Denny's first day off

Cherokee fun!!!!  I left about 6:30.  Jason said that Jack had not had a very good night.  The day did go well for me.  Jack is so close to rolling over that I think I could blow him over.  While Jason came nome for lunch Jack was sleeping.  I went out on a quick "thrift store" fix.  I really like the bistro table at New Leaf.  Wish it wasn't so far to Brownsville; I think it would be perfect for the deck.

Chilling in the sunroom.  I do love spending time with Denny.  He is not fond of me pulling the heater in front of me, but he tolerates my idiosyncrasies.  Kick off the shoes,  Sit and visit.  Watch the evening go by.    Thank you Jesus for my blessings.

Day of rest :)

Just wondering ... Who is visiting my blog from Tuscaloosa, Alabama?     When I go to Feedjit I see that you are checking my blog and I am just wondering who you are.
I laughing say ... "You must have no life.  Kinda like my life."    :)

Lovely relaxing day.  I went to Hope E Free, Phillip gave the sermon.  Then home,  Denny and I watched Heartland in bed and napped.  He looked on line for Texas purchases.  I went to Cherokee about 8:30.  Such great news for Balders!!!!

Finished !!!!

I fixed scrambled eggs, coffee, bacon. Jean fixed toast, grands liked the thawed strawberries with whipped cream.  Denny went to work, Schrums left for Schleswig, Phillip went to put snow fence up, I finished the book Wonder.  At 11 I went to get sandwiches for Petersons and stopped to see Darlys's place.  Lazy afternoon, Jensens picked us up for Bridge fundraiser at 5.  Nice evening, good food.  Buehlers finished harvesting about 4.  Denny figured he worked about 24 days in a row.  They took Sundays off, but worked every Saturday except the one when it was raining.  (That day we went and bought a new washer and dryer.)  The 4 Wednesdays he only worked until 4, so he could be at Awana.  He figured he averaged over 11 hours a day.   They did not stop and eat together, but mainly ate their noon lunch and supper sandwich in the cab of the tractors.  Once they came to Odebolt for the Methodist church Hunters Lunch where I joined them.  One noon Luke G. from Pioneer and the CPS guy brought out burgers and had Brian and Denny eat their sandwiches and visit in the back of their pickup.   After each day was done they brought all the equipment back to the home place.   It was a full month of working.  Denny says he is gonna treat himself to a chiropractor appointment and a massage now that harvest in done..  Hard working man!!!  He is ready for a break.  But he earned Fun Money and spent some of his time in the tractor cab figuring what he wanted to buy for his winter Texas time.  Electric high pressure sprayer, grill, deck table and chairs, mattress, perhaps flat screen tv, compfy deck chairs,   Fun to dream.  He also spent time doing learning Spanish by doing Pimsleur every day.  I am trying to learn some Spanish, but I am kinda struggling.   Cute pics that Missy took of Grands and MaryAnn.

Left for Cherokee about 6:25.  Nice day with Jack.  Jan came over for coffee and she fed Jack at 11.  He took 2 good naps.  I left for home about 5:15 and stopped for some groceries.  I headed to bed to read. Schrums came about 8:30.  They are staying here before going to help Arlen's sister tomorrow.  Denny got home from work about 8:45.  Lots of good snacks and talking and stayed up way too late.   Denny fell out of bed???  Uffta!!!

Fighting a cold

Kinda lazy am.  At least I did not take too much cold medicine last night.  I worked on Pimsleur with laptop and phone.  Uffta!!! I can't remember the words.  At 11 I went to get lunches in Schleswig for Julie and took them to the Henningson field.   I got a haircut from Anna at 12:30.  Study at Ginny's 2-4.  At home I fixed some peanut soup and picked up Brooks at 6:15 and took him to wrestling.  I went to Shirley H's visitation.  The timing worked out perfectly.  I was so glad I went.  I met Shirley some how and I remember she was the first person to invite me to church.  She went to Faith Lutheran in Odebolt.  I played softball with her.  She was a slowpitch pitcher.  Ila her sister in law played first.  They were both about 55+ when we played.  I walked thru the visitation with Sue, who played softball with us.  Sue and Kris, a daughter were really fun to play ball with.  Mary another daughter had cut my hair for about 6 years. Quite an amazing family.   Shirley Hemer  had a lived a life that was full of celebration!!!!   Thirteen really fine kids ... 42 grands ... 42 great grands.    A span on 20 years between the oldest and youngest children.

Early over ... Early out

Missy had mock trial today near Counsel Bluffs, so I went over early to their house.   I took nite time cold medicine last night and Denny woke me up at 6:13.  Uffta!!! Dropped off kids at school before 8.  Called Julie on the way and I will drop off noon meals for them tomorrow.  I came home and went to the warm bed and napped and did Pimsleur.  At 12:30 I headed to Odebolt to pick up grands for early out.  We put together Christmas boxes with MaryAnn at the nursing home and then went to Dollar General to get things to fill them. Mary Ann sent the babysitting quilt home with me.   At home we ate brownie sundaes and whipped cream and then we made salad rolls.  They turned out great!!! I sent cavatini home with them.  We left for Awana.

full day

Denny left for grain carting and I went to the Orpan train from 8-11.  Then I SC.  I stopped at WIT and paid for my flower arranging class.  It was from 1:30-3.  I met Joe at his dorm and we went on a Walmart run.  We ate at subway and I headed to ride with Denny in the grain cart from 6-7.  Next to BV to watch a holocost movie and give Laura a ride home afterward.  It was a long day.  I took 2 swigs of nite quill last night.  I didn't put it in the little cup, just swigged.  And boy, I slept sound from 10:30-5:30.  I got up for devotions then, but went back to bed from 6-8 Uffta!!  All day I felt sluggish.  Note to self... Next time measure before medicate.
