mowed.  I thank the Lord for the many lives given to preserve our nation.  Bless all the families of service men.  

Water time

SS and church and we gave Laura a ride home from Church.  That gave me the opportunity to sit by water after church.  Cobb Park and the flags were so amazing.  I took a lot of pictures and posted them on innsta and facebook.  Thank you Lord for all who gave their lives for the freedom I enjoy.

Mexican with Bergmans'

Bruce H. got a amazing award at the Drake State Track Meet.  WAY TO GO!!!  We worked around the farm all day until we got a hold of Mike and Brenda and went to Lakeview Mexican.  Great meal.  In the morning I planted all the random plants that were around and the 136 gladiola bulbs.  Denny washed the Rav and worked on his car.  The 2 airbnb kids played outside with the wheels. 

ANOTHER rainy gray day ....

Nikki called to say she is coming out to visit with Travis.  She came but Travis was not up yet.   She was sorrowed by the care that has not been given to the 2 dogs.   I don't' remember what I did.   Uffda!! I think it was cool and rainy and we did very little.  I'll have to check my pictures to se if I recored any thing special.   Denny and I worked on the computer  finding out the dates the buildings on our farm were constructed.  Hurrah!!! for Chat GPT.  Bunk house 1880   Grainery cabin 1915    Chicken coop.  1910   CSA Barn 1945.   I worked on a display of Ione Johnson's wedding dress in the bunkhouse.  She probably lived in the bunkhouse/kitchen/I wing of the farmhouse when she and John Gabriel were married in 1923.  Denny's grandparents.  

Happy Birthday, Denny!!!

 Thank you Lord, for my husband of almost 53 years.  He is so skilled, I love that he often played piano Hymns as we traveler long hours in the car.  HE IS AMAZING!!

I stayed in bed until Denny was ready to get up.  Now, that's not a usual happening.  I brought in the cake from Cherokee and grocery presents.  Steaks, brussels sprouts, salad, radishes. whipped cream.  I went to study at 1.  We invited Nikki and Sherry to supper.  Great visit with them out in the chicken coop.  It was fun/relaxing/encouraging to visit om the toasty coop. Nikki was so troubled by the status of the 2 dogs that she saw and she is coming out to visit tomorrow.

OB

I left about 8 for Olive branch and volunteered there for about 5 hours.  I met Mandy and got a check for haircuts for the boys.  She was in Alta getting a massage.  I headed to Cherokee, picked up a cake, looked for Globe Thistles and ???.  While I was at Casey's Travis and Precious are there.  Dr. appointment for Johana.  The boys made cards for tomorrow.  Then they played on the school playground.  Mandy met us at Barb's salon.  Mandy asked me to give Barb asparagus.  This is the second time.  The first time she went on a 4 wheeler looking for asparagus in Cook's ditch.  The boys also gave asparagus to their teachers.  About 5 I headed home,  Denny's so happy that he got the water fixed so he could wash his pickup at theCSA barn.  I got my gladiola bulbs today.  Pizza and tv before bed. 

OGT

 I was a wake until about 1-2.  Uffda!!  Still got my   6-7 hours of sleep.  I picked up Rita before going to OGT.  It went well.  In the afternoon, D4nny and I mowed the lawn.  I raked up little of the grass to use as mulch.  We worked on getting the dates for the buildings around the farm.  We went in early  ' cause it's so cold.

I gathered my club, the flowers and asparagus to take to SL.  Maebel was my partner.  Talk About  playing with the intimidating Champ.  Uffda!!! We did shoot a 37 and won first place.  Uffda!!   Sue K and I played another quick 9 holes.  Great day.  Dawn got the flowers.  I got some drug money.  Sold 6 Asparagus.  And $6 for first place.  (We got $12 I found out later, when Maebel gave me the additional on Tuesday.  So I went to Prairie Pedlar and bought 10 lisianthus.  When I got home Denny showed me his work on the car.  I planted the 10 lisi and We had a wonderful evening of visiting and omelet for supper.  

Grad parties

 SS and church.  We came home. Denny rested and I got all the pants I purchased yesterday in the ground.  At 4:30 we headed to Danbury for Jaidons grad party.  Then to IG for Quincy and Zariah's party.  It stormed some of the night.  Another nice day.  Lord, thank you for keeping all safe.  Be with the damage that Hirshman's occurred during the night.  Miss Carol... 

Chantilly Lace

I was up and out and driving to Adel.  We had a sister call on the way.  I got to Juffers as they opened and I bought 3 chantilly Lace, 2 verdive, 2 false sunflowers, 2 coneflowers, one lavender and one plant that  is suppose to burst with color.  I stopped at 2 New Hopes on the way home.  Denny took the trailer to Cherokee and brought back our fixed mower.  At 5 we went to Zach B. grad party.  Emily and Denelle were there from years ago when we had Bible study at my home.  I went out with the G'ma while littles jumped on the tramp.  We watched tv at night.  

Back home

 Up for coffee.  This is the third day of night time sleep measuring.  I think I've got the award for snores and snuck????  level.   We started walking to school and Luke drove the Tesla to say good by as he headed to work.  Kids were so happy to see him on their walk to school.  We left for  home about 10.  I listened to how to start hydrangeas from sprigs.  Karen said the cool bush in her neighbors yard is Chantilly Lace and I called about 7 nurseries yesterday NOPE, No nada.  We don't have any, that is not good for zone 4, but it is doing great in Luke's back yard.  They called from Cherokee and the mower is fixed.  We'll have to see if there is enough time to get it this afternoon.  AND Hemers called and they are going to work on broken water lie.   I told Precious that I would watch the kids outside for a while this afternoon. 

Zimmerman Tennis

 I woke up, had devo and was able to give Luke a hug before he left for work.  We walked kids to school.  Fun to see them,  Karen and Rose walking almost hand in hand, Rose blowing dandelion puff balls. Lincoln running ahead and lying on the ground/sidewalk to wait, L. throwing rocks into the pond. and picking up a 5 foot stick to carry to the intersection. We stopped at grocery store before heading back to Luke's, but bad water so no Starbucks. Mandy said Tessa has baby girl.   About 11 we headed north to Z.   We stopped for a very nice lunch ay Rockwoods.  Becky texted to say Torren and Wyatt were there, so off we went.   It was so good to see them.  Torren was washing his car.  He and Denny talked about upgrades tires/backkseats/etc.  We played little driveway PB.  Becky drove us and Torren to Kane's match.  The matches  started little early because of the rain.  Fun to watch Kane play.  I've never been to a tennis match before.  On the way home we stopped at Culver's for supper.  After supper in the car Kane graced us with some gas.  Uffda!!!  When we got home Kelsi graced the basement with  expletives and more expletives.  Double Uffda!!  So great  to have a short visit with Haley andWyatt about Wedding and life:)  Back at Lukes, we found his location and drove downtown to meet them.  Nice night being with the kids and visiting with L&K.  Thank you Jesus!!

Sioux City/Excelsior

  With being awake 3-4 am.  Uffda.  It looks like I/we got snoring AWARD.  I got most of my little tasks done before we headed to Tooth Doctor.  AND yep I need to get #19 pulled by a dental surgeon.  Denny got a haircut while I went to Mr. Stirfry and got Keto take out.  He got Starbucks and we're off to Excelsior.  Lord, guide our travels and our time with family.   We got there about 4 and sat out on the deck just enjoying the day.  Kids came home from school and went right thru the house to the trampoline.  So cute.  Great night with piano solos, grilled meat looking at books, and fun visiting.   It is so handy to spend the night in the basement. 

OGT

OGT had our picture taken with new shirts.  I headed to Sc City to get some white irises.  Uffda!!  My plant luck has got been good. They wee tiny, but I got the 3 batches in the ground when I got home.  There are some blocks for 1-5 year olds, so I brought them home for the airbnb family.  II planted the great annual I got from walll Lake. The sleep app worked? for last night.    

Golf

I played with Sue K at IG Keenagers.  Nice round, then afterwards Sue and I played another quick round. At home Denny got the round up sprayer ready for tomorrow and I planted the snapdragon's that I got yesterday.  He brought ice tea to the garden patch where I was working.     I opened package from Jakes.  My eucalyptus are toast.  Uffda!!

Mother's Day

i was up and ready sooner tan usual.  Great thing.  Matt called and Missy video called and it was so great to visit with them.  Poor Denny He id try to get a sleep  app working for me, but to no avail.  Stress ... not of my making ... but because he know I would like to have a measurement of my sleep.  AND he is quite sure it is NOT because we have one Apple ID.  Uffda!!! Mandy and Jason and boys joined us for church.  We came home to get the RV and then met Jan at Storm Lake Pizza Ranch.  Great meal.  YUM11 Before we headed home we stopped at Joyce's Greenery and Olivia'a Grad party.  At home I put together flowers for Teenagers.  I plan to pick some asparagus before I leave about 8:45.  Nice phone call from Luke.  Thank you , Jesus for my children.  Keep them true to you and healthy.  Thanks!!!
