Cherokee Boys

Brittany had her last patio prayer time this morning. I had slept terrible last night, so I did DAB early in the morning. My alarm was set a little later. From there I headed to Cherokee. We took pictures before Jack headed to his first day of TK. Transitional Kindergarten. Stacy is his teacher. Tyler played so nicely by himself. Around 9 we went to the wellness center. He had gotten a small blanket and some toys and played so quietly and nicely there. Afterwards he kicked the ball in the racketball courts and we putted some on the carpet. Next was the grocery store. I dropped off some lisianthus for Stacy by way of the Elementary office. Hope she got them. At home Jason fixed us wraps. Be Still My Heart. Tyler was SO sweet as he sang in his quiet voice, "Oh the WLord is good to me, and so I thank the WLord. For giving me the things I need, the sun and the rain and the apple seed. The WLord is good to me. Amen ...A,A,A,A." We picked up Jack at 2. Early out every Wednesday. Tyler gave him a sweet little hug when we met him. We stopped by the Law office patio and had cupcakes. And washed frosting off with the sprinkler. Then to Spring Lake park. It has a little shade. At home the boys played outside while I fixed chicken pot pie and banana muffins. When I got home I just went right to bed, tired girl. Tomorrow I plan to meet with Laura after school. Dad got the tires on the 72 today.

OGT and Home school picnic.

I left for OGT around 7:30 and volunteered until 11. At home I was working slowly. We put on the new to us Laura Ashley bedding in Luke's room. It looks so pretty. I finished lining the cabinent with fabric and we got it moved back out to the bunk house. The homeschool group was about 60+ and they came at 6. Quite a group. It was good to have them here. I had invited Nancy H also. She does the ordering, etc at the school. Always interesting to see that many kids and families. A little refrigerator teaching moment, hopefully.

Keenager's golf and Doctor Bissell

I got up to get the Keenager flowers into the car, devo done, and out the door for pickleball at 7:45. Oh, my, on the way to town I looked at the dash and yes, the dummy tire light was on. Uffda!! Well, I didn't turn around ... but I did call our buddy Carlyle to say I was headed into IG with the dummy tire light on. Then I called Terry L. to ask him to pick me up at the tire shop. There were 5 of us playing until 8:45. Then Becky 2 gave me a ride to get my car. When I got to Holstien to check in and pay, I realized I didn't have my fanny pack/purse with me. Uffda!! Double Uffda!! Before we got the the first green I had made some calls and located it. Hurrah!!! I had left it in Terry's truck. Now that was a huge relief! I played with Jackie as a partner and Carol and GiGi from Cherokee. Lovely day. Next I headed back to IG to get my lost item. Then to pay back Maebell for footing my golf bill. I went to the hospital to check in with Dr. Bissell. My knee had not been bothering me that much lately, so I was hesitant about keeping my appointment. I'm glad I did. My knee exrays from a couple of months ago showed a floating piece of wore from the repair of my broken patella in 1990. He had some concern and retook an xray to see if it had moved. He scheduled another in 2 months just to make sure it was stationary. Denny had xrays also and a corizone shot in his shoulders. He has carple tunnel surgery scheduled for September 12 and 26.

I listened to the book Four Winds before getting out of bed. Matt and Kane were in charge of the coffee bar at River of Life. Nice service. After church Becky came back from her Ladies weekend together. Denny had brought 7 T bones and he cooked them on the Blackstone. I fixed a salad and we had left over corn, green tomatoes, salty potatoes and watermelon. AND wonderful chocolate, rice krispies and syrup. We headed for home about 2:30.

Stone was his nick name... Black stone was his gain

I went outside for my sister phone call. It was chillier that Iowa and a blanket, sweatpants, sweatshsirt felt great. About 9 we headed to Elk River where Kane tried out a skate part on his rip stick. Then we went griddle shopping ... WalMart-Home Depot- Tractor supply company and then back to Walmart for the purchase. SO many blackstone options. 36 inch ... 28 inch ... with/without airpot ... table model 17 or 22 inch ... UFFDA!! AND what accessories to purchase???? Matt was happyy with his choice. Plus he had Denny and Kane to help him put it together. Matt had started ribs at noon for us to eat at 7:30. Denny fixed fried green tomatoes ... (the item that perciptated the need for the grill.) Luke and family came to hang out and have supper with us. What a nice day/evening!!! I love visiting on the front deck with the small pit fire blazing.

I made a quick stop at Doses and got a rose figured bed spread with matching sheets, shams, dust ruffle. We left to head north to Matts. We got there and the girls were gone, the phouse was full of guys. Matt had pork butt ready to eat with Iowa Sweet corn and Denny's Jalepinio poppers. Nice showing of Europe trip. I did go to bed when Denny and guys started viewing the '72 car restoration pictures.

49 years

I lay beside Denny for a while and then decided to get up and have devo. In the am went to Doses. I gave Julie P. a call and she joined us for coffee on the bunkhouse rockers. I weeded the flower garden, Denny cleaned the '72 in preparation of the Kiron fixing. Susan, Teresa, Sharon, Judy, Oksanna and Mary Kay came to study. Jenny H. texted us to ask if we would take meat to Matt's. She said she would come early evening and so we put off grilling until after she came. Well, her day got complicated and she decided not to come until tomorrow. The Tbone steaks and sinach/arugala salad were wonderful. We shared the cake from Oksanna. Pretty night with candles, nice music and my husband.

Lotsa pickleball

I got up and went to Brittanys patio for prayer at 6. I picked some sweeet corn at Master's to go and share with airbnbers. They loved it and the flowers I left out for them. I went in to play 3 hours of pickleball. It was a treat. I think it was this day that Denny made arrangements to have a guy from Kiron fix the '72 brakes. I moved the white stand from the bunkhouse into the sunroom to line it with pretty paper. A post from Facebook: I heard someone say a few days ago, “See, that just goes to show you that you can raise your kids in church all you want to, but…” It shattered my heart. All because that kid had made a mistake. All because that kid’s sin was brought to light. Let me just tell you…We don’t raise our kids in church so they can grow up perfect. We don’t raise our kids in church because it magically makes them unable to sin or holier-than-thou. We do however raise our kids in church so that WHEN they mess up and WHEN they fall short, they know just WHO to run to. So they know that their Lord anacebook. d Savior will NEVER leave nor forsake them no matter how big or small their mess up might be. So they know their Heavenly Father will always leave the 99 if they are that ONE that needs saving. So they will know what grace is like and give it out freely. So they will know the unconditional love of their Father and love those around them just the same regardless of anything else. So they know that there is absolutely NOTHING in this world they could do that our Savior’s blood hasn’t already covered. I will never apologize for raising my children in church. I will never apologize for making sure our family makes church a priority. Because it’s more than just a song and a sermon. It’s more than just a memorized Bible verse in Sunday School. It’s for when this cruel world we live in comes knocking on their door, they personally know the solid rock on which they stand. It’s so they know there is nothing too dirty, that He can’t make worthy. - Alex Pete

Golf canceled …

Missed the memo, so I drove to Fonda and then to Newell to visit Kelsey.  It was fun to see their new acreage.  I had put 10 bunches of flowers together this morning before going to golf, so I took them to Mandy’s clinic in Storm lake.

Home until we went for parts for 72.

It was a slow go this am.  I was still in bed when we had the sister call.  I spent most of the day doing projects that have gotten way layed.  I put down/ pickle sun flowers that were not too buggy.  plays cosmos, zinnias, lisianthus, status, in other words you name it I cut it and put in the cooler.   I painted some cement blocks to keep plants from falling over.  I painted head board for bunk house upstairs.  Denny worked on the brakes on the car.  About 4 we headed to Denison to get some parts for the 72L. and the airbnb guest called dining lost on the country roads.  Uffda!!  I don't know if they will stay tonight ... or head to Lemars.  Whatever.  I started to fix orange chicken, we'll eat it later.  I put some pictures together this am while I was still in bed,  It looks like Scott had quite an art display last night.
