BRRRRRRR Ordered trollius

29 degrees is cold here.  I stayed inside most of the day.  I did take some stuff up to the free table and cleaned out drawers.  Mandy started her Revelation Wellness class last night with 25 class members.  I saw this saying for my tall grands.  We had a question last night because we got a chromcast notification from the bunk house.  The electricity must have been out and caused a rebooting.

Trollius Lemon Queen   The details:

Timing: April

Form/Size: Bareroot #1 divisionindividual divisions $6.00+ shipping  Please don't ask or tell me you have another order in April... I already know if it's on the spreadsheet., it just clogs up the thread, we'll combine order automatically if they are here at the same time and it makes sense for shipping...... If you have other April orders we can probably get this one off item combined with one of those orders. If you don't already have an April order we'll start shipping at $15.00 for a small order, and $21.50 for a larger order (should be able to ship a bunch at that rate)

Trollius x cultorum 'Lemon Queen' globeflower is an excellent cut flower prized for its vibrant, lemon-yellow, double blooms. When harvested with proper post-harvest care, the flowers hold very well and can last in a vase for over a week. Harvesting & Post-Harvest Care  Harvesting at the correct stage and following specific post-harvest steps are key to maximizing the vase life of Trollius 'Lemon Queen'. • Harvest Stage: For the longest vase life, harvest when the buds are starting to unfurl but preferablybefore the blooms are fully open.• Immediate Placement: Place cut stems in water immediately after harvesting• Stem Treatment: According to some sources, you can sear the cut end of the stem with a match or use a commercial floral conditioner to help with water uptake and longevity.• Storage: Store the cut flowers in a cool location, out of direct sunlight.• Vase Life: With proper care, the flowers can last for more than a week in a vase.   Growing for Cut Flowers  Growing robust plants ensures a continuous supply of quality blooms for cutting. • Light & Soil: Trollius 'Lemon Queen' thrives in full sun to partial shade, especially in cooler climates. It requires deep, fertile, and consistently moist to boggy soil that should not be allowed to dry out.• Watering: Consistent moisture is crucial for healthy growth and abundant flowering. This makes it an ideal plant for pond edges or bog gardens.

Maintenance:◦ Pruning: Cut plants back hard after the first flush of flowers to encourage new foliage growth and potentially a second wave of blooms.◦ Division: Clumps can be easily divided in the fall or early spring to propagate more plants and maintain vigor.• Pests & Diseases: The plant is generally pest-free but may be susceptible to powdery mildew, which can be mitigated with good air circulation.• Establishment: Trollius perennials may take a couple of years to fully establish and produce abundant flowers  This order will be tracked on the Apr2026 tab of the order tracking doc: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1zAC1IKatTN8xCPf_AfNZ_2A6pYL24NbTOeIlBJDOUxA/edit?usp=sharing
