Friends leaving, Kids coming

Little slower this am.  But coffee, banana muffins, bacon, eggs, and pineapple for breakfast.  I picked some flowers before the Bergstrands left.  In the afternoon Denny worked on the rust on vehicles, and I read, moved the sprinkler,  and took a nap.
For my Christmas present I ask that we get together some weekend as a family.   This is the weekend the kids chose.  I have really wanted the family to spend some time in my hometown area.  There is so much to see and do in northeast Iowa.  So in December we decided to meet and stay at my brother Craig's pond the 2 days before my nephew's wedding in Madison Wisconsin, then we would travel to the wedding.  Well, in December Luke and Karen said they were expecting in July.  In January Mandy and Jason said they were expecting in August.  Do we meet in Burr Oak with a 16 day old baby and a baby due in 16 days????   It was fine with me to meet at the farm, so we changed location from Burr Oak to IG.  Luke and Karen got to the farm about 8:00 pm and Mandy and Jason got here about 8:30.  Matt and Becky will be here Thursday noon.  Tho' it was past bed time when they got here, Jack and Rose got to play outside with the kitties, in the park, on the merry go round, and on trampoline.  So fun to have family here.  After the littles were put in bed, we visited until 11 out on the patio.  SO GOOD!!!  It was about 11:15 when we headed to bed.  Luke and Karen were in purple room with Lincoln in the closet and Rose in the computer room.  Mandy and Jason are in the airbnb green room with Jack asleep in the yellow room downstairs. I stayed in the living room and worked on the blog.  Mandy came upstairs and said her water had broken and could Jack spend the night here as they were headed to the Cherokee hospital.  SO GLAD WE ARE IN NW IOWA, not 4 hours away from Cherokee hospital.  Uffta!!!  Prayers and to bed.

Such a long time ago.  So many good memories.

Just around IG

It was another great morning.  We had coffee on the patio, (in jammies and robes) So comfortable.  Great day with great friends.  Denny fixed breakfast with Chicago bacon.  All morning we just sat and visited.  About 1 we took the pickup on a windmill tour, Teifentaler taste test, and visit to Old Town.  Such a pretty afternoon.  We stopped at Lansinks and picked some sweet corn. At home we went to work.  Bless them for helping us freeze corn.  We kept the mess outside.  We boiled the water on the grill, cooled the corn in a cooler with running water from a hose, and cut the corn on a table outside by the patio.  So many memories with corn and Connie.  We had brats, corn, salad, and peaches and ice cream.

So good.  How can it be 12:30 am when we are going to bed.  So good.  Jensens' first day of school.

Sunday Fun Day

Wow! A beautiful morning!  I went out and picked flowers for church.  There was a beautiful glad and 2 pretty dahlias.  As I walked out to put those 3 blooms in an arrangement I found many pink pretties. Denny fixed breakfast on the patio.  Church: Alan T. gave a great message.  About 3 the Masters girls came to make arrangements for Widows' luncheon  Denny started cleaning the floors. At 4:30 we went to yoga.  When we got home Denny kept cleaning and I went out to mow.  Luke called and the kids are coming to the farm for a couple days before the wedding in Madison, instead of going to Burr Oak.   Denny washed and ironed white shirts.

Jack half day

Everyone slept in.   Jack slept 13 hours;boy, the farm tuckers you out: 7 pm to 8 am.  We had a family FaceTime call at 8. Missy, and kids, Karen and kids, Luke when he got home from his half marathon run,  (Mandy was st work and Matt was climbing a 14er, Mount Quandary.  Dad and I both had cameras on Jack and his “playings”.  Jessica M. Came with her mom and 2 grandmothers for a tea party out in the yard.  At 10:30 we went to Alan and Lisa’s to see the puppies.  Then to the Storm Lake clinic to make the Grand swap.  So fun to have Jack here.  At home we napped, Denny started to grind rust off the Jeep in an effort to improve the vehicle.   As we were going to Denison to get rubber coating paint, we got a call from Danny W. - the father of one of Missy’s friends in N.  He is coming out to the farm; we’ll call before we head home from Denison.
