OGT PP and plant

 I went to OGT until about 10.  Then to Prairie Pedlar and got the rest of the lisies that I had ordered  (6 trays) ... plus another 24 pink ones.  Plus 2 sweet peas for the trellis by the patio.  At home I took the rug off the  dirt where the lisies are going ... I waited a couple of hours and then started to plant.  I got 6 trays done, preened, sprinkled with water, and covered against drying out too fast or sunburn or protection from the wind.  Pretty happy with stair work.  Thank you, Jesus.  Now let these amazing big lisies  take off and bloom. 

 

Planting

Up and took the blue vases down to the dishwasher.  I don't remember what I did this am.  I started planting the snapdragons, then 96  lisianthus.  I covered them with blankets/ sheets to keep varmints away and keep them from sunburn and wind ... Hopefully ....  Lance came out to work on the '72 in the morning.   After we were in cabin for a while,  Denny went to Odebolt to buy some 2x4's and $75x2 worth of screws.   At night we watched tv.  Another good day.  My back is rather sore ... from planting??? sitting on the ground.  

Graduation Sunday

 So good to be in church.  Four gals from AEF are graduating.  One is Faith Johnson.  Denny cleaned the house in the afternoon.  I worked on the Spotlight for the Odebolt Vendors and then joined Denny in cleaning.    Mike and Brenda came over for burgers.  It was so good to catch up on their lives.

Faith’s Garden Flowers is not a business, it’s something I “just like to do” . I often refer to flowers as my "drug of choice".  I love sharing flowers from our century farm with those around me: at church, Monday gal’s golf, friend’s showers/weddings, Farm to Table, King Theater fund raiser, and as gifts to others.  The truth is that, like much of life, flowers don’t last long.  It is important to take the time to experience God’s beauty in each moment.  I hope others enjoy the flowers I raise … and I am thankful when they add to my “drug" money.  :)

Prairie Peddlar

 It was a fun day!!!  I picked up Nikki and we stopped to get coffee/chai tea at Sunrise.  The learn/lunch was very fun. Jane did a great job ... Quite a few new things for me to learn.  I bought 96 lisianthus.  I had taken my arrangements of spring flowers and my daffodil table cloth to PP.  On the way home Nikki helped my take the flowers into church for tomorrow.  When I got home Denny was working on a shed.  He's got some good ideas.  I went to help clean at Hans and Beth's.  There were 5 gals from our SS class, plus sweet Addie .  When I got home Denny had put more of  his ideas into effect.  We mowed the lawn, then came in to eat, get my new phone paired and watch TV movie.  My phone did not have good connection when I talked to Mandy and other times, so he ordered a second phone for me.  Just saying  ... It is a hastle when you have phone problems.   

                                            

                                           

                                            

Happy birthday, Missy!!

Happy Birthday, Missy.  I am so thankful for your life and light.  God has given you amazing talents and I'm so thankful that you use them for His glory.   Melissa JOY...yes.

I stopped at church to take some flowers to the widows' luncheon.  A vase of daffodils, a vase of pussy willows and a basket of spring flowers.  Then I played pickleball for 2 hours.  Lose some, win some.  I went to church to help with the lunch while I was there I got on my laptop for BSF noon til 1 pm.  Most of the ladies had left when I came down after the zoom meeting.  I took the flowers home and put them in the refrigerator.  I had planned to go hear about uganda, but there were tornados south of here and so we just stayed home and watched the TV.  Cooper DJ got selected by Philadelphia Eagles.  :)

Bible study

I was just at home in the morning as Denny drove to IG, Denison, IG.  A new truck battery cost $208.  I couldn't get the one car piece that he is looking for and maceciliay just have to put the old one back in.  I headed to Sue's for study at 1.  Good group: Sue, Teresa, Melissa, Cecelia, Pat,Sharon.  At home we looked around the bunkhouse etc,  Never before watched the NFL draft choice.  Go Cooper!!!  whatever... I love to see all my tulips!!!

Mom died 16 years ago ... miss her

 My mom was amazing... She is missed.

I was home most of the morning.  Just doing odds and ends.   About 11 id headed to Cherokee, New leaf, get the booster seats.   I picked up Tyler at daycare then went out to Mandy's and we took her car to Alta Thrift store.  I got a few goodies.  We stopped to get Jack after school.  We ate french fries and a blizzard at Dairy Queen.  There was a car show going on the the adjacent parking lot.  Let's bring the '72 to Cherokee.  I headed home and had a snack when Denny got back from working 14 hours "ROLLING" over by Battle Creek.  

OGT Plants

I took a swig of NyQuil at 2 and slept until 8.  Uffda!!  Denny was already out driving tractor for larsons.  I headed into OGT.  SO many clothes.  I went to Joyces Greenery in Storm Lake and got 24 x3 snap dragons.  $50.  Then to Prairie Pedlar and got 6 eucalyptus plants for $30.  At home the airbnb has not come up room the basement.  I moved furniture around in the cabin, but couldn[t get the bit on the drill.  We had marinated pork chops and asparagus that set off the smoke alarm  Uffda!!  We watched tv and then to bed.  Denny worked 10 hours for Larsons driving a roller ... A BIG roller.  Uffda!! I paid for 75 lilies $50. Now to find a place to put them.  Lord, help me.

Stripes ... World Book Day!!!

 I was up for devo.   I slept pretty well last noght   I laid out somestuff for New Leaf.  At 1we had a tax appointment .  I used IG bucks and we got sandwiches at Brownies.  Denny is SO happy with the mini split that he put in the bunkhouse    I planted a plant and 12 lilies in garden.  after supper we talked about the cabin.  Dreams.....

 So good to be in SS and church.    After lunch at church we made a trip to IG.  At home Denny work on mini split. I went to play PB from 5-7.  The Minisplit heater working.  We watched TV and headed to bed.

Mr. Cool, himself

Denny started on the electrical work for Mr.Cool.  What a guy!!!  The window came today as we were leaving to go to Cherokee to Cooks for supper.  I had a great morning... finally got my suitcases from trip home from Texas empty and put away.  I got Airbnb ready for next guest, did 3 loads of laundry, Made 2 batches of kettle bread.  We stopped in Arthur and dropped off flowers and bread for Nikki.  Great meal in Cherokee.  Ribs,done 4 ways,  salad, fruit, kettle bread, and Chocolates for desert.  YUM!!! Plus just a good visit.  Thank you Jesus!!

Starting Mr. Cool Minisplit

I got up and did devo and then to IG for PB.  I bought a quilt at Dose yesterday.  When I got home they were fixing the garage door opener spring.  It got done by All Pros from Carroll.  Denny was getting the mini cooler/heater in the bunk house.  We had to go to IG for some tools/parts.  We went back to the bunkhouse and put the minisplit on brackets on the south wall.   We watched TV in the sunroom before going to bed.

         

  

Home and BS with Susan&friends

 I was around all morning.  At 1 I went to Bible study at Susan's.  Teresa, Pat, Melissa and Sharon joined us.  They liked the flowers i brought in.  I went to Bomgaars and got soil and Round-up.  At home I sprayed some weeds, My lips are still nasty.   Nice picture of Brad and Micki's kids. 

Happy birthday Evan!!!!

Wow!! You are 18!   We thank God for you.  He has great plans for your life.  May you feel His peace as you think about your future.  

I played PB in the morning.  Good to be back there.   After lunch we mowed, The garage door fixer came to take a look.  I gave him some daffodils and asparagus.   Denny and I work on Cool bot, actually I just watched him try to figure out what was wrong.  After supper I picked and put flowers in Cooler.  While Denny order Coolbot part.  My phone doesn't work well when I talk to Mandy; Denny went on line to phone personnel to try to fix it.   Denny ordered meat for Bill and Kathy.  We got an airbnb reservation for Brook F.'s daughter's wedding. The groom's family is from Spain.  I started to move furniture in bunkhouse to get ready for mini cooler/heater installation. 

OGT Cherrokee

I left about 9 for OGT.  It was great to be there again.  I got there in time to add KISC to their prayer list.   From there I headed to Cherokee and dropped off some donations to New Leaf.  I picked up Tyler and we went to Cooks on the hill where they are living now.  We put to gather the thrift store puzzle, missing 10 pieces.  Then we went to Blooming House and I bought a $22 perenial flower to put in the ground.  We looked at chicks in Bomgaars, went to their home, and back to Cook's Hill to visit before going home.  It was nice just to visit with Mandy and put together a puzzle.  At home Denny had cleaned the bunkhouse.  Lance had not been able to come, so Denny kept busy.  Mandy also gave me some medicine for my sunburnt/blistered lips.  Ouch!!  I really did it up poorly.  Uffda!!

Quite a bit done today... more than I expected.

Denny sorted thru his clothes and we have 2 big black bags to take to OGT tomorrow.  He blew leaves out of the machine shed to get ready for Lance and car work tomorrow.  I would do little and then rest little.  Do little and then rest little. All. day.long.  Hopefully the wind isn't blowing the daffodils too much and I can harvest some and put in coolbot.  I planted the ranunculus in the shade garden.  I planted spinach and radishes and arugula.  I put the rosemary in a pot and tilled the shade garden.  I picked up the biggest sticks in the from yard.  There was red sediment in water storage tank behind bunkhouse.  Denny sprayed it out with the pressure sprayer.  We moved deck furniture out of the garage.  Curtis L. stopped to visit.  Nice phone call from Missy tonight after my shower.  She was getting ready for school.  They have decided to miss the Thailand team conference.  If you are reading this please say a prayer that all goes well with the end of school year and staffing for next year.  

Home ...

We left the hotel about 7 and stopped at McD for breakfast.  Well, we determined that with $17, spent at McD, we could have gotten a better/just as good meal at the hotel.  We left about 7:15 with a 6-7 hour drive ahead of us.  We  listened to DAB, Pastor Dave's sermon last week and to Rory's sermon last week.   Uffda!!  As we are approaching Denison Denny drove 12 hours yesterday, and it will be 8 1/2-9 hours today.  We put on 2750 miles since we left Iowa last December.  The Rav 4 just turned over 34000 miles just now.  Mileage says 26.4  miles to the gallon.  About 1300 miles from the farm to 4 Seasons., About 50 gallons of gas @ $3,25 = about $160 for driving home. We stopped in Denison for groceries at WalMart.   Home, unload, walk around yard.  Enough.  Glad to be home!!!

Heading north

The alarm went off after 4 am.  We were stopping at Whataburger at 5:45.  Sister call at the border patrol station about 2 hours from Brownsville.  Lord, grant us safe travel home.   It is now 1:30.  We have stopped for gas a couple of time.  I have gotten A LOT of catching up on my blog done.  Thank You Jesus!!  We're almost to Dallas.  Next year we'll make our own coffee, (What burger coffee was bad) Wait until day break to leave. (We both have a hard time seeing in the dark).AND not stop at any questionable gas stations ... (Uffda, the one we just stopped at was nasty!)  Gotta love life!!   We stayed overnight at the Hilton Garden in of North Oklahoma City/Edmond.  Just happened that it was the same one we stayed at on the way to Texas in December.  It was clean, nice comfy bed, with a restaurant, and Breakfast for $.   We ate at the restaurant and then went to bed. 12 hours of driving time is plenty!!!

Getting All ready

Yesterday Denny went to work and got so much done to get ready to leave.  This morning we worked together cleaning, taking to the trash, I met with the BSF gals for discussion of this weeks lesson.  We went to the pool for most of the afternoon,' cause all was done in getting ready to go back to Iowa.  Judy stopped by and cut my hair.  We napped, loaded the plants,  and went to Church's chicken to get supper.  After we ate we went to tell people at the park like, Sandy and Bill, etc, goodbye.                                                  Kathy and Daughtersin Jamaica.

Thank you for giving to the Lord, We are blessed because of it.  We pray you are having a great day!!

I played PB in the am.  At noon Haley did my nails.  I asked God on the way to give me an opening and boldness to talk to Haley about You.  SO amazing!!  She started the conversation by saying how she has ben really listening and being obedient to what God is telling her  I was so encouraged.  Her eyes even looked clearer.  Lord, continue to work in Haley's life, give her the strength and power to be obedient to our voice.   In the afternoon I went to the pool and Denny washed the car.  I made good use of the air water mattress that I got last year at a garage sale.  SO relaxing!!  I took the trike, box and brown grocery bag. When I got back Denny had almost everything ready to head north.
