Sat Feb. 26

Hard to lay in bed for my 8 hours when I didn't go to bed until 11. Uffta! Denny didn't really appreciate it when I put on my head light and read from 3:30- 4:00 and then slept until 5:30.I got a neat sweatshirt present from Diane W. yesterday. Thanks for being the best friend through out the many years! Now if I can just chisel out the time to call you and thank you and visit. We were on the road to SC by 8. We looked at the green house I almost bought in BC. I met some HS at Panera, Denny got stuff at Menards, but no green house. The plastic one looked pretty cheeesey. The other one cost too much. At home he napped while I worked on am IEP. Then he went out and did chores (fed the livestock around here - goat and chickens). Missy and Phillip are visiting Aunt Karen and Tom in Minnesota this weekend. About 7 we got cleaned up and went to Ashley S.'s wedding reception.

Friday Feb. 25

Happy Birthday to me!! Coffee at folks with A&E. Then to Odebolt to observe another SPED teacher for 4 hours. Then bank and home at 6. Mike and Brenda picked us up and we went to Charlie's for supper with Paulsruds and Goodenows. Wonderful night. Notice on Birthday cake that Grandpa J has had a piece taken out to try to make sure it was safe for the rest of us to eat. Nice gifts from SPED ladies and Brend.

Thursday Feb 24

Coffee at folks. I headed to school early to put cinnamon rolls in teachers lounge before the staff got there. Success!!! No one saw that I brought them. I put a note on them that they were baked last night and would taste better if microwaved 10 -25 seconds. As I got busy with my morning about 30 minutes later the gals from the resource room said...Are these roll from you? ... I hemmed and hawwed... We thought so when we saw the little instructions. Oh, my , the habits of my age. Sue and Teresa met me at the hospital for my lunch hour... no make that my lunch 20 minutes. Tax appointment at 5:00. Home with pizza Hut $10 stuffed crust. To GGny for Chocolate cake...YUM! Now to get an assignment submitted that didn't go through right last night when I tried to submit it. UFFTA

Wed. Feb. 24

Coffee at folks with Anabel. So fun to have her go along. She said Look what I see grandma, " It's sky blue purple," and it was. :) After school I brought M, B, C and M to the farm. Amazing! They loaded up all the broken appliances on the trailer ready to haul away. Anabel and Howard went to SC on Monday for Howard's feet. When I got home from school today I mixed up 5 dozen cinnamon rolls and baked them when I got home from Awana. I talked to KS about visiting her SPED classes on Friday. M&C didn't go to youth group. I submitted an assignment, but it didn't come thru right. Lord help me with the things that cause stress in my life. May I trust you more. Thank you God that you are always with me.

Tues day Feb. 22

I hate it when my pictures don't get posted on this site. I don't know what I can do about it. It seems like I have to wait until the stars align. Anyway no pictures yet. ( March 13 up date... The picture is of our new ceiling fan in the laundry room. See the nice fan blades? The plastic ties really work well to keep the fan hanging in the rafters. I'm happy with it. At least the fan is not blowing on me when I am sitting . :) Coffee at folks. I worked after school until 6:15, then Denny called me. He had a hair cut in IG then went back to the bank to work. At home we changed clothes then headed out to the coop. I tryed again...still no pictures are being posted on the site. BLAH!! Nice wisit with Denny in the coop. It seems like ages since we've talked.

Monday Feb. 21

Coffee at folks, Denny is home today. Plumber came to clean out pipes. Presidents Day. After school at 5, Jensen's and Denny met me at Mid American parking lot and we went up together to go to Girl's BB game. They dropped me off at HS and they went to get Casey's pizza. I got front row seats for the game. The girls won and are going to State tournament. Pretty exciting. There were lots of fans in the gym. Good game to watch against Hull Western.

Sunday Feb. 20

Looking forward to spring and summer. It was raining this morning. Sure enough the sump pump is running. It's only Feb. and the water table is that high. :( The green room pump has not kicked in yet, Denny put in 5 gallons of water and it does pump. Oh my, hope we don't float away this spring. It doesn't seem to be a very good start. Donuts before SS. Denny gave Stangls a ride. Naps after church. I worked on this weeks classes at HS. Prayer time at church. Nice visit with Matt on way home. Sorry family that I'm such a worry wart. Just not trusting God for my concerns with Mornigside class and at HS. Help me Lord, Trust you more.

Saturday Feb. 19

I went to coop to read for Morningside 532. Denny went to town to get new blades for chainsaw. He cut up firewood in afternoon. I sat by computer all afternoon working on Morningside 532. Four teenagers were out to help finish cleaning the barn with Phillip. At night we went to church for spaghetti supper. It was really a nice time. Lot of laughs.

Coffee at folks with Laurie, E&A. After school Phillip brought E&A to town and I took them to Cherokee for girl's BB game. We stopped at Holstein store going out of business and got some things for the Awana store. Then to McD's. I rested while they ate in the car, then to Dollar General, Then to the BB game. The girls won. Purple and Black.

Thursday Feb 17

Coffee at folks. After school I headed to Charter Oak to go to Morningside ICN class. At least we had it (rather than not checking the email and not finding out the class was canceled 2 weeks ago). That was not one of my swifter moves. Grandma Laurie came to the farm on Wed. She babysat in am while Missy subbed. Plus she is going to stay and watch kids Friday so Missy can sub again on Friday. Nice short visit with Laurie after class. The weather today made me miss fires in the pit. I guess enjoy the warm, it will change Friday afternoon the weathermen say. THAT'S IOWA!!

Wed. Feb. 16

Anabel got the monitor off. They will not find out the results for maybe a week. After school I headed to Denison to meet Gail and Bruce for supper. We ate at El Jimadors. Good food. Nice to sit and visit. Then up to Arthur to take CM and MT home. The grands love to go to GGnys and look at books.

Tuesday Feb 15

These are the Ladies of the NW Iowa Riders. They are a fun bunch. Nice to eat with some of them last night. Yesterday Anabel got a 24 hour monitor to watch her heart. After school I walked with the gals in the halls, then to Odebolt. Laura wanted another set of eyes to look at a house she is thinking of using.From there back to IG for a home school meeting at Julie L. Missy came and brought Anabel. Then Anabel and I went to the girls BB game. They won!! On the road to State. May they keep playing well, But it is a sport, so one game at a time.

Monday Feb. 14

Happy Valentine's Day!! We love you all so much! I fixed breakfast for my Valentine. That's unusual, we usually fix our own. Coffee at folks. IEP for JM at 8. After school I stayed and worked until Motorcycle meeting at 5:30. After the meeting we went to Charlies for supper. Quite a long wait on Valentine's day. Nice bunch of people. I came home about 8 .

Sun Feb 13

Donuts before church. After church Denny got groceries. I worked on class. Whitneys had called yesterday and were going to be in IG. They came out for supper. It was so great to see them. We had sauted mushrooms and little smokies in the Coop while we visited. Then Denny had grilled hamburgers and salad for supper down in our apartment.

Sat Feb. 12

Denny worked at Odebolt bank. I started at 8 and worked on Morningside 532 most of the day. Missy came down and helped me set up lessons for Ind. Liv for the next couple weeks. I have so many papers of so many different things and they are all mixed up. I don't know how to keep track of everything. And I"M suppose to help the students be more organized? Mandy emailed Denny with pic of her new car and the story about how "It's not good enough" was good enough. Phillip had 3 youth (MW,BW,CM) out and used his "new" livestock trailer to move about 12 -55 gallon trash bags of corn cobs out of Pete and Whitney's basement and to our old sow shed. They will be great for starting fires in the coop. They ate lunch in coop and we joined them for brownie sundaes. Denny is busy getting knowledgeable on our Iphones. He was pretty tickled that Mandy took a picture of her new car's vin number and mailed it to him. When he wasn't sure of the number he could just enlarge the picture with the tip of his finger and read the number. Now he is putting my contacts in my new phone. I took E&A to girl's BB game. They won first game of tournament road to state. It was much fun! A short lesson on how when you're with grandma you don't ask to go home. E learned quick.

Friday Feb 11

My favorite color was out in full force this past week. There have been three great sunrises. SKY BLUE PINK Isn't it just beautiful? Coffee at folks. Anabel must have taken her antibiotic pill with out enough food in her tummy. She got a little nauseous while we were there. After school I walked the halls for about 25 minutes with the other gals. Then to the bank to work til 6. We stopped at folks. They are going to Elmer's memorial tomorrow. At home we relaxed then went to visit the neighbors and have great granny's sugar cookies and ice cream. And watch Little House. Denny typed an assignment for me, while I worked on another assignment. Mandy called wanting information about car insurance. Guide her, Lord, as she looks for another vehicle.

Happy Birthday Nancy! Look at those 2 cousins 2 years and 1 month apart! Coffee at folks I went to school early, but no meeting. After school I stopped at Dose garage sale. Then home. Missy subbed at in first grade today. Tot was here after school. I can't even remember what we did. How that for an exciting life?

Tues Feb. 8

Rode bike 15 minutes. Coffee at folks with E&A. I told E that A might not bring him home a tootsie roll pop if he doesn't go see Ggny too, so he hurried and got his coat and boots on. Denny brought them home because I had a meeting at 7:45. (not everyone showed up for the meeting.) I had an IEP after school. These pix were taken at the girls' BB game I took the little one to.

Monday Feb. 7

Coffee at folks with little A. Pretty cute. On the way back to her house she said,"Sy bue pink Grandma." She knows my favorite color is sky blue pink. We don't often see it in the morning. Some times we call it sky blue grey, or sky blue yellow. It was nice to see the pretty pastel color this am. Another day at school. I walked/jogged 25 minutes after school in the hallways. Then to the bank to work until 7. OUCH Denny was happy he got another LPS done. Great supper waiting for us.

Sunday Feb. 6

Donuts with Gma before SS. Nick S. went in the ditch. Denny drove the Malibu and now he knows that it has no traction, like I've told him. Last night he worked on shutting the sliding door on machine shed to protect the pickup. When he came in he said he couldn't get it open again. So hopefully he can get the door working so I can take the pickup tomorrow. EAM&P went sledding for Abby's bday party. We are putting Brooks down. Quite the cute guy. He tries to stand against anything that he can pull himself up on. The family is going sledding at Moorehead Park with church families. Big change for us- Denny installed a ceiling fan in 5 minutes in the bathroom in our apartment. And I'm really happy with it. We had a standing oscillating fan blowing on me when I used the bathroom. He took it and hung it from the ceiling of the bathroom with plastic zip ties. How fancy is that. Of course it doesn't oscillate, but it doesn't blow on me either. We went to Gordon and Sue's for the game. Nice to be there. Denny made me not take any work along.

Sat Feb 5

Up early. The Prius was scheduled for an oil change at 8. Weather might get slippery so Denny drove. We got lots done. Oil changed, WW weigh in ok, Got a black wool suite for Denny at Penneys. Reg. coat $240 pants $95 ... whole suit for $115. We went through the check out 4times. using coupons for 10 off $50 3 times and $15 off $75 one time. He got a lot of clothes suit, black shirt, belt, 2 ties, another pair of pants, I got a pair of grey pants. Then when we went across the street to a resale shop. I got a pair of pants for $4 that I liked better, so I took the Penney's pair back. Also got 2 Little kitty clothes for A. Denny went to Bomogaars to get another recycle trash container, HyVee for some milk, And we spent a bunch at Wal-mart and made it home before the noon Birthday party dinner. Little Kitty- Fight like a Girl theme. Grandma A had 5 teeth pulled yesterday, yet she just keeps fighting. I took a nap in afternoon and worked on Morningside 532. About 6:30 we had nieghboors in for pre super bowl snack party. (I got some super snacks for Sunday and thought we may as well share some. We played CandyLand and Guess Who. I went to bed at 9.

Feb. 4 2011

Happy Birthday ANABEL Feb 4 Before school I had coffee with the folks. After school 3 teachers worked on rubric for assessing writing on students. That I tough. Now the other 3 know haw bad I am at grammar, punctuation and sentence structure. Some how I think that sentences with because need a comma before because. That's just one error I make, UFF TA!! Then I walked with VE and SC for 30 minutes in HS building, then to Arthur bank. Anabel wanted to swimming for her birthday so Denny and I watched Brooks while thier family headed to rec center. Nice night. So sweet to hold a sleeping baby.

Thursday Feb. 3 13043

Coffee at folks Then I drove pickup to school. Rescheduled IEP meeting for SR. Ind Liv browned the hamburger for tomorrow's taco Grande. Carlie and I went to get Groceries for Ind liv. gas and pizza for Denny and myself tonight. After school I went to get Denny at the bank and we drove to Charter Oak for my ICN Morningside class. Way to go Faith! It was cancelled and I hadn't checked the Morningside Portal email to find out. I drove Denny back to Arthur where he worked on LPS's til about 11. I was so bummed I went home and did nothing. The worst part was "your teacher will incorporate an additional activity with one of the current assignments in place to account for these missed class hours". Ouch I don't have time to get done what is assigned now. Thank you Jesus you never give us more that You can handle. Wish I had time to go to St. Joe to read a book.

Wed Feb. 2

2 hour late start. Denny and I went for coffee at folks. They headed to SC. It has been a month since she had a cancer check. They didn't get to see their regular doctor (who had called in sick). One funny thing was that the new doctor noted on her chart that she had a daughter that was a nurse. I guess Linda has made herself known enough that is was part of the info. :) I drove up to school and Kim B. drove past and said she got stuck on a east-west road. School was cancelled. I told her our predicament about only having one 4 wheel drive vehicle. She volunteered to follow me to Arthur and take me home, because it was a north-south road. I spent most of the day working on Morningside 532 (one hour out for Littlehouse and kids). I read out in the chilly coop from 2 to 6. A fire was going, but didn't get very warm. Phillip had Matt, Michael and David out to sled with their family. Fun ... but not as much as skiing in Colorado. Great picture of LM&M AWESOME!

Tuesday Feb. 1

Two hour late start. Denny and I took the pickup to Arthur and then I drove to school. First vehicle in the parking lot. Vicki came pretty soon after I got there. Then about 9 there was a call for staff to come to the office ... yes, school was canceled for the day. I worked at school until 10:30 then drove to Arthur and Denny brought me home. From 11 to 4 I worked on Morningside 532. (I did take a hour for Little House with little kids.) Luke called about four and we talked for over an hour. Good to hear from him. He was sent home from work because of the weather and work was cancelled for Wed. That has never happened since he has worked there. I was encouraged when Luke said the first year he worked at AO he felt like he was walking in a fog. That's exactly the way I feel. Sometimes when I am driving home ... or to school it just seems like a fog surrounds me. It's amazing the way God works. Mary Jo's Caring Bridge blessing was: May the God of the universe show you compassion today. May his mercy extend towards you and give you peace. May you know our eternal destiny is far from trouble and suffering. May you praise him even when you don't see the answers that you want. May you bless His unfailing nature and character, as He sees the big picture and we, just a dim and FOGGY blur. God bless you. God speaks to us in many different ways. The skiing picture was taken Friday. Luke hurt his ribs that day and didn't ski Saturday. Both Denny adn I used the bike - 20 min me- 30 min Denny. Denny has done lots of LPS's this week already.
