Easter

Up about 7 to get ready for church at 8. Gail sang in the choir and we rode with Bruce to get Marion before the 8 am service. After church we had biscuits and gravy. Then we left for Indianola. Katie, Everett, Adam, Nancy, 5 Hendersons, 2 Johnsons, 2 Schrums and Hannah were there. Good to see Scott and Beth. After a great meal, we watched Scott on TV. Nice relaxing day. Denny drove home. Everett is a cutie. I left Nancy a necklace that the clasp had come off. She said she is starting to go through things for a garage sale that I volunteered to help with in May after I am done with school. Pictures are all of Everett. Everyone wanted to hold him.

On the farm with Grandpa

Up at 7. Kane didn't get awake until almost 8. Grandpa fixed sausage for the Grands down here. I did wash and phoned in another order from Burpees. About 10 we all went outside. The weather was great. I cleaned up some flower beds, Gpa looked at the grill. AT noon we ate chicken Alfredo and mixed vegetables with Jensens, Then Kane got a shower from Gpa and he went down for a nap. We met Hirschmans about 4 for the kid exchange in Holstein. It was great having Kane at the farm. He played so nicely. Pretty cute… when you put a handkerchief up to blow his nose. He blows with his mouth instead of through his nose. Also, that Johnson young man knows that a toot is funny. I was changing his diaper and he passed gas and laughed right out loud. Cute. Later the next morning as I was in the bathroom getting ready he came in. I didn’t really know he was there and I must have let one slide. He laughed right out loud again and said …”toot?” That guy kept us smiling the whole time he was here. From Holstein we went to IG Bomgaars to find parts for grill. Then to Denison Bomgaars to look for more parts. The Denison store had a grill on clearance and so we decided to get it and return the parts. Next we drove to Atlantic to eat Mexican with Gail and Bruce and spend the night there. We played 5. Nice to spend time with them. Pictures are of the Thursday night we picked up Kane. Denny wanted to go to Bomgaars and so we did. Kane liked to look at the Chicks, but wasn't really enthusiastic about touching them.

Well, maybe not. Kane woke up at 3:30 needing a drink and I recovered him: he went right back to sleep until 7. Sanity and Insanity for me. All 4 Grands were down for the start of the morning, having cereal and playing with toys. Kane and I took the jeep to get oil changed in Odebolt at 11.He played so nicely in the waiting area. Naps at 1. I worked on World Geography assignment on the web. We all went outside about 3. Great afternoon. Got 2 pails of dalias out of root cellar. So nice to not have school today. The last picture is of Grandpa and Kane right after Grandpa had kissed Kane and rubbed Kane with his beard. OUCH!

Sanity and insanity. There was APPY HOUR at school today. We met in the Smith Lab and learned about the app Freerice. American History class today. My English student had a couple probes to do during class and we finished the Am. history test. First houor made a loaf of bread to learn about chemical reactions. Met Hirschmans in Holstein to get Kane. We stopped by the Arthur bank and Denny came with us to Boomgaars to get some wood screws, Then to Stangls to look at Amy's car. Needed power steering fluid. uick supper and afterward Denny went tout to fix the bunk house door. Pictures from swimming in Rec center with Grands. Alll students here today for me:)

Sanity and insanity. Am history test tomorrow. One student has been gone 2 out of three days this week, and today I spent SH with him doing 2 probes to get ready for his IEP. 6th hour English wrote and I put it into a poem. Pretty good day. After school I dinged around at school. Then home, Denny had salad ready and Luke called. Pictures are of Kane and Brooks having fun together and being fun Grands.

Site visit and rec center

Sanity and insanity. To school later than usual, but still 20 minutes early. Oh, yes first hour student said he was sick and wanted to go home, His ride was out of town, and I decided not to call her and make sure she couldn't give him a ride. He did stay in school and make it the whole day. Come to find out he took his meds without eating anything. That would make me throw up too. One English student gone again and the runner wasn't there. AFter school there was a site meeting with DE with Sped teachers until 5. Visited with teachers afterward and then went to set up a time for an IEP. Next to rec center. Denny had walked 3 miles and was on the bicycle. At home we had soup and then decided to go to the coop to finish it. It was nice out there. Missy came out and siad ti was smokey. Yup, it was. Pictures are of Grands, Haley and Anabel were doing their fingernails and I didn't even get them in the picture. They all poked spagetti into hot dogs and we boiled both of them together. I saw the idea someplace and gave it a try. Went over pretty well.

Monday back at school

Sanity and Insanity. Left early to get groceries for Independent living. At school the Juniors took ASFAB service test, so I didn't have 2 classes this am. Independent living class fixed cupcakes, Ham and potato caserole, fruit salad. After school Kids came down while I watched news and napped. We ate with Jensens, YUM!!! Pork Chops, rice, salad, and corn. Dan G. came to visit.

Sunday donuts

Sanity. Up for donuts, even though we were kinda slow moving this am. Anabel sang the cutest little song on th eay to church. She said she learned it at Cubbies. After church we took Eric, the sound guy, Jensens and Michael to eat a Aunt B's. Very good. Then naps. and Financial Peace at 3:30. Home to look thru my check register for taxes. Uffta! An Email From Cathy letting me know that not all probes were recorded for March. But March is not over yet. Lord, help me do better................................................................

Saturday with Grands

Sanity and insanity. Kids got up at 7, the appointed time to leave their bedroom. Denny worked inOdebolt and so he left about 7:45. We had honey nut cheerios and cold breakfast pizza. Kids played downstairs with us. About 9 they went upstairs and played leggos and Polly Pockets. Then fingernails. KIds stabbed hot dogs with Speghetti for lunch. About 10 we went outside Kids went to cousin hideout then had to do the chores. Kids had fun feeding lambs, then chasing pigs. Phillip left Evan in charge of the bottle fed lambs. It was pretty cute. We explored by the creek. One time we jumped across the creek, then later I put down a plank for the Grands to walk over a place that was wider. Back to the coop to start a fire. Then in to warm up. Denny came home and we ate hotdogs with spagetti and salad and carrots. Kane went down great. Asleep in 5 minutes Jensens had 6 youth out. Missy fed them pancakes and coffee cake. Brooks went down and after lunch plates wer cleaned up we finished watching the butter Cream Gang. Kane woke up about 1:20. Short nap. We left for down about 2:15. Swam at Rec Center until 5 when we had pizza with Hirschmans. Grands went home with them. I read AR book while Denny met at church with sound guy Eric. Later we chilled and stayed up too late listening to music. Nice day with Grands.

Sanity and Insanity. DJ did some. I actually tried to use the Promethean board. After school I met Frank and Jenny in Holstein and we stopped at Arthur before heading home. Pictures are of visit... Regular day

Sanity and insanity. Tried the Promethean board at school. After school came home and an insurance guy was here until 8. Uffta!! Pictures from random activities. Anabel making the big bucks vacuuming for quarters. The bottle lambs at our farm. Matt and Denny moving the big wardrobe to storage to make the bedroom appear larger.

Home School Iowa Assessments

Sanity and insanity. Went to school at regular time, then to the Lutheran church until 11;30 and administered Iowa Assessments. Then back to school. The runner wasn't there. I messed up on Am. History assignment. After school Denny and I met at the rec center. I ran 2 miles and then we walked 2 1/2 miles, Got groceries ..then home for great corned beef in the crock pot. YUM!!!
