Haircut Awana

Independent living started the cheesey corn and ramen salad mixing. During shortened class we took the food to the rec center for a meal of the veterans. One student came back to school and wanted to make a card to leave with the veterans telling them Thank you. During my 7th hour class we went to get the food and bring it back. Early out this afternoon. I kind of enjoy the PD. I haven't had my video session yet, but it has been okay to take a look at others. The book discussion is good. After school, I got Brooks and we went to get a haircut. Mandy had texted me a picture of a different style and so Mary started to cut in that direction. Uffta The picture looked good, the actual me ... not so much. We went to Jensens after the haircut. Grandma Laurie and Gpa Alan were there. They had come the day before and had spent the night in the Grainery cabin. I had a bite of supper with them before heading to Awana. Next week is parent's night. On the way home it was very snowy and blowy. Hard to see. Denny had today off for Veteran's day and got the batteries changed on the tractor. BIG job.

Grocery store for Vet Day

Lots of sleep last night and yesterday afternoon, so Denny was ready to go to work at 7. We were going out to the deck, but it was chilly. Student gone and so I went to get groceries by myself. Ind. Living cut up cabbage for Ramen noodle salad. It seemed like a long day at school. Discussed Flex school. After school, I was hungry for steak, so I thawed out a steak to share, 3 brats to grill, 6 jalipino poppers to grill, I went out in the garden to get some lettuce for a salad and Denny came home and used his probe. The meal was great. Then I started working on an IEP. Denny went to bed and looked on his phone. I made several appointments today, Dec. 4th at the hospital, Dec. 8 in SC. Lord grant me wisdom in school, home, and health. Pictures from Johnson vacation:

Challange: Arrange your days so you experience total contentment, joy and confidence in your everyday life with God.

Another good day. Donuts with Grands. Read another George Mueller chapter. 6 in SS. Visited with man passing thru Arthur headed to Mississippi with his family. Lord, go with them. Encourage them. Bring them to yourself. We went to IG to get some groceries, then home for a bite to eat. (Leftover egg rolls from last night.) Nap in the afternoon. I finished reading Soul Keeping by John Ortberg. Good book. Much to learn and practice for me. Here are some thoughts to ponder from the book: The life of the village depends on the stream. The stream is your soul. You are the keeper. You must ruthlessly eliminate hurry from your life. There is a world of difference between being busy and hurried. Busy- full schedule Hurried- preoccupied. Busy-many activities Hurried- unable to be fully present Busy-outward condition Hurried-condition of the soul Busy-reminds me I need God Hurried- makes me unavailable to God. Hurry is a natural barrier that keeps me from a life on the vine. The soul thrives not from our accomplishments, but though simply being with God. It's not about perfection, adequacy or competence, It's about holding on to God. Our soul was made to be connected to Him. In the Dark night of the Soul, God works to change us, not only through light and joy, but through confusion, loss and disappointment. This will be a test of your joyful confidence in God. We can only be said to be alive in the moments are hearts are conscious of our treasures. Our soul thrives on gratitude. We feel better when we are grateful. Work is a soul function. There is nothing better for a person than he should make his soul enjoy good in his work. Blessings: The Lord bless and keep you. The Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you. The Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace. See each day how much we can meet the need of our souls to be with God. Arrange your days so you experience total contentment, joy and confidence in your everyday life with God. Plan to order home school Financial Peace dvd series. It is windy, but plan to straighten out rugs that were pulled off the rows last night.

A day away ... from school

Up at regular time. So thankful for Marne dropping off the Financial Peace DVDs. After Denny left for work I went to Jensens. Anabel was busy using the craft stuff that Nancy gave her. Boys were doing leggos in the basement. I headed to Sonya's about 8:30. Fun to see her place. They have done a lot of work in the house. Really made it cool. She has a loom in the front porch area. Kitchen is reused wood, etc from outside buildings. We looked thru the buildings. She gave me 4 buckets to put my dahlia bulbs. Then I headed to Mandy's. I got there about 11. We went to a narrow aisled Grand opening at Shopko. Jason came home for lunch. Mandy fixed salad and sandwiches..SO good. After looking thru a couple stores I headed home and was home by 3 to take a nap. We took supper over to the grainery. What a great place!! kids watched a video in the loft. great day away from school.

Long day at school... PT conferences

Denny and I spent a few minutes on the deck. It is 65 and going to get colder and colder as the day progresses. I made a few phone calls at school. Sonya said it would be okay if I visited tomorrow. Marne said she would loan me the FP dvds. Hurray!! Independent living made chicken patty sandwiches, pudding, cheesey corn, and salsa / cheese dip. It turned out pretty well. One student is discussing To kill a Mocking bird. We talked about what a fine man Atticus was, I commented that when he grew up he would be a good man, too. "Probably so" was his remark. It just made me smile. After the 2:30 dismissal I got some fruit for my visit, got my new glasses (that I can see out of :) and shopped at Dose. I think when I go shopping I may take a picture of my finds. Always so many good things. I was at parent teacher conferences from 4-7:30. Then I stopped at the bowling alley with some other teachers. Sore seat from sitting. Pictures are from Sat Oct 31.
