Golf with Renae

Zumba at 5:30.  At 8 I met Renae and we played a round of golf.  Well, I didn't play my best, but it was still good.  Here, I thought I had it figured out ... NO!  from at 47 to a 59 UFFTA!!   Still got a lot to learn/apply/practice.  Denny had a haircut in the afternoon.  I put together flowers for Amy's shower.  The lisianthus are so pretty.  Mandy sent a picture of Tyler.  Oh, My, What a sweetheart!!!  Denny washed the motorcycle later this evening.  So much to be thankful for!!!

Well, we mowed.

Up for 5:30 exercise.  I read at the rec center until time for OGT.  I had a cardstock invitation for OGT to have lunch at our place August 27 and a card stock of pictures of new Tyler Matthew.  At home Denny was working on rust on the Jeep.  In the afternoon we mowed the lawn.  Mike B.  called about 6 to see if we wanted to go to DQ.  So off we went.  LOVE summer activities.

Home

When I went into IG there was no exercise class because Jenn is on vacation.  I rode the stationary bike for 30 minutes, over 11 miles.  Then to 20 minutes on the elliptical machine.  It rained a lot this am.  At home we cleaned airbnb, washed clothes, and got the bedroom tv hooked up.  Denny worked on reapplying for  his passport.  It was a lazy day ... I read, napped, and listened to youtube on flower arranging.

Seemed like a really long trip home

Slept in until after 8 when I heard Rose's sweet voice.  Becky had left earlier with 3 kids and was stopping at her brother Scott's for breakfast.  Matt is working in Minneapolis Monday thru Wednesday and so he was traveling with Luke's family north.  Luke took what he found in the refrigerator (eggs, cheese, and Mexican leftovers) and made a great breakfast.  We packed up and left about 10:45.  Home about 5 with 3 stops on the way.  Very good Christmas gift to me.  Good to spend time with my boys and families.  At home Denny set up the item he got at Best Buy.  AND searched for the lap top to determine how to install and then respond to airbnb.  The outside lines from the sistern are dry so we can contact Barry to figure out how to shut off the water to across the road.  Lincoln got a quilt from G'Aunt Gail.  Beautiful.  Jensens sent a video of their home in N.

Maynard and Devon's wedding

I stayed in bed until I heard noises from the littles.  Becky had gotten what Walgreens had available for breakfast.  Eggs, deli ham, processed sliced cheese and using it Matt made a great breakfast.  We headed to the farmer's market around the capitol square in Madison.  Fun to see all the produce.  LOTS of people.  Then we went to Nancy's.  She is having a art sale next weekend and gave the family opportunity to choose gifts for themselves. We were back at the airbnb for naps.  At 4:15 we left for the wedding.  It was held at Black Hawk Country club and was wonderful.  White chairs on the 10th hole tee off box.  Reception in the clubhouse.  After the ceremony drinks, meatballs, stuffed scallops and bruschetta were served by waiters. We found our table (high chairs were at the table for littles)  When it was time to have dinner served, the children got their fruit plates while adults got a green vegetable  salad.  Children got their meals served before the adults.  Brother Bruce gave a nice speech/toast for his son.  Nice time visiting and dancing.  Beautiful wedding. We headed back to airbnb by 10 to get the littles to bed.

Heading to Madison

Up to put dishes away, make bacon and eggs, and head to IG to get Denny's prescription before we go to Madison.  When I got home we were videoing with Jensen's in N.  SO GOOD!!!  I worked inputting away outside stuff; Denny worked on the basement.  The kids headed out about 9:30 and we left about 10:15.  Denny said the drive was longer than he remembered and that the person he rode with wasn't a good conversationalist.  The flowers were all done when we stopped at Decon and Maynards before going to our airbnb.  It is a nice big house.  We met some of the family to eat Mexican,   Mandy and Tyler got out of the hospital to go to John's surprise party.  Denny headed to bed early. Nice night visiting.

Welcome Tyler Matthew Cook

Tyler Matthew Cook was born at 10:31 August 8, 2019,  He weighed 7 pounds, 7 ounces and was 20 1/2 inches long.   We had a long morning ... just waiting for the news.  But we kept busy.  I heard Rose stir about 7:30.  And right off the bat she headed outside, barefoot, in jammies to the park.  She just walked from one place to another, carefree, talking to herself, and happy to explore.  Jack got up around 8:30 and the 2 of them played so nicely, going from one thing to another.  Sand table, trampoline, swings, merry go round, bikes, sit on the tractor with G'pa.  We ate one of Denny's great breakfasts on the deck, had coffee on the patio with Luke and Karen, always keeping a watchful eye on the littles playing in the distance.  the chairs on the patio had a perfect view of kids playing.  Matt and family got here about 12 and we all just chilled and waited for news.  About the time Denny decided to give Jack a shower, the phone call came.  Everyone was so happy to hear.  Mandy asked permission of Uncle Luke Tyler Johnson and Uncle Matthew Brent Johnson to use their names for their new son.  It was given.  We put the littles down for a nap and everyone waited to make a trip north to see the newest cousin. About 3:45 we woke Jack up and headed to Cherokee.  OH, MY,  Tyler is a NICE baby.  Thank you, Jesus.   The rest of the family followed shortly after.  Mandy's hospital room was full of loving family.  Lots of sharing holding the baby.  Lots of thankfulness that we weren't in Burr Oak.   Such a sweet time.  Only sadness was missing the N. Jensens.  We are called to trust God in all things, especially the ones that make our hearts ache and eyes puddle up.  Jan and John met us at the hospital, we had brought along Jack's stuff to make a kid exchange with G'ma and G'pa Cook.
At home we grilled burgers, heated corn on the cob, made amazing guacamole, cowboy caviar, and creamy cukes.  Pete came out to help hold Lincoln.  Carol joined us after her PEO meeting.  Wow what an amazing day!!! Thank you, Jesus!!  TWO precious baby boys 17 days apart in age.  What fun!!!
