Dubuque with Newhouse Famliy

I sorted thru some of my plants in the sun room and tossed out some dead ones.  Lord, may the rest grow.  Julie P. came over for coffee and a nice visit.  The TV guy did not come.  We cleaned before we left for Arthur Bank Christmas open house.  Then we drove home to get the typhoid medicine I forgot, so I can take it tomorrow.  We left for Dubuque at 2:15 and got there at 6:15.  Denny drove all the way.  It is so good to see family!  Thank you, Jesus.  Luke's fastest route google map took him down highway 52, so he stopped and drove around Burr Oak to show Karen and drove up to Keith's new house and when he was leaving Craig drove up and told them to get out and look around the house and the pickleball shedhouse.  After they got unpacked at the hotel, Luke gave Jack and Rose a ride on the suitcase carrier.   Matt and Torren and Kane went to the water area after checking in.  Many family members visited in our room.  Rose gave everyone one hugs before heading to bed.  All in bed by 11.  So nice to see family and visit!!!

Denny got the tractor running

Both Denny and I were moving pretty slowly because of the cold we were sharing.  Around noon he went into town and got parts for the tractor and worked most of the afternoon on it.  What a great feeling to get it going by the time I got home from study.  I went into IG about 1 to have a blood draw because my thyroid levels were questionable.  Lord, let that work out please.  I would just as soon NOT have to take daily medicine.  Then I went to the Farm Bureau office to check on BCBS oversea health insurance.  There is a 800 number to call.  I may have to pay out of pocket and be re imbursed.  There is 50,000 coverage.    There were 9 ladies at study.  It was a celebration of Elfreida's 93rd? birthday. EP,TP,O , PG, SG, SG, KB, FJ, GA,  Denny was so happy when I got home because he got the tractor running.  It started right off.  New heat houser cost more that he had figured, and he put 3 gallons of hydralic fluid in the loader.  There is a leak and Denny may just take off the loader because he usually uses the bob cat to move snow.

Last Awana for us for a while

Up for devos and to take medicine.  Denny shared his cold with me.  We spent the am watching the George HW funeral.  Lord, guide our nation.  He was an example for all of us.  We went to IG to look in the lock box for our wedding movie clip.  No luck.  At home we took naps to help us heal our colds.  Denny took the box of reels to Odebolt to ship to company.  I put away stuff from last night.  We feel kinda punk today.  At 5:30 we headed to Awana.  Thank you Jesus for all the leaders who have a heart to share the Gospel.  Bless them.

Home school Christmas meal

Up for devotions and to make pumpkin croissants and dill onion buns.  AND I stilled made iit to OGT by 8.  I was kinda disappointed that I took the croissants out too early and had to stick them back in the oven.  That does not make for light airy buns.  Uffta!!  It started to snow when I was in  IG.  Denny looked at the SC weather for me and said it would be ok to drive and get shots for travel.  I got the first shot of Hepatitis A and will need the second on June 4th.  (85)  And I got the 4 oral pills for Typhoid, which will be taken over a 7 day period.  (95).  I headed west and got home about 1:15.   We hunted in the attic for reel to reel film and found them, but we couldn't find our wedding tape.  Next to the Emporium.  Eleven ladies came to the home school Christmas get together.   It was a nice evening.  Haley made a 3 pointer.   AND Jack did not have such a great time with Santa.

Getting Laura

Up for devos and headed to Avoca at 9 to get Laura.  Since Thursday she had been in Chicago with Amy for a show.  Her son Nick had brought her from the Omaha airport to Avoca.  Then we headed to Storm Lake to her 12 o'clock class.  I had a couple errands I could do; I went to SOS and picked up a Prius load of bags to take to OGT.   Then I texted James R.  He was at the church and I went there and we talked about possible dates for travel to southern Asia.  It looks like he is to be there March 25th, so we could make flights March 22 or 23rd.  Matt's family has spring break March 16-20, so it they would choose to come to Texas, I could possibly travel after that.  Lord, guide the plans; may they be in the center of Your will.  I am not sure how long I would stay.   I gave James a check to use if he bought my tickets.  At 6 we headed to Goodenows and had a great visit and meal.  It was so fun just to talk and watch film clips of families and a great cantata from 1991(?).   Relaxing wonderful time with ... long time ... precious   ...  priceless ... friends.  Thank you, Jesus.

Home finally

Up and read devotions and then a nap on the sofa in the basement.  Another great breakfast by Cooks.  We left for home about 10.  Stopped at the grocery store.  The worst road on our way home was driving south on Orchard Avenue.  Denny used the bobcat and cleaned the snow off the driveway and road.  We got the movie box in the mail.  We have scads of vcr and reel to reel clips. Lord, grant us wisdom.  Jessica B. called and we visited for a while at night before heading to bed.  We got a cute video of Minn. Johnsons in Florida.   From white sand on most of the clip to drifts of white snow in the last Minnesota picture.   Jack was sad to see us leave ... well, maybe not ... he was just wanting his mom and not wanting his picture taken with G'ma and G'pa.  Life.

Snow and plans??

Up at 5 to read.  Great breakfast of avocados, toast, scrambled eggs and juice.  When we woke the weather was not bad.  It got worse so I called to let them know in Spencer that Mandy and I would not be coming to the Clay county Federated Garden luncheon.  Glad we cancelled because the weather continued to get worse.  We started home about 11 and got south of downtown, Cherokee but turned around.  We couldn't see anything, not even the lines on the road.  Uffta!!! Luckily the Cooks had room for us.  :) After lunch Jason went in to work.  Denny thought about trying to leave again, but as he looked out the window, the wind picked up again and we couldn't see across the road, so as long as we were there, we cleaned.  We wiped and waxed the wood floor, vacuumed, and dusted the living room.  Nice supper and playing rummy cube.
