Beautiful morning. I worked on getting caught up on my blog this am. I went in to play pickleball from 7:30-10. Becky V had pickled Tim and so I made his a pickle prize. Then I came home to meet Alyssa H and talk about her wedding bouquets. She had some silk roses and we put together a bouquet with real and silk. I met Sherry R in Denison at 5 and we went to the rodeo in Harlan. The weather was beautiful and it was a fun night, but Sam didn't ride his bull very long.
It was an amazing day. I finished listening to a book and got a quote from Ordinary Grace by William Kearny Krueger about the death of a loved one. Warren Redstone’s parting wisdom,” The dead are never far from us, they are in our hearts and on our minds, and in the end all that separates us from them is a single breath, one final puff of air.” I did a study on the Breath of God verses in the Bible. It was so encouraging. Karen and kids are in IG. Denny went to IG to bring them to the farm for a couple hours. I worked on putting flowers together for the IG FM. I sold 9 bunches and gave Dakota one bunch. She said the would use it as her bouquet. From there I went to Lakeview for the SS picnic. Such good food!!! Then home with Denny to chill on the deck. Missy called to say that we should not come to the open house in Ames. Saddens, but I trust God and their wisdom of what they need. Lord, guide me each day and help me share, trust and obey Your guidance. Joann shared with me some pictures of the Hammerstrom sisters that Bri had taken. Lovely.
I was up and the radar showed a storm was in the making, so I didn't head to Cherokee until 6:45. It was a fun day!! We played at home and then went to the theater at 11. The movie was 'Mummies". The boys really enjoyed it. We walked to a thrift store, then to New Leaf where Jack got an ice cream bucket with some parts to a GI Joe vehicle. I got 16 pint canning jars for $4 and 14 folding chair seat covers for $7. We went to the library until 4 pm, then headed home. The new deck railing looks so great!! I went out and picked some veggies for our salad from the garden Yummy!!!
Devo on patio ... perfect. I played PB with Dave until time for OGT. I went to Janice J ate OGT and she shared some plants with me. What a sweetie. I got out of the plants in the gun more he lonely rain during the night. I don't remember what else I did. UFFDA!!
I was up and after devo I weeded a couple rows in the flower garden and then headed to Fonda to play golf. I played with Marilyn, we shot a 44, but really didn't have good shots around the green. Sarah and Donna were in our foursome. After a great lunch I stopped at Kelsey's and visited for about an hour. The funniest thing! I brought my usual flower bouquet to Keeners, but when I found out Kelsey was going to be home, I wished I had picked some flowers for her. WELL!!! They drew my name for the doorprize and so I got to renege and take the flower to her. So fuNNY!! She is such a sweetie. We laughed a lot. I went to Storm Lake and got a back seat full of donations from SOS to take to OGT tomorrow. I stopped at Alta before coming home. DENNY AT HOME MADE AMAZING CHANGES TO THE DECK!!!! He took off the benches and put in a 30 inch railing. I think it will work out perfectly. We had a great supper of brats, griddled green beans and freshly picked, washed off outside, and torn arugula, basil,cilantro, chives and dill. YUM!!!
I was up and getting ready, but I forgot to take the flowers that I made up last night. After church Susan, Gordon, Whitney, Lucy, Rosie, Ivy and Stanley came for picnic lunch, as Staley called it. Such nice Grands for Susan. Fun to visit.
I was up early and visited with my sisters while I drove 12 bouquets and 2 pans of cream cheese brownies to Lakeview, It was kinda a slow am, but by 11 all of the bars were gone (actually I gave about 1/3 away as samples) and 10 of the 12 bouquets. At home we worked and worked and worked to get the frame to fit with the collage inside. Maybe that happened yesterday ... Anyway it was a hard thing to do AND we lost 2 tiny screws.
