Friday July 19 Wedding Rehearsal

Okay, Friday morning and I met Sue K to play pickle ball. After the sauna,  I stopped at the Best of Barb's for potato salad for Mike's funeral.  I took it to church.  About 9 am. friends/family started to come to our home for food prep.  SO away we went.  We started cutting up fruit in the kitchen.  Washed grapes, watermelon, muskmelon, Susan H, Lori, Renae, Amelia and me.  As more workers came we moved to the garage tables to cut up more fruit and when that was done Lori started to prep the 12 pans of French toast bake and the 12 roasters of egg bake.  At 10:30 I went to the funeral service.  I am so thankful I did.  Denny was running the sound system.  It was a great, but oh, so sad, service.  The service ended with the fire department bell ringing ceremony and the last emergency call for Mike.  So moving.  So sad.  So thankful for those who lay their lives on the line for the safety of our community.   So thankful for Mike and his unwavering service to God by helping with Awana, by being the Hidden Acres representative, and serving on the IG fire department.  Lord, be with Michelle, Dakota, Axel, and Mike's family and all of us and our loss.
I helped serve lunch.  The fire department grilled burgers and hot dogs, we served potato salad, baked beans, watermelon, chips,  and Hidden Acres chocolate chip cookies.
When I got home they had a lot of the prep work done and were cleaning up the kitchen.  When I went up to put some flowers together Susan H. came up to help me.  We pulled out the baskets of flowers and made 1 bride bouquet and 5 bridesmaid bouquets.  As I worked on them she helped put eucalyptus in the bridal table centerpiece.  We got it all done.  SO thankful for her help.  Well, it was getting close to 6, so Lori and Susan did not have time to go back to their place and get cleaned up.  SO on to the next rehearsal time.  Groomsmen and bridesmaids and family came and they ran thru the ceremony.  I served supper at 7.  Nick grilled burgers and hot dogs.  We had left over baked beans,  potato salad, tea, and chips from the funeral.  I fixed ramen noodle salad, pasta salad, lemonade.  Some one brought brownies, cherry fluff.   Beth and Jacob opened gifts.  After everyone had cleaned up, Beth, Amy, Carrie, Lauren, and dog stayed in the airbnb for the night.  They put together the coffee cake wedding cake.
Tomorrow is the big day!!!

Full Day Fun with flowers

I went to the rec center for AM mix.  At home I did something.  (As I write this it is almost a week later and I'm just not really sure what I did.)  Denny cleaned the airbnb for the wedding this weekend.    I did go to study at Ginny's from 2-4.  Teresa brought 35 wooden slabs that Bob had cut for Bethany's table centerpieces.  As I drove home I stopped at the visitation for Mike P.  At 7 the praise team came out to practice.  It really sounds good.  I was overwhelmed with putting together 90 vases for the tables and wondered who I could call to help.  Bethany was out of town for the night.  Laura wondered if she could help, but I didn't feel like driving in to get her ... and wasn't sure how she could help put flowers in the vases.  God brought Rachel to mind, and when I talked to her she said Amelia was available. and I was SO thankful for Amelia's help.  Uffta!! I know I would have been bummed out if I was doing the flower work alone.   Thank you, Jesus!!!  Denny was busy mowing and doing last minute sign putting up, etc. Full Day.

Bulging tent roof.  Uffta!!  Luckily Denny siphoned off the 300 gallons of water that was pooled up in the southeast corner of the tent roof.

Full day Tent arrives

Up early for devotions before AM mix. Next to OGT.  Then I went to help Elizabeth and Nate B. move into thier new acreage.  Dear Lord, bless their family and years here.  I came home, changed and went to play golf with Julie.  Denny was home and weeding and cutting an edge arouond the lilies and asparagus. The tent came and they were beginning to jack hammer the stakes into the ground.  I golfed a 54, not so hot.  Then I played another 5 holes with Elaine G. from 2 miles south of Kiron.  I came home shot and Denny was even more shot after weeding, etc.  Terry G. came again and edged and weeded the flower beds.

Jack Day 7/15

It was tempting to stay in bed this am, but I went to abs/bikes.  Then to Cherokee.  It was another great day!!!  Jack is a nice boy.  We played outside and inside.  Bike and helmet.  When he doesn't want to wear the helmet I remove the bike from him and put it up.  This does not make him happy, but then he changes his mind and puts the helmet on, so I take the bike down.  In the workout shed he moved thru the tumbling mats that became a house.  We went shopping in G'ma's car to get groceries.    Back for lunch, nap and now it is past 4 and I am thinking I should get Jack up.  We got up and played in the blue pool.  At home Terry G. came to weed the flower beds and edge them.  Alan H. came to make a frame for the entry doors.

Day of rest

Mike P. died last night.  So sad.  He will be missed.  He had been in the hospital and had heart problems.  AArika and Beth came about 8:30 to look at lighting and possibilities for photo shoot.  I took flowers to church.  After church and naps I started sewing covers for old patio chairs.  Then I went out to pull pig weeds.  Denny cleaned and cleaned and cleaned.  The house looks SO good.  Luckily I will be gone to Cherokee tomorrow, so it will stay clean one day.

Lots of bacon in am

Beautiful morning.  I went to IG around 9 and met up with Beth and Laura.  They got 2 ladders and I took them home in the pickup.  Toured the farm,  Beth thought the bridesmaids bouquets were ok.  Went to Rachel's to get the metal table for the coolbot.  Hurrah It fit in!!!  They got bacon that was being stored at Lynn's home.  We cut up 20 pounds of bacon and baked it.  The taste was magnificent.  So good to get it done.  They stayed for lunch, cleaned the kitchen up and then headed home.  Denny finished washing the house.  We mowed.  I mowed the pasture area across the road and made a bouquet for church tomorrow.
