My cold is not getting better

Good thing I can take Nyquil at night and pretty much sleep thru the night.  I feel pretty stuffy this am though.  Ladies played pool this am and then we went to eat at Olive garden.  Zoo is having a winter Texan Day with admission $4.50 instead of 10.50, but it was rainy and cold and we opted NOT to go to the zoo.  Nancy had several ladies come to the card room for alcohol painting.  I went home and took some cold medicine and a nap.  Denny worked on taxes.  Texts from Mandy say she had pnuemonia.  Uffta!!! Lord, Heal Mandy and me.  It is no fun to not feel the best.

Bike to Boca

I headed to pickle ball at 8:30.  Denny took off on his bike to Boca Chica Beach.  I drove to the beach about 11. It was 21.5 miles.  When Denny got there we took our bikes 3 miles down the beach to the Rio Grand River.  That was one of Denny's goals.  Of course my bike got a flat tire on the way back to the car, so I ended up walking it over half the way.  Note to self ... driving over sea shells may puncture the tires.  I got kinda worried on the way home when I passed Denny's "find my phone" and he was not there.  I turned around and went back and didn't see him beat up in the ditch or anything, I took a screen shot of the location and I continued toward the check in point.  HURRAH!!   He was about a mile ahead of the phone location on his way toward Brownsville.  I stopped at Loops fruit market on the way home.  Denny got home about 4.  Long day for him, he biked 50 miles.  I swam for about 20 minutes and then Denny came to the hot tub and we visited with Kathy and Bill there.

The day was gray and great!

Started with Denny fixing breakfast on the deck.  The skies are overcast and it sprinkled a little when we played pickle ball.  I finished reading The Rescue by Nicholas  Sparks.  At 1:15 we headed to Home Depot to order flooring for Nancy's bedroom.  Bruce came and we used his veteran discount on the materials.  Denny ordered carpet cleaner for our bedroom.  I swam for an hour.  Only Floyd Bennet in the pool with me.  He and Sue have been in the park for over 30 years and were in the park when Dad and  Mom were here.  He told a story of someone taking Dad's boat during the night and trying to steal some bikes and tools and how he stopped the guy with a gun.  Cute snow pictures of Karen and baby Rose.

Happy Birthday Anabel !!! 10!!!!

Anabel, we have loved to watch you grow up!!  We thank Jesus for your life!!  Keep shining your light!

We had a nice slow am.  Church at 10:30.  After church we drove around to see where Loops fruit market is located.  I read in the sun this afternoon.  Denny worked on cleaning the inside on the car.  I swam for an hour.  Sandy, Marilyn and Howie were in the pool.  Gail and Bruce invited us over to watch the supper bowl.  Jeanne, Connie and Casey got here this afternoon.  Nice night.  We face timed with Anabel as she opened birthday gifts.

Kites

I felt I had a cold coming, so I took some airborne about 2 and slept until after 8.  Breakfast was amazing again.  Then pickle ball and later I stopped to visit with Gloria.  We left after lunch to go to the Island and watch the kite competition.  It was really fun.  Then we headed to have supper.  Great food.  Gail chipped a crown and went to Mexico to get it repaired.  \

Is it Saturday?? ... no Friday

I got up and had my devotions Then back to sleep until 7:30.  Nancy and I headed to Port Isabel at 9:30.  The guy from Home Depot came to measure for new flooring in the bedrooms. Now we have to decide what to do.  We were starved after getting groceries, but didn't eat until 2.  Hurrah!!  Denny found my glasses outside on the deck under some leaves that had blown on the deck floor.  I stopped by Smiley's.  Jim is doing well; he stayed in the hospital last night.  We went with Gail and Bruce to the dance at Fun n Sun.  Wayne, Kay, Brian, and Wendy were headed there, but they were in a car accident where they were hit from behind and ran into the car in  front of them.  Lord, please continue to be with them and give the doctors wisdom.  Missy sent pictures of Anabel's 10th birthday Chop off.  So cute and fun!!!

Bike ride

Slow am.  We left about 10 am to ride bikes.  I went about 15 miles, Denny went 25.  There was a strong south wind.  18-20 mph.  Uffta!!! I stopped on got DQ tacos to try.  They were pretty good. At home Nancy had gone to play bridge,  I misplaced my glasses.  Lord, help me find them.  I started to read a book while  Denny washed the cars. At 4 I went to swim laps for an hour before supper.  I gave Susan a quick call before heading to the card room.  It would be so great if they could come to visit.  At jokers tonight, Jim Smiley coughed so hard he couldn't catch his breath and passed out and fell, breaking his glasses and scraping and bruising his face.  They took him to the ER room.  Missy bought a lot of storage totes on Tuesday.  They did all fit in the jeep.  You can barely see Anabel peeking out of the background.
