tackle weeding

Oh, my lots of weeding.  I worked all morning on basement cleaning and upstairs organizing.  It was a quarter to 2 when I started weeding.  Uffta!! for the weeds.  I hoped for a miracle.  Nope, just work and little improvement.  Denny came home and finished planting the garlic that he and Brooks started last night.

Can you dig it?

Up and started cinnamon rolls.  Then I went out and weeded again.  Brooks came out when he got up.  I finished weeding the whole rectangular flower bed and transplanting some sunflower seedling in spaces where the rabbits/cats uprooted the baby plants. We took D54 to Danbury then Oto, then to the dig site south of Anthon.  It was pretty interesting to see.   The area was marked off in one miter squares.  The diggers worked on going down one miter by one miter by one miter one slice at a time.   If their shovel hit something it was marked with a flag on a wire.  Then as the artifact was uncovered a measurement tool was used that gave the gps in longitude, latitude and elevation.   They liked the cinnamon rolls I brought.  At home we took naps.  Missy called and was interested in some help mowing.  She still feel pretty crummy.  Denny came home early thinking he needed a new phone because his wouldn't charge.  Some PB blaster helped make the connection.  We went over to mow after Denny got the new belt on the Dixon.  Denny had a transitional meeting at 7.  Nice visit with Deb, bnb.

Pictures of shower game ... Try to figure out what is in this diaper!!!!  smell, feel, taste.  Can you dig it?

Monday June 12

Beautiful morning.  Thank you, Jesus for the wonderful weekend.  I love our family and I love this place we live that accommodates everyone so easily.  I spent the morning just slowly working on getting things kinda restored.  And I spent quite a bit of time trying to get ahead of the weeds that have taken over my garden.  About 12 I went and picked snow peas at the high tunnel then I headed to Carroll to pick up Brooks.  Brooks was in Ames for a couple of days, but Great g'ma Bette has fallen and so G'ma Laurie is going to be with her in the hospital.  We went to one thrift store where Brooks got some soccer shin guards.  At home we made a pan of brownies.  Denny got supply for bnb.  Deb and Connie took chairs down by the road, drew, and enjoyed the view.  Denny weeded, I weeded, Brooks played as a sweet 7 year old does.

Such a full life, I forgot to post on Saturday!!

What can I write?  It was such an amazing full day.  Cooks were in charge of breakfast.  Burritos.  We had a pink/blue baby shower at 9:30.  Jan came down and joined the women of our family.  Very windy outside, but it was a pretty day and we had so much fun with games and prizes (that we could actually keep and not have to give to the mom to be:)  And it was windy!   We moved the table when we saw a loose branch over our heads. Jensen's got a call that their van was ready in Kiron, so instead of giving Phillip a ride, Luke ran down 8 miles to drive the van home.  The rest of the guys moved Sich's hot tub to the grain bin cement pad and plugged holes and filled it with water.   (Kane said the hot tub was his favorite thing of the weekend.)   The kids set up the slip and slide.  Lunch by Mo. Johnsons (along with playing with Rose).  One of the best parts of the weekend was nap time (for everyone) for at least an hour.  Then more kickball, soccer, playing with Rose.  Minn Johnsons made tacos for supper.  Pete, Carol, Phil and Julie joined us.  Great food and conversation.

Amazing

Up and Denny fixed egg with cilantro and onions and 4 cups of cheese for breakfast.  oh, ya, GOOD... I got cavitini in the oven on a timer.  After church Meg C. took a family picture.  Thanks Missy for thinking of that and thinking of a place where we would all fit and where the fun would not be odd on our faces.  Also thanks that the Mo. Johnsons did not fall off the loose rock ledge.  There was a quarterly business meeting after church, I came home to get lunch ready, Families came home to pack up.  Cavatini, spinach salad, blue/pink fluff, FM bars, pink/blue drink.  Missy and Phillip took kids to Hidden Acres and Brooks to spend time at Grandma Lauries.  Later that night Laurie found out the her mom Bette fell and broke her hip.  Denny started cleaning the bnb and i worked at the outside.  After bedding was washed and beds were made I went to Michael and Michelle's 25th anniversary party.  Very nice.  Back home Deb and Connie got here about 6:30. jk We chilled and visited under the big maple tree and gave them an outside tour before heading to their bnb apartment.  Denny did his laundry and we watched Heartland before heading to bed.
What an amazing weekend!  Thank you so much for the tremendous Christmas present!! Love you guys.

Full day

Up early to start making rolls for FM.  Un hitched the motorcycle trailer, struggled to take off strap that stabilized the bikes in the back of the truck, but Denny helped me get it.  I followed Missy to Kiron to give her a ride back after they get van checked.  I picked spinach and Missy loaded chairs in pickup.  At home I baked a batch of  rolls, got ready for Dave Wilken's funeral.  Lots of people there.  Bible study at 1:30.  Isaiah got engaged to Amanda; to be married August 19.  Bnb guests Kristen and Phil came.  Loaded up car,  FM at 4:30.   Great $2 burger.  Sold about $50.  At home Denny mowed ... until dark thirty ... and I started to weed.  Boy there is lots to weed!!!
