Alarm for 4:15. In IG by 5 to pick up Becca and Lauri. B. lost phone, but found it. We made it to Floyd Monument by 6:30. Two vans are ready to cross Iowa. 11 people. It looks like quite a journey. 26 teams have registered. Luke has his drone and is taking some pictures. After the first runner and A van leaves we went back to the motel that they stayed in last night. Ate breakfast and they took showers. They left for Anthon. I went and did some errands, took returns back to Staples and Hobby Lobby. HyVee stop, Loels for Preen, and a look at Good will. Then to Anthon where I got a picture of the hand offs. I took the gravel road relay route to IG then went to garage sales while waiting for team to get to IG. Kiwanas had spaghetti in the rec center. Missy came with 3 to visit. The showers were cold so we went to Goldsmiths to shower. Denny came until 6:15 and then went home. Dan G. came and dug 2 big holes to put metal in. I napped and Denny and I sat on deck during a beautiful night on our home.
For over 50 years my mom, Bernice Newhouse, kept a journal, usually in spiral notebooks with the year written on the outside. Mom died in April 2008. In December 2008 my son, Luke, tried to get me into the 21st century with a blog site. This is kind of in remembrance of Mom and an update for my kids of my day to day life. Nothing exciting or noteworthy...I'm just thankful to God for all He has given me. What a great Lord we have.
