Happy Valentines Day!! Cheese cake contest

On my way to school this am I turned north on highway 59.  It looked like we had less than an inch of snow.  On my merry way north, cruise control zoomed while going up a hill so I put on the brake to disengage the cruise control .... and the car went out of control ... heading to the ditch on the opposite side of the road.  It was slippery.  I didn't realize sleet fell before the snow.  Oh man. ..I thought I was going into the west ditch... then back to the right side of the road... no I was headed to the ditch on the right side of the road.  Braking did not make any difference on the speed of my car.  So thankful... Thank you Jesus, that there was a very shallow ditch and the car did head into it, but I had slowed down enough and I could drive out of the ditch... no dents... 2 big semi's were following me... They slowed down as I was in the ditch  I gave them the OK sign and they waved and off they went.  So thankful that no cars were coming.  There is no way I could have avoided oncoming traffic.  Life can change in an instant.  I definitely thought I was ditch bound. I took the next gravel 280th street to the high school.  No more paved roads for me this am.  I arrived at school pretty shaken up.  But the day got better.   LOTS BETTER because we had a contest.  Last month there was a chili contest, that was good, but today we had A Friday cheese cake contest.  There were 11 cheese cakes brought in.  We had to try them all and choose the best.  Rough life.  One of my classes fixed pork chops in the microwave and salad and peas during 3rd hour.  I helped finish 2 students Iowa Assessments during their study halls. After school we did 2 sessions of T25.  I went home for a quick shower. Then to the Battle Creek Valentines Dinner at the  Country club.  It was a fun night.  We sat by Susan and Gordon. Nice to be a part of the festivities.
Pictures from the end of the cheese cake contest. The food loosts very mangled, but it was good. You might way we didn't have good serving techniques with everyone just helping themselves. YUM!! E-1.

Regular day

Up and at the table for a quick visit before heading to work.  I weighed in at less that last week.  :) Plus perfect point score and I had not days where I had sugar.  Wow!   If I would have realized that I would have eaten a Lindor the day I bought them, bummer.  I missed a phone call from Mandy. :( At school I visited about an IEP for a student in the 5th year program. Kim gave us a ride to Food Pride in the bus.  Worked on Iowa Assessments in 2 classes. After school T25. Then home to make the final freezer meal.  Olympics.

Early out Awana skating.

Nice to be able to wear jeans and  Harley top.  Gotta love early outs.  I thought the PD was really good too.  We talked about the number of failing grades and the number of students that each teacher has. Interesting.  Then we went to our rooms and addressed the needs of  those failing students.  After school T25,  I worked at school looking at the 1040 EZ and YouTubes.  Off to the Awana skating party about 6:15.  There were about 125 skaters. Some of the boy clubbers were confused ... Did Reed get a haircut? It kinda looks like Reed, but doesn't sound like Reed... Later Reed showed up ... he had been driving Jr. High to church. Full day

Nice to read in bed before getting up.  Denny showed me an article last night that says reading in bed before going to sleep is not good.  Neither is watching TV, being on the computer, eating a lot, and many of the things I do.  Full day.  Regular classes. Discussion about the need for more practice than just a quick reading and answer 6 questions.  Uffta Lord, help me.
After school T25 then to rec center to run 3.5 miles then to Andersons to visit, Next to motorcycle meeting, Ate with Denny at Mexican, to Home school meeting at 7, at 8 to Dance class number 6 with Francie, We had 4 couples there. Us ,Lynn and Toshi, Crystal and Tim, Kristy and hubby. Wall lake couple... the guy broke his leg At home I fell asleep watching the Olympics.

Last day for Iowa Assessments ... or almost last day

Happy birthday to Linda, Nancy and Amanda.
After a good night's sleep it is easier to get up and get going.  It was cold in the room where I gave Ia. Assessments. I got a call about tests needed for home school students.  The heater in R room seems to be fixed  YEA!!  After school T25.  Then to rec center and biked 15 minutes.  Quick trip to the grocery store to get pork chops and chocolate.  I really like Lindoor and have never bought them. On sale for 30 cents apiece.  I got some to give away and have on my sugar "day off".  At home we did Advo 24.  Then ate one of the freezer casseroles.  Really pretty good. In bed to watch the Olympics by 7, but not fast going to sleep.  M,M, and L goal is to earn all the points in the challenge.

Great to be in HS SS class

We headed to SS with Grands.  Donuts at Sparkies one stop.  At SS I was aware of the great potential that the HS class represents to the sharing of the gospel.   I felt this burden to encourage the church body to pray for them and support them with love.  I do truly believe that their faith can change the world for Christ.  We ate a lunch of one of the casseroles that I am making for freezer meals.  I have really been impressed with the meals that I got groceries for in Carroll.  Too bad I did not get foil containers for the freezer.  I worked on check book register. Still need to get info in Centerpoint. I did not exercise today.  Didn't feel like driving to IG.  Denny went to help with practice for Awana quizzing, then to prayer time, then home to watch Olympics in bed before sleep.  Thank you Jesus.

Can't believe I had such a great day and didn't take a picture

I really like to read my devotions while I lie in bed in the morning.  Thanks Denny for loving me even if I put the light by the bed on.  I headed to IG rec center, ran on the treadmill for 45 minutes and was home by 7:40.  We picked up Steph and headed to Carroll.  It was a great day thrifting... Lots of nice clothes for a soon to be a mamma.   We met Christy at Hunan's for lunch.  Can't believe I didn't take a picture.  At home Denny and Phillip ground feed at the folks.  The kids sledded over there while the guys were working.  In the afternoon Phillip and Omar put plastic on the greenhouse.   I am sure wondering how it will work and turn out.  We got home about 4.  Missy and Phillip headed to Ft. Dodge to meet friends from Parkerburg.  They are getting a pickup truck.  I got ingredients to make 14 freezer meals.  We had one of the meals for supper.  Then we watched the Olympics. Denny took Amelia home, she was watching the Grands.  Wow, 9:45 time to go to bed. Pictures from 1987: Trip to Brownsville
