Atlantic Rodeo

It was a beautiful morning out on the clean deck.   I went in to play pickleball 8-9. AND it was hot.    I left from there to go to Rodney's funeral.  Note to self:  there is no sink to wash up at the purple park.   I didn't realize the purple park didn't have a sink.  SO I just put in a dress and put the windows downy to dry my hair on the way to Arthur.  There were a lot of people there.  We went to the cemetery and the lunch by Best of Barb's was great!!!    After lunch at church I went to pick up the Grands at Goldsmith's.  They came out to the farm to play.  When I got home I started the sprinkler on the trampoline and Rose and Lincoln and 3 airbnb kids had a great time.     I left about 4 to watch Sam at the Atlantic Rodeo.
I got a refrigerator in Denison as I waited to meet Sherry and ride with her to Atlantic to watch Sam ride at the rodeo.  Hendersons and their Grands came to watch.  We were sitting close to the guard fence and a wild horse about took out the guard fence that we were behind.  Uffda!! Fun day!!

Grands at Cherokee

Up to play pickleball until 9:30.  I went to Goldsmiths and got Rose and Lincoln and drove their car to Cherokee.  From daycare we went to the museum.  There is lots to do there and the Grands loved it.  We ate lunch there and changed into swimsuits. After swimming we went to cooks.   Mandy fixed us hamburgers that we wolfed down when I got home.  While I was gone Denny shampooed all the carpets.  It felt so good on my feet.

Leaving on a jet plane

We were up at 3 and left about 4 to head to DM to catch a 10 am flight for the Jensens.  We got to the airport about 7.  Denny drove straight home with the RAV4 to clan the airbnb. I parked the Prius in the airiport lot and went into the terminal to visit with Laurie and Alan and Jensens family until they went to TSA about 8.  Next I visited Ted Ware Design.  Vey cool place.  I made a stop at Trader Joes, then drove home to help clean the basement.  Denny and I started washing and sorting bedding.   We have a lot of sheets. Update on Thursday:  From the time we left our front door until the time they entered their front door in Kathmandu, int was 43.5 hours.  Uffda!!

From Facebook:
Don’t feel sorry for or fear for your kids because the world they are going to grow up in is not what it used to be.  God created them and called them for the exact moment in time that they’re in. Their life wasn’t a coincidence or an accident.  Raise them up to know the power they walk in as children of God.  Train them up in the authority of His Word.  Teach them to walk in faith knowing that God is in control.  Empower them to know they can change the world.  Don’t teach them to be fearful and disheartened by the state of the world but hopeful that they can do something about it.  Every person in all of history has been placed in the time that they were in because of God’s sovereign plan.  He knew Daniel could handle the lions den.   He knew David could handle Goliath.  He knew Esther could handle Haman.  He knew Peter could handle persecution.  He knows that your child can handle whatever challenge they face in their life. He created them specifically for it!  Don’t be scared for your children, but be honored that God chose YOU to parent the generation that is facing the biggest challenges of our lifetime.  Rise up to the challenge.  Raise Daniels, Davids, Esthers and Peters!  God isn’t scratching His head wondering what He’s going to do with this mess of a world.  He has an army He’s raising up to drive back the darkness and make Him known all over the earth.  Don’t let your fear steal the greatness God placed in them. I know it’s hard to imagine them as anything besides our sweet little babies, and we just want to protect them from anything that could ever be hard on them…but,   they were born for such a time as this!   ~Alex Cravens

Goodbyes and Pizza at Holstein

Beautiful morning.   I kinda slept in, probably because I took my 1/2  teaspoon of NyQuil about 3am when I woke up and couldn't fall back asleep.   Missy and I listened to some more of her KISC induction videos.    When Rose and Lincoln were awake in IG I went in to get them and bring them to the farm.  Denny watched them as I put together 3 flower arrangements.  Dawn wanted one for Vannie H. 95th birthday, I made one for Carol Goldsmith, and I gave the 3rd bouquet to Vannie from Anabel's family.... they were  first cousins.   Jensens went into town to shop at Dollar General, say good by to Carol, and Evan wanted to workout.  Anabel watched the littles as I finished the flowers and Denny went into IG to bring Evan home.  Brooks went to Boyles to hang with Logan.  We started washing towels and bedding and folding and sorting them in the sunroom.  About 4 we took the flowers and Grands to IG to say goodbye.  Then we went to Holstein to meet Cooks for pizza in the park.  After we got home we chilled on the porch, Evan had Nick, Jake, and Josh over to visit.  Tomorrow will be a long day traveling to N for the Jensens.   Another good day filled with goodbyes .

Arthur share, Kids leave the farm

3:30  I was awake so I went out to tell the traveling Zimmerman Johnson's goodbye.  T''was SO good to have all the family together.  I really appreciate the effort it took from everyone.  Jensens spoke during Sunday School and gave a 5 minute update during church. There is not many things better than being together for church as a family. After SS Luke's and Matt's went home to load up stuff.  W#hen I got home I pulled out left over food for lunch.  It was a chill time when the Cooks and Jensens got back to the farm. Matt wanted to give the littles their last ride on the side by side.  Jack had lost a tooth and wanted a ride to their camper to show his dad. When Matt's headed to Minn, Karen headed to Goldsmiths'.  I think I took a nap.  Wow!!  Fun weekend, overall.  Of course, there are a few things I screwed up on ... Uffda!!!  Faith.  Lord, heal any pain I caused, bring forgiveness, and restored relationships.
