Perm from Toni

Up for devo,  Perm at 9:30.  It's curly ... very curly.  I stopped at Texas and bought a sun dress.  Denny is working on Dan's addition.  I finished reading The Maze Runner in the sun on the deck.  As I started to walk to the pool I stopped at Dan's and visited and decided not to go to the pool.  Bill and Sandy stopped to say bye.  Later Cyndi and Todd stopped and we watched the sun set on the deck.  We watched tv before heading to bed.  Another great day in the Valley.

Smokin at Eileen's and Gary's

Up for devo, coffee, quiet time.  Lovely.  There was no pickleball players at 8:30.  I picked up Mert and Joanna and drove down to Elizabeth street to shop the dime stores.  I parked at the duty free store.   I took them to Rutledges, a hamburger place that has been there since 1922.  It was a hamburger stand between 2 stores and in 1922 the owners bought it for $65.  They put a roof and made it a long narrow building.  It was not a good idea to park at the duty free store.  UFFDA!!  Such a deal... Stupid of me.  We got home about 1.  I listened to the book  Maze Runner.  At 4 we went to a neighbor for a smokers pot luck.  Wonderful food, fun people.  great weather.  At dusk I invited Bennets and Hendersons over to view the sunset.  Pretty much another great day in the valley.

Plants

Up for devo, coffee, emptying dishwasher, cleaning kitchen, and playing with plants.   We had a nice phone call from Mandy last night.  Looking at this picture with Tyler brought a smile to my heart.  I ws around th trailer all day.  Denny went to help Dan with his addition until the wind picked up even more.  The gator came around again and many came to see him.  I called Gloria and after we looked at the gator we looked at pictures from the bunk house transformation.  Carol G. wrote an email wondering if they could use our farm for a quester meeting in May.  I said yes, it should be fun!  At night we walked up to the hot tub and Bill invited us to stay and listen to their friend Larry (and Dixie) sing and play guitar at the hall.

God Citing:  Kellie and Steve are listing their home in Brownsville to sell.  They had 2 showings and as Kellie prayed that they would get a cash offer.  As she was praying a phone call came and Steve answered it and they got a cash offer.  PTL!!  After church we went to Walmart.  At home I listened to Libby  .... American Dirt.  After a while Denny put on the Kansas BB game.  Wow what a second half!  I went out to the deck to listen to the book.  Denny came out and .... YES there was an alligator on the turtle board.  Now that was a cause for me to get upset.  Really don't like!!!

Visit to Wild August

Nice slow morning.  I finished putting the dried out snapdragons into soil.  There was the last coffee and donuts, then Gloria, Joanna, Mert, and I went to the farmers market in Harlingen.   We left after coffee and donuts.   It was good to talk to the owner of Wild August, Jennifer W.  Pretty flowers.  We had lunch at New York Deli and got home about 2.  On the way home Mert asked me how many shoes I had.   I told her I keep them all in a drawer, so the smelly shoes didn't smell up our room.   Denny had been helping Dan work on his garage addition.  I listened to the book.  Fall of Giants.  At 4 I took snacks down to Dan and Bert's.  We came home and watched tv.  Nice day.

Port of Brownsville tour cancelled

Denny was up early.  7:30.  Breakfast and on the way to SPI.  There was an accident on the bridge and traffic was backed up.  When we got to the boat ramp we found out our tour had been postponed until to tomorrow.  We went with 20 others from the park to a breakfast place on the island.  We stopped at a couple places before going to the beach for 1-2 hours.  It was so nice and relaxing.  I listened to Fall of the giants.  31 hours long and 14 hours left.  Denny stopped to get some repair for Nancy's car top.  At home we chilled, showered and then went down to the "Going away" get together at the pool.  The broccoli casserole I made got dropped, luckily nothing broke. Nice day.

I am so thankful that Caring Bridge once again let me view Matt's posts.  Thanks, Mary Jo!!!  I didn't know what I did wrong.  You are in our thoughts and prayers.

Painting and lasagne

Fun day!!  I finished making soil cubes and planting the lisianthus.  I started making bread for supper.  At 10:30 I rode with Karen and Sharon to Autumn Acres to paint flower pots.  It was a fun morning with pizza and salad for lunch.  About 20 ladies from then park were there.  When I got home Denny headed down to Dan and Roberta's to see if Dan needed help with building a small garage on the end of their trailer.  We chilled down there and waited for Bennets to come with lasagne for supper.  It was a great supper:  Lasagne, kettle bread, Asian salad and Sandy had made confetti angel food cake.  So good!!

Also Dan & Roberta, Leann & Mark, Karen& Royal, Sharon& Ron. It was perfect weather. good music to listen and dance to, good  chatter around the table and fun to tour the 1860's farm house.   Karen's brother Mark got married this afternoon in Des Moines. Haley sent a few pictures/videos.  That looks like a fun day!  The best part of the day was when we talked with Missy, Evan, Anabel and Brooks for 2 hours before heading to bed.

Home

Karen said we may be doing a Karaoke song with a hippie theme and so I went to church to get a macramé belt that I saw at the garage sale.  I helped until 8:30 and then came back to the park for pickleball for an hour.  And then we were hung around the rest of the day.   I'm kinda missing the bunk house and I'm wondering what we will be able to do this summer.  I think it is called evaluate $, and projects needed to be done and make priorities.  I'd like to get it up and running: Machine sand plank floors, (Check with Michelle for floor workers) Dry wall lower level room (Contact Rose and Nikki), See plumber for estimate (Sholty or Hemer).  Lord, guide our decisions.

St Patrick's Day

I was up pretty early.  After Pickle ball I went to church and helped set up for the garage sale.   I stayed there until past 3.  The St Pat get together was in the hall.  Music was fun and the turkey crescent sandwiches were amazing.  At 7 friends came over to watch the I heart Memories of my dad's 75th birthday.  Gloria, Jackie, Roger and Kay's daughter (Julie) were at Dad's party.  After that we visited with Jackie and Roger for quite a while and then we watched a couple movies before heading to bed.  Another fun day!!

Happy birthday, Jason!!!

Jason, we are so thankful to have you in our family.  May your birthday be fun!  May you look to God in all you do.  I love the joy you show when you are loving on Mandy and your boys!!!

Space X tour                                                                                                                                                           I had pretty much loaded the snacks to eat after the tour, so we were ready to ride with Sandy and Bill at 7 am.   There were about 50 of us from 4 Seaons that took the tour.  We got to Rocket Ranch and rode a school bus on the tour at 8.  It was good, just lead by regular guy who was very passionate about space travel.  In retrospect he was using tours to fund his choice to buy some land that is available to watch launchings.  @ $150-$5,000 dollars a person.  If environmental evaluations fail, Elon is out and he is out.  He said the road to Boca Chica was closed for the day, so we (Sandy, Bill, Jean, Bob) ate our snacks along the Rio Grand at Rocket Ranch on the lawn chairs we packed. After we got home I went to the pool, then napped,  I listened to the book Double Minds, then Denny and I watched a couple movies.
