Home and study

Denny is in Cherokee watching Jack.  I am home.  I got together 3 sets of meals to take to IG and headed into town for study.  Hendersons, Porters, and Balders.  It was Elfreida's 92nd birthday.  At 6 I took Brooks to wrestling practice.  It is fun to watch him.  As I looked at facebook today I once again stood in admiration for the many who battle cancer so courageously.  Lord, Thank you for Cassity's battle and her take on pinktober:

Happy birthday Torren!!!

I called Torren before he got on the bus.  What a great grandson!!  Love you lots, Torren!!!
I did have fun substituting PE at IG Elementary.  During the noon break I went to First State lunch and then to REC to get our dividend check.  After school I stopped at the hospital to get prep for the CT I am having Friday at 9 am.  The CT is to check on the discomfort I get in my  hip area sometimes.  They drew blood to check liver health before the Friday CT.  Before I went home I stopped at Jensens and shared some of the "sugar"  (IE cookies, cupcake, cake balls, oreo fluff) I got at the noon Christmas treats.  I picked up salad and dessert for meals we are taking to Hendersons/Porters/ Balders.  Awana went well.  Denny headed to Cherokee after Awana to watch Jack tomorrow.  I watched 2 episodes of This is Us before heading to bed.

What a nice Grand!!!

Subbed for PE

I got up early to get ready for school.  I was in town about 7:30 and so I helped at OGT until I went to school at 8.  I really did enjoy subbing PE today.  She had no class from 10-10:50 so I went to help at OGT again.  I did some copy machine work for Ranae.  I headed home after class.  Denny had spent the day working with the onions that he grew this summer.  He baked onion rings and chopped onions.  He made zuppa with potatoes that were left in the garage.  At 6 I drove to Kiron and left my car there, then I rode to Denison with Missy and Anabel.  It is always fun to watch Anbel at gymnastics.  Then I went to Storm Lake to get Laura after her class.  I got home about 10:45.  Denny was sleeping and the dishwasher was running.  The kitchen is looking lots better than it did when I got home from school.  Matt went to Haley's concert and Rose showed her moves on a clip.  So cute!!!!  She really got her groove on.  :)  This clip is a keeper.

Gathering tonight

Up kinda early and reading in the sun room.  It is constantly getting colder and so Denny is out washing the pickup right now.  I made 2 desserts for Jensen's talk to night at our house. Denny and I started cleaning.  When I went to town for cider, Denny just kept the cleaning machine going.  Uffta!!! Wonderful!!  About 7 Rose, Nicole, Shirley, Donovan, and Sarah came to hear from Missy and Phillip.   I served hot cider, rhubarb dessert and pumpkin dessert.  Lord, by the Jensens be in the center of your will.  Pictures of family from Dubuque.

Family fun!!!

I got up and read and then went down to second floor.  My 3 brothers were having coffee.  Fun to join them and visit.  At 8 I brought cereal, banana muffins, and coffee cake to the rented room.  Jensens brought fruit and coffee and milk.  They spoke of their plans for August.  There were lots of good questions.  The lunch buffet came at 11.   Nancy had brought her collection of hats for gifts to all who would like a hat.  Pretty cute with all the choices.  She also brought rolls of state quarters and books to hold the quarters.  I felt like the arcade Nazi!!!  I told the boys (with a gleam in their eyes) that ,"No they could NOT just take  $10 rolls of state quarters down to first floor arcade."  I guess some empty rolls of state quarters were carried back up to the meeting room, so I was too late!! but I am sure that I did rescue many states $.25 from the hungry mouths of the arcade games.   When Santa came the designated elf from last year did not show up, but there was audience participation.
A gal from Dubuque had bought a hat from Craig's store previously and she came and bought the rest of Nancy's hats, so Craig did not take the excess to his store.  After naps we went back down to the water park.  We ordered pizza for supper, played speak out and Jason had a great time shooting his nerf attack gun!!  Great day with family.

Speak out!!!

headed Du east

I got up and took Jensens to school at 7:30.  That way Phillip could take the van to Odebolt to drive the bus and they could leave from school with the van.  We picked up 3 Grands and headed to Dubuque.  We ate lunch at the Parkersburg exit.  Funnily, Jan and John C. were right behind us as we left highway 20.  We got to the water park about 4.  Right to our rooms and then G'pa chilled and kids were anxious to get to the water park.  Finally we all did go down to first floor.  We had been there a while when Gail called to ask where we were.  Denny had left the car parked right in front of  Grand Harbor when we unloaded the car ... and it was still there.  Pretty funny. Next 4 hours were in the water park.  Lots of fun.  The hands got all wrinkly.  Betsy and Wade were there early, too.  Luke's and Cooks arrived and ordered sandwiches.  I went to Bruce's room and ate cheese dip and chips. Our family has the 6th and 7th floor.  Mandy commented that last year they brought 2 bags and 2 presents ...  There was a little change this year.  :)
