Thursday Farmer's market

Up and 5 and so excited to put together the flowers for CSA. It rained most of the night. I put a batch in the bread machine. Decided not to go to Thursday School breakfast. Made 8 red white a blue vases. I added blue tulle, because I did not have very many blue flowers. I put together 8 peach/yellow bouquets. Preen really works! I left a patch of lizies without Preen, and man, did the weeds come up. Had to pull weeds. So thankful Preen has worked so far. I put away all the hose that I had out for watering. Bible study came out, right after a downpour that had some hail. With the rain I waited to load the car until 3. Brooks and Anabel came along, too. I baked 3 circle pans of cinnamon rolls, 8 pans of dill onion buns, 4 pans of Cream cheese coffee cake. They all sold. All the flowers went. One gal commented that she just had to throw out the flowers she got 2 weeks ago. They lasted a long time. Denny came and the kids shared a meal at the farmer's market. Then he took them to VBS. After VBS, Jensens came to chill on the deck. It is so pretty out there. Denny was laughing and telling about how class mates from almost 50 years ago did not recognize him. Denny has walked every night for the last 3 night. My ankle and knees are a little sore and so I have not joined him.

Wednesday June 29 VBS games

In am I picked flowers for FM and put them in to cool. I cut up and processed all the veggies from the past 2 weeks and put them in jars for salad. Goal today is to finish getting all the insurances. Called Humana rep I had to finalize it on line. Started watering the flowers. I called and talked to Marcy and made a decision to not go with Physicians Mutual. I went in to IG and water walked for 30 minutes and went to BCBS office and signed up for Part F. Glad to have that decision made, at least until November, when the enrollment period ends. I looked at funds in 2 accounts and got a new check register going, starting in July. Denny had planning and zoning meeting. I went to VBS. Game time went well. Share the base kick ball. It looked threatening, as we tried to decide what to do I said a little prayer to not have it rain. We made it thru most of the game time, 2 girls went home on their bikes. It didn't rain except for a few drops. Carrie S. took the time to tell me how much she appreciated the flowers she got from FM. She said she was busy that night, she got home from FM and left the flowers and went to the next thing. When she got home, the flowers were wilted. She put them in water ... and they revived. She said everytime she looked at them, it made her happy. She said her mom said there was a parable. If we are not in contact with the Living Water we wilt. But He will restore us when we "get water". It made me happy to hear. After VBS was over, I was visiting with a neighbor, and they said that they were so surprised that it was not raining in Arthur. It had poured and even hailed at our farm. After I started driving home, I realized that it was an answer to my prayer for no rain during game time. I stopped the neighbors and told them how God had answered my prayer. It was so cool that I could see that answer to prayer. Anabel came home from camp excited because she had a great time. Denny walked to windmill north of our place. I registered to Humana online.

Tuesday CSA pickup

Up early to put together flowers for CSA. It continues to be dry. I watered some flowers. There was a rocket firing at VBS, They didn't need game time. I stayed at home and watched CSA pickup. I must have done more that day, but as I write this on the 4th, I can't think of what I did.
Pictures from Johnson farm weekend ... Denny gave kids a tour of windmill progress.

Monday Trip to IG

I slept in until 6 then picked red white and blue flowers for CSA tomorrow.  Visited with Rose L.  . I got a call about a bone scan order at hospital and so I set it up for 11. Then to get a pneumonia shot. I went in to water walk and got a 20 punch card. I swam for 45 minutes, then walked, then sat in the sun for a while. I got a groceries met with BCBS
The weekend was so great.  Denny picked up most of the stuff when I was at VBS last night.
At 6 I was at VBS. Game time was fun. We played dodge ball.

Nice to see them. Missy took Anabel to Hidden Acres. About 5 I headed to VBS and took Brooks and Evan. Nice bunch of kids there. I had them play races. And blinded folded trust walk
Home about 9. Denny had cleaned up the yard chairs etc. we chilled on the deck, just talking about how great the weekend was.  Pictures from competitive wiffle ball game.   Karen sitting in my happy wisteria bench and burning the morgage with Torte by Missy.

Sat June 25 Great time with #family@farm

What a great day!!! I love that all 4 kids and families came home for the weekend. The hog is slaughtered, Phillip and Luke started the coals before the pig goes on. I picked flowers with Haley for church tomorrow. Breakfast of bagels and fruit. Jenn came and took pictures at 10. Lots of pictures taken in the hour she was here. Grandma Jenny and Grandpa Frank came and brought birthday cake for Kane. Plus he got water balloon kit to share with his cousins. After lunch, a nap competition. Then Cuubs, whiffle ball, The start of the 4 course meal with Cooks serving yummy hor de orves. Then gespacho (cold soup) by Luke and Karen,  Mac and 4 cheese made my Matt and Becky. Such great food!! Then wonderful pork. We had a fire in the pit. We burned the mortgage and ate Missy's chocolate torte. What a wonderful day. I really should have documented during the day (because as I write this on July 1, I don't remember details). Kids went to bed and we visited more in the coop.
It has been a perfect Christmas present for me.  I am loving it.

Moving Cooks

Nice early start after quiet first night in the new house. Denny made a list for Bomgaars run. When we were at Bomgaars I got some asparagus fern. Denny noticed that someone had scratched the pickup while we were in the store. At the new house, Denny fixed trash pull. He made a shelf for water bottles and changed the washing machine location. Denny and Luke fixed the garage door opener, then put a shelf in Mandy's closet. Matt's got there about 1:30, Jensens got there a little after that. Luke and Karen got there about 3:30. After looking around, I watched the kids at the house and everyone else went to the rental and brought everything to the new place.  Siches texted Mandy and said they were close to Cherokee, so Mandy had them stop. It was great to see them. They were on their way to Kevin's family. Jan and John grilled brats and we ate a great supper. We all headed home. It was hog slaughter time. First ever. Luke and Phillip had watched many videos and so off we went. from 7:30- 10:30. The cleaned meat was taken to the CSA refrigerated cooler. On the deck, we visited and Luke and Karen gave us a Christmas card ... As Mandy added "from all of us." Many laughs, smile and joy!! Kids went to bed as we stayed and visited. Thank you Jesus for my family.

Mystery trip

Up and devotions out on the deck, then spray painted some chairs, but ran out of paint. Put grout on 12 sky blue pink stones, I was late getting ready to be leaving by 6:30. I thought it was only 6, Uffta!! It was just fine when we got to the bus. 47 ladies went on the chartered bus. Nancy had a book quiz on the bus. We went to Shibogan, Wisc. First stop was an art museum by Koehler family. Then lunch and tour Koehler design center. Our last stop was at the Bookworm Center. Very fun and pretty park that highlighted Children's books. Only the few of the 47 gals on the bus had been there before, it was a hit. Back at Madison I worked on stained glass skybluepinks and Nancy chilled. It had been a big day for her. A lot of time on her feet. I also worked on cleaning the garage and packed the car to head home tomorrow am early. Great time with Nancy.

Visiting the dentist

IBeautiful morning out on the patio. I sit here with my Chromebook perplexed on why there are so many connected accounts that I have to change the password on. What a pain. It seems that too often there has been suspicious activity on our accounts and we need to change the password. How does a person ever keep track??? We went to see Dentist Betsy about 11. And ate lunch at a neat baseball place. I have never seen a place more covered with baseball paraphnillia. It even had a whiffleball stadium so you could play a game. Fun!! On the way home we stopped and shopped at a couple places. I got square block for stained glass and looked at goodwill stores.

Sunday in Madison

Beautiful morning. We went to the 7:45 service. Then home and I worked on cleaning off the patio area. Nancy did some weeding in the yard. I got enough cleaned off that we ate lunch outside. At 5 we went to eat Mexican with Myrna, Dobbin, Justine, Kevin and Amy. Denny celebrated by washing his pickup. At night I started to make sky blue pink garden stones.

Fun in Madison

Got up about 6:30, Nancy had gotten groceries yesterday. The check out guy asked if she clipped coupons, He noticed that she had saved $53 dollars, so we have lots of good food for this weekend. Decided to deliver CSA veggies that I had brought to my nieces. Nancy emailed and set up Mexican meal for Sunday night. I called Maynard and we picked him up. He lives with a friends brother near the capital. He and I walked the square and looked at all the farmer's market vendors. Then Nancy picked us up and we took sandwiched to Justine and Kevin's home. Great meal there and lots of fun laughing. Maynard had a friend coming and so we took him back home before going to Todd and Julia's place. Hope Iris is a sweetie. Nice time visiting there and then home for naps.

Work lots then off to Madison

I got up about 5. Missy said if people knew we were sewing at 5:30 in the morning, they would think we were crazy. Guess that is about right. We did get all seven of the extra small t-shirts remade into two and four toddler sizes. She was so happy to have it done. I think I could have asked her to do the worst job in the world, and she would have said yes. So I asked her to help me make the beds in the basement and set up and furnace room with the queen size bed. I went home and wrote down Farmer's market information from yesterday. I sold 7 asparagus, 3 onion-dill rolls, & 6 coffee cakes and 2 peas. The rest of the veggies , broccoli and lettuce are in a cooler to take to Madison. I went out and ran the tiller around the flower gardens in the yard. Then I tried to run the tiller between the asparagus plants and knock down some of the weeds. I broke the ground around the bitsy lisanthus plants and gave them a miracle grow drink. It was hot. Missy came and we made the beds in the basement. The toughest job was moving my stuff (from school) that was in the the furnace room to someplace else. So basement green room closet ... here we come with several tubs and totes. After moving we looked at the mattress is was damp from all the sump pump water. Uffta. Thanks Missy for helping me with that job. We looked at flowers for CSA Tuesday when I am gone. I packed and headed for Madison at 3:50. I got there at 9:30, One stop for gas. 350 miles. Nice drive. I visited with Nancy until 12:30. That's late for me. Great full day.  Mandy and Jason are in Duluth getting ready for Gma's Marathon.  They are staying with Siches.

Visit the family before the funeral

JJensens left at 7 for a funeral in Creston. I was at Jensens and went home to print a sympathy card. When kids got up, we went to my house for cereal. I got ready and at 9 we went to Danbury. I wrote on the card outside of the church and was so thankful that I could visit with the family before the service. Lynn Boyle was really a fine lady. She will be missed at the high school. She did excellant work with the students preparing them for transition from high school to work force. I took Grands to IG library. They were having a program at 10:30 from the Blank zoo. They checked out book and I got one book on listening. At home, we read in sunroom, I fixed home made mac and cheese. We worked/played outside for a while. I put a drip hose on the lizzies. When it began to rain, I asked Grands to shut off the water, we read in the coop. It was great. Read, nap, Read, listen to the rain, Read, nap Read with 3 sweet Grands in the coop. CSA pickup at 5:30. I realized water was not shut off and lizzies got a soaking with rain and drip hose. Uffta!!

Laura to DM

My knee doesn't hurt this am, so maybe tomorrow I will walk. I cut up some veggies. And then fixed CSA flowers. About noon I headed to IG to get Laura. On the way to DM, we stopped at Coon Rapids and shopped at a thrift store. 3 red tag items for $1. We got the stuff, spending a big $17 dollars. Arrived at the Dept for the Blind about 5:15. Jean picked me up and we drove to the downtown area for supper. We decided to sit outside and eat. (Imagine that) While we were eating the 2 hordeores, Jean heard a voice," That's my mother-in-law". Jean knew she only had daughters, and just then Karen and her brother Mark walked by. What a treat! She was in DM for classes for her job. She and Mark were headed to another restaurant to meet some of his coworkers for supper. If we had eaten inside, we would have missed them. So fun!! Laura thought the meeting she went to was beneficial. We got home after midnight. Good day.

Fire truck ride

Donuts with the Grands. After church there was a church board meeting, then Jenn, Solomon, and Vickie came for lunch. Naps in the afternoon. I went out and watered plants. It is so hot and dry for my bitsy lisianthus. I don't know if they will make it. About 6 we went to the Arthur ball field. Missy and kids were batting. Then we went to the grilling for the fire department. We all took a ride on the firetruck. After we got home, the kids and I picked tiny strawberries. Denny cleaned out the air conditioner and switched the water to water my garden with rural water, not water from the well.

cherokee sales

Up early, but slow getting to Missy's. We got gas and then headed to Cherokkee. What a fun morning!!! We went to garage sales. Fun treasures!! The girls were puzzled who would have so many swimsuits of random sizes, plus towel, and T shirts for $.25??? I got a couple nice sets of towels. Anabel was happy to get a pump 2 person swing. Missy got an egg slicer. We stopped in IG at the library and to get t shirts from Joyce. At home Denny was frustrated because the 4 wheeler that he was going to use got a flat tire. I tried to get some water to the plants. I spent too long looking at Facebook before going to sleep.

Hospital golf

Beautiful morning
First small dahlia bloom and tiny red aster. I went to the golf course about 9. There were only unpacking golf clubs in the parking lot. Inside there were gals. I played with Pete, Jim and Matt. The other group was Isaac, Jeff and Al. It was a best ball. It went fun. Very hot, but a good breeze. We took muligans and a couple of shots. My putting was typical. I told the group, I make about 15% of the long putts. There was a great lunch to eat on the cart. On the 9th hole I drove the green and it landed in a circle around the pin (winning me an oil change.) The next 2 holes we were on the green in 2, and my 15% took hold. I made a birdie putt on hole 1 (winning the longest putt contest, winning a umbrella, 12 golf balls). Then on 2 my 15% took effect again. I sank a birdie putt. Overall we finished second. UFFTA! We picked out our own steaks and grilled them. It was good to sit and visit with Pete and Carol.
