Slow gettig going morning. Phillilp rode his bike to see Jsmrd R. We stoppped there before going to Olive branch.
I bought weveral vases for 10 cents each. I plan to use them on golf lady arrangements.
I was up and headed to Oak Dale riding with Jensens. Nice service. I took flowers and shared them after PHillip and Missy's nice SS talk. Kids there asked good questions. At home I took some flower pictures and then I rode with Denny to take pictures of the orange car and flags in Holstien.
Before I loved these babies, I loved their parents.
I loved them when they were the ones in footie pajamas crawling around my house.
When they climbed into my lap with a book smelling like sunshine and maple syrup.
When their cries woke me in the middle of the night and I rocked them back to sleep with my eyes half-closed and my heart wide open.
Now, my babies have babies.
And I get to love again…with the kind of tenderness that only comes with time.
Being a grandma means I know how fast it all goes.
So I don’t rush the bedtime story.
I don’t mind the sticky hands or the crumbs on the floor.
I just hold them close and let the moments last a little longer.
I remember the tender weight of their mommy in my arms.
I remember the way their daddy’s grin lit up my whole heart.
And I see it all again reflected in tiny faces and echoed in little voices that are new and so familiar.
It is the sweetest full circle.
And somehow, I love them all even more.
-Her View From Home
For over 50 years my mom, Bernice Newhouse, kept a journal, usually in spiral notebooks with the year written on the outside. Mom died in April 2008. In December 2008 my son, Luke, tried to get me into the 21st century with a blog site. This is kind of in remembrance of Mom and an update for my kids of my day to day life. Nothing exciting or noteworthy...I'm just thankful to God for all He has given me. What a great Lord we have.
