take Mandy to airport

Up early and I did insanity.  Then headed to school.  Met in south color lab for a class for the second day.  Worked on Google Earth.  After school, I came home and helped Mandy by taking out elastic on Evan's pants. for the wedding. She and Denny carried a suitcase out to the bunkhouse.  On the way to to airport we looked at pictures in magazines and talked about wedding plans. Her plane left at 8:05 and we got there about 7:05.  She wasn't concerned about the time at all.

Mom, I miss you

Mom died in 2008 on this day. I sure miss her. Wish she could see how fun my kids and their families are. Wish I could be with her and talk to her. She is so important to my life.
I read my one a day before getting out of bed and then did Insanity in the living room.  I got a package of bulbs in the mail yesterday, but haven't opened them up to see what I got.  Some of the stuff has been ordered a long time ago.  I just ordered some plants - 75 that will be coming next week, so I talked to Phillip about needing some space out in the greenhouse.  He is doing some clean up and rearranging in the CSA barn.  Always lots to do.

He is Risen Indeed!!!!

Great day!! I read one a day in bed looking out at the Mississippi.  Then out to run ... One church was having a sunrise service at 7 am when I went out to run,  I watched for a while then down the hill 4 blocks ....  and I ran along Old Man River.  Mandy called as I was running so I got to visit with her on Easter walking down by the river.  On the way back, I ran ??? up Snake Alley.  We went to Harmony Easter church service.  It was great.  Good music,  about 8 people got baptized., about 20 people shared thru cardboard signs how Christ has made a differnce in their lives.  We ate in Mount Pleasant.  Mexican.  Then to head home after a really nice weekend with Karen and Luke.  On the way the dinger went off saying we were low in gas.  A little stress finding a gas station in Ottomwa.  But we didn't run out.  :)  I really don't know how to use phone and yelp (it didn't work( to find a gas station and that lead to stress. At home Denny paid bills, Missy brought down leftovers, I finished taking notes on a book and to bed. Fun weekend!!

Fun in Burlington

Up late for me, but my inner clock still got me up at 6.  It is a great view of the top of the trees and a distant view of the MIssissippi while lying in Luke and Karen's bed.  Luke fixed eggs for Denny, smoothie and PB toast for me and coffee for us all.  About 7:30 we headed to Wapella for the second annual Bunny Hop 5K.  I didn't get a t shirt, and took the wrong road, but still got my 45 minute workout done.  After I went back to run the loop I missed (no orange arrows to show me) I finished with 35 min 2 seconds, but a gal who finished earlity said I would have finished before her and her time was 32.  :)  :)  smile, smile.  For sure the route was a lot flatter than running the 4 miles around our section.   On the way there Karen was looking for directions and came upon the fact there was a Fea market in town that day.  We headed there after the race.  Wow.  They were using an old livestock sale barn and different consigners had put their things to sell in the livestock pens.  There were aleast 4 barns we walked thru and some venders outside.  Luke and Karen got a Wok and tomato plant for their fire escape window.  I bought a blue pitcher,  blue glasses and a box of writing notes.  At the apartment we chilled, looked a the news.   Luke got food ready to grill.  We ate lunch down on the first floor porch.  It was great.  Brats and grilled veggies. In the afternoon Luke started to make homemade  mozzarelli cheese.  Later we walked downtown to get some citric acid. He worked more on the cheese.  We started to play settlerrs of the Catan.  It was hard for us to quite, but a 8 we walked down to The Drake and ate a great meal outside looking at the Mississippi and the bridge.  Then back to finish the board game.   So relaxing to be here.  Bed at 11:30  Late for me.

Sister's fun before On the way to Burlington

gReat to spend the day with my sisters!!!! Gail and I got up and headed to Indianola with her driving. On the way there she saw that there was construction on the intersection with I35 south and you could not access the road when you are headed north.  Uffta What is the best way to get back to Atlantic??? Jean and Christy had breakfast ready when we got there. Scrambled eggs, waffles, grapes, OJ, and coffee.  Jean had hurt her knee last night and so we just hung out at her house visiting, wrapping packages, playing Chicken foot /Texas/ railroad dominoes.  It was so nice just to hang out with the sisters.  We had croissants and chicken salad, cut up vegetables and Sunchips for lunch.  About 11 Gail, Nan and I headed to Atlantic.  Remembering the construction on I35, we tried a different way back to Atlantic.  My trusty google maps took us down gravel roads.  Did I say for a long time?  Yes it was about 15 miles.  We had lots of laughs and finally made it.  Jean came with Arlan.  We went to the movie God's not dead.  I thought it was pretty good.  While we were geting out of the movie Denny called and said he couldl leave alittle early and so I met him in Carroll.  And off we went to Burlington. We got cold chicken from the gas station and we didn't stop unti outside their big house. Three flights up.  Spacious living space.  The house was built in 1902 for one family.  Now it has 7 apartments in it. It is ahuge house.  Fun to be there.
