Full Day

Well, it was okay to sleep in the tiny shed.  I got up at 5 and then went down to walk on the treadmill.  After 23 out of 45 minutes I got the call that Rose was up.  Hurrah!!!  We spent the next 2 hours playing quietly.  She was so cute.  And played so nicely.   It was raining most of the morning, but when it stopped I took her on a ride in the stroller.  She loved it ... meeting all the neighbors.  Luke and Karen went out to lunch and to a movie.  Denny and Rose took a ride on the trike with Rose in the basket. At 12:30 gals came for study.  Julie M, Julie D., Hilda, Barbara, Mert, Nancy, Wendy, Kay and me.  From there I went to pickle ball.  Denny and Rose met me there.   We went to yoga after that.  Rose was so cute.  She sat in the stroller for about 20 minutes.  Then we went outside and she played on the shuffleboard court.  Supper fixed by Arlen ... Great!!  Visited afterwards and Denny showed pictures.

Getting Rose

Slept until 7.  Played 9 holes of golf with Fay.  I shot lousey again.  Oh, well still enjoyed it.  Home to nap and make the bed and move remaining stuff to tiny shed.  I walked 45 minutes on the treadmill only to realize the 7 points for 45 min exercise is only available 5 times a week.  Uffta!! At 4 we headed to Harlingen airport.  Luke and Karen's plane left a little late, but is scheduled to arrive at 5:15 according to the "follow your plane" app that Denny has.  We ate Mexican and then headed home.  Before Rose went to bed we stopped at 406 and all the Grand Aunts and Uncles loved her.  Arlen arrived in B'ville about 11, according to Denny's app.  So good to have them in the Valley

Golf

I walked my 45 minutes in the am.  Actually before I even woke up.  Kinda like sleep walking in the park.  I have decided ... It is more than  okay to enjoy doing something that you really do not do very well.  That would be my morning of playing golf today with Gail, Bruce, and Keith.  I shot a 52 and a 54.  Still it was a good day.  It was lots warmer than Iowa.  And with people I enjoy.  Keith bought us hot dogs after playing.  Then a nap, then pickle ball, then supper at Bruce's.  Denny and I had a family group phone call, the rest of the crew went to DQ's and brought home minis for us as we all watched the Madison BB vs. Nebraska.  Kathy R. left to day for Cold North Area.

Well, today was 65-75 degrees HERE and in Ida Grove it was 4-6 degrees.  It is SO good to be here in Texas.  I walked 45 minutes before going to the 8 am dvd class.  Then pickle-ball from 8:30 on.  Denny and I cleaned the trailer.  We moved most of the clothes to the tiny shed.  After lunch I read in the sun for a couple of hours.  And finished the book "i am n"  by voice of the martyrs.  (Filled with inspiring stories).  Denny took the car to the car wash.  It looked great.  At 3 Jean, Nancy, Denny, and I headed to the Island to watch The Piano Man who played at D Pizza Joint.  He was really good.  Denny was really enjoying it.  When we got back I played ponytail.

Fun Days banquet

Up early and walking, but Lois said from the kitchen they could use help and so I went and cooked sausage patties and bacon and warmed up sausage links.  Fun Am.  Too bad that the farmer's market that Gail, Kathy and I went to was cancelled because of the rain.  Next to fill the car with gas and let Kathy get Diet Pepsi from Circle K gas station.  I made it back for breakfast at the park.  It was rainy, rainy, rainy,  I helped peel potatoes for the meal then I went by myself to the movie "Upside".  I enjoyed it , but the other movie preview that showed before the feature film were very loud and violent.  Just Nasty!!!!  We headed to The banquet at 3:30.  I talked to Jessica as I walked there.  Lord, be with her and give her your wisdom.  I am asking for a miracle.  I won 4 candy bars: First in Petanque, Second in Darts, Third in Ponytail and horseshoes.  Eventful Fun Week.  Good meal and we stayed for the dance afterward ... and cleanup.  Today in the Minneapolis -15 windchill weather Luke ran a half marathon.  Way to Go, Luke!!!  #onlyinminn   It was so cold his phone froze up.  Literally froze up.  BRRR!!!!!

Petanank

Up and walking 45 minutes.  Denny fixed breakfast on the deck even though it was a little chilly.  At 8:45 we went to start the tourney.  My team ended up getting first.  Monica, Dale, Yvonne, and me.  The toughest match was with Gail's team.  The games went until after 1.  That's a lot of throwing a bigger metal ball at the littler metal ball.  About 3 I picked up Pam and Bill and we went to the SPI  Market.  I got a knife sharpener for Denny and flax seed for Gail.  When I got home we went to Reals and then out to eat Mexican.  The food and company were great.  We played euchre after we got back to the park.

3rd place horseshoes

I got up and walked 45 minutes this am.  It took a couple trips but I got 407's 3 stools back to their place.  At 8:45 horseshoes started.  There were about 16 teams.  Sandy K. was my partner.  It ended up that we got third.  SO we are winning a Twix candy bar.  The horseing around got done just in time for Bible study.  Jean, Nancy, Kay, Wendy, Barbara, Julie D. Hilda, Becky and Mert.  10 of us.  Nice bunch.  Denny and I chilled on the dock until 4 pm yoga class.  I think there were 10 there.  Nice night/day in the Valley.

Pool with the ladies

Up and walked at 7.  Watched news alittle.  Dvd til 8:30 and then I went back to bed until 11.  Guess I must have been tired.  Shower, salad and head down to the pool room where one gal already called in sick.  But Hurrah!!! Sandy said she would take Jan's place.  It was going pretty smoothly and Fay got a call that Jerry was at the  Harlengen hospital.  Terri drove her there.  So it was time to punt on our 5 person round robin.  Lots of ideas how we could do it. Uffta!!  It worked out okay.  Joan got first, Monica Second, Paquette 3rd.  After wards, Nick, Dale and Kathy, Bill and Pam, Joan and Jerry, Paquette and Gaston, and 6 of us came to our place.  Nice time.  We had leftovers of sandwiches, salad, and Kathy's cake.  Fun time!!!

Winner, Winner, ... No chicken dinner here!!

Today was fun week shuffle board tourney.  It lasts all day for those who win ... Not me.  Roger K. and I did win 2 games but lost on the next round.  It was fun and the hamburgers available for $2 were amazing.  When I got back to the trailer I called gro 'n sell and did confirm my order.  That's good.  About 5 Reals and family came for supper.  It was Kathy's birthday.  Denny grilled beef and pork.  Gail brought vegetables.  Nancy made a wonderful salad.   Jean got an DQ ice cream cake.  We chilled out of the wind on our car port.  It was a great meal.  Denny showed pictures.  (yawn) And we cleaned up afterwards and got ready for the next party after the pool tournament.

Denny helped put up a garage.

Wonderful morning.  So nice and slow.  Denny fixed breakfast, but it was too chilly to eat out on the deck.  After church Denny hitched a ride home with Nancy and I drove to 77 flea market.  I had thought if I needed cash I could use the ATM machine there.  BUT no luck.  I found a 3 big wheel stroller for $25 and I did not have cash, BUT the ATM machine was broke.  So I got $4 of avocados= 16 and some jicama with the $7 dollars of cash I had.  Denny was at Reals helping put up the walls of their garage and got back about 5.  TV, then Trivia.  ONCE again  my team got the last place.
View from my hammock...

Saturday

Denny got up and went to ride bike with some others that meet on Saturday mornings at 7.  Uffta!! That's quite a feat for him.  I walked 45 minutes.  Gail and I went to yoga at the farmer's market.  I was so tickled because I bought some arugula from a vender.  We got back to the park in time for info at coffee and donuts.  Then pickleball until 10:30 when Judy came to our place and gave me a haircut.  Gail, Denny and I worked on the ladies' pool tourney brackets for next Wednesday.  I read in the sun for a couple hours.  Boy, was it windy!  At 4:30 we headed up to the fishfry meal with a dance afterwards.  Fay and Terri brought a pretty blue lemon-aid drink. Missy gave me a phone call at night.  So good to hear her voice and see her.  Iowa/ Missouri is snowy and cold.

Progresso

Walked 45 minutes.  It was beautiful with the street lights on the palm trees.  Denny had breakfast on the deck.  Wonderful sauted onions and sausage patty.  I went to the walking dvd for about 20 minutes.  It took us a little over an hour to drive to Progresso Mexico.  We walked the main street, looked at stores, had a pedicure, ate lunch, and bought stuff before heading home.  We napped and Denny went to Jeans for BBQ chicken.  I went to hammock to read for a while until it got too dark.  It was 7 years ago that Denny's mom Anabel died.  What a brave, uncomplaining example she left us.  How she battled!!!  What a special lady she was.  AND What a cute namesake.

Dock time

Walked 2 miles, devo's, 8 am walking dvd, 8:30 pickle ball, I ate my breakfast in the hammock over looking the water.  Denny washed the car.  I sent in my entry for doubles pickle ball golden tourney with Gail as my partner on  Feb. 22.  There were 6 gals here for study from 1:30-2.  Mert, Kay, Hilda, Julie M, Julie D, Kathy and I enjoyed having study out on the deck.  Denny and I were chilling on the dock when Fay brought some cupcakes for us.  She came over to join us and Joan and Jerry on the dock until 4.  This is the first time this season that we have had guests on the dock to visit.  It was nice.  Well.... maybe not nice.  The first boards on the dock are loose and uneven.  I told them I might require any one who comes to visit us out on the dock to wear a life vest in case the dock caves in.  :)   At 4 there were 15 at yoga.  The stretching feels good.  Denny really likes it!  We had salad for supper and then I went to play ponytail.  Another fine day in the valley.

AM golf PM bike

Another gray day.  After I walked for 45 minutes, I stopped and had coffee with Gloria.  Missy called while I was there; she was getting Anabel after Anabel had been at a friend's birthday party.  Faye picked me up for golf at 7:30.  It was a fun 9 holes I played with Dan, Gary and Faye.  I shot a 48.  Pretty good for me.  We came home for lunch and Denny and I went biking ... at the same time ... and same place ... but not together.  Gail took me on a wild goose chases for a $1 thrift store.  It was closed/looked empty/ deserted.  Laughingly the brother in law pulled up and said the store would be open tomorrow.  Sure, right.  When I got home I did the on line application for JBU test administrator.  In 3-5 days I should hear if I was approved.  Denny, Nancy and Jean went to Walmart. Jean returned because she had left her purse there.  Great News from the family group text.  Karen got these groceries for Luke tonight after seeing the doctor/nurse.

So Happy that Luke and Karen are having a sweet baby boy!!!  In July!!!!

Ladies lunch

Gray and rainy day.  Up and walked 2 miles in the drizzle.  I did part of the dvd workout in the community room.  At home Denny went over the trailer  books with Nancy and me.  Missy shared a picture of EAB making roli with her language teacher.  Jean, Nancy, Kathy and I went to Senior Donkey for the ladies' luncheon.  About 35 ladies were there.  When we got home Denny and I took the second bed that was delivered to us back to the Fed Ex.  (Now we are not sure how the second bed got delivered, but we took it back.)  Then to HEB.  At home I napped and then we watched tv on a gray chilly evening.  We got a great phone call from Missy who was waiting to play futbal at the kid's school.  Always good to hear from them.  Then more tv ... This is Us and Blue Bloods.

gray hazy day

Walked 2 miles before 7.  Forgot about 8 am dvd class.  Pickle ball at 8:30.  I baked some cinnamon sugar coffee cake for potluck.  I put some "stick" geraniums and Wandering Jew sprigs into 2 pots.  Gail was throwing the perennials away.  At 1 there was a music jam in the community hall.  Gail, Jean, and I took Bruce to a gym and we thrifted for an hour before we went and got him.  Denny and I  were riding bikes and stopped by Reals who were having a cement drive way put in.  At 6 was potluck and I played Joker until 8:30.  Wonderful nice long day... even if it was gray and hazy.

Boca Chica Beach

Walked 45 minutes.  Nancy left for church.  Denny and I shared a nice relaxing morning.  SO nice. After church and lunch Jean, Denny and I went to Boca Chica beach.  It is the site of the Spacex.   It was wonderful walking 3 miles on the beach.   It was too cold to visit on the deck, so we stayed inside after we got back to the park.  At 7 there was Trivia.  Denny's team got second place (Got his 50 cent entry fee back).  Nancy's first place (Got $2 back) .  My team got ... last place of 5 teams. (Absolutely NO money won) (And quite embarrassing when I knew so few answers).
But still quite fun.

Yoga @ Farmers' market

Wow, what a beautiful morning.  I walked 2 miles+ (45 minutes).  At 7:30 I headed to downtown farmers' market.  It was so beautiful doing yoga outside.  At the FM I got cilantro sauce, 3 cilantro plants, and a spinach/ chicken crepe.  Oh, so good.  Denny stayed for park breakfast.  He is really happy with the tv stand he got from Wayfair.  It moves very easily from bedroom to deck.  Look at Denny on the deck with his screen.  I read outside on the dock during prime sun time.   Gail and Bruce went kayaking.  At 6 there was a dinner show at the community building.  It was fun.

Talapia

I got up to walk at 7 to tell Joyce and Brad ,"Good bye.", but they had already gone.   It started to rain and I did 45 minutes on the elliptical.  Then 30 minutes of walking dvd in the community hall.   Jean, Nancy and I went to Port Isabel.  They went to choir practice and I shopped a little.  We went to Walmart and HEB.  I read under cloudy skies for a while this afternoon.  Denny put together a tv stand that can be rolled from the bedroom to the deck.  He grilled fish for sisters and Bruce.  They went to play bridge and we watched a tv show on the new stand.  Matt called and we talked about Keelie (who hurt/attacked Sadie), the kids, and the fact that in my old age I didn't post about his birthday on January 8th.  OH, My, Goodness.  I didn't post about the child I have loved the longest.  I can't believe it ... oh, yes, sadly I can believe it.  My mind is failing.  So my plan is to go back and cover my tracks.  Uffta!!! How could I have done that.  Life.   When I saved this picture on facebook  a couple of days ago. I KNEW it fit me perfectly, Luckily I have a son who won't hold it against me (hopefully).
