Pickle ball and Holstein GS

Up and headed to IG by 7:45.  First stop hospital for bone scan/etc.  Next I played pickleball with Mick H. at the Rec center.  Then to Doses, and to Holstein.  I shopped at some garage sales and then got Mexican to take home before I left.  Denny was home working on airbnb - cleaning/website.  We ate the food on the deck.  Beautiful day.  Next to mow the lawn.  It was a fun afternoon.

Home from Zimmerman

I was up about 5:30.  Kane is traveling with me.  We is staying at Kingsley for about 4 days.  We left Matt's around 7 am.  The trip was nice.  We went west toward St. Cloud, then Willmar, Windom, Worthington and then down 59 to Holstein at 12:30 where we met Jenny.   About 7-12;30= 5 hours 30 minutes with one stop for gas/RR.  NO HEAVY TRAFFIC OR STOPPING BECAUSE OF ROAD WORK.  We counted garage sale signs (9) Flags (2) and listened to DAB and Little house on the  Prairie for about 3-4 hours.  G'ma Jenny took Kane and I headed to IG for study at Ginny's.  Denny has been busy helping Larsons.  I got home unloaded, started airbnb wash,  and am waiting for my husband.

Happy to be in Zimmerman

Nice to have coffee, chill and visit.   I rode with Becky to take TJ to football workout and then later we took Kane to school.  Denny spent the day on the tractor. After Becky and I dropped Kane off we went shopping at Elk River.  Home Depot, WalMart, etc.  I got sliced frozen beef, and guacamole, and fries, and buns for supper.  We brushed the horses in the afternoon.   After supper Matt and I took Kane to youth group, He had a haircut, and we chilled until Kane was done.

Off to Zimmerman

I got up at 5 to make chocolate chip cookies, have devo, plant lilies, water plants, shower, pack and head to OGT by 7:30.  I stopped at Laura's to get  a couple bags of donations for OGT.  I left about 8:45 and took highway 20 and I35 to Clear Lake exit where I met Karen and the kids.  It was a fun quick "fix"of Grands.  It took me about 3 more hours to get to Zimmerman.   When I got there it just in time to head to the track. Haley ran the open 200 and the 4x400 and the open 800.  TJ ran the 800 and threw the disc and shot.  It was a chilly evening, but so fun to watch.  Some how the automatic timer was broken, so people and to run the stopwatches and record time.  That made for a longer night.  The Grands dod a great job.  Home for pizza, visiting and bed.

Happy Birthday, Missy!!!

I love the story of the day of your birth.  AND I've loved everyday since.  I thank God for your life and the joy you have brought into our family, from the youngest to the oldest.  Thanks!!!

Denny's alarm went off and he left about 7.  I lay down on the sofa in the living room until I heard little boy noises about 7:40.   Our fun day began.

Fun day Sun Day

Up at 6:30.  The boys and Mandy got up, too.  Denny came and made coffee.  Jason still is not feeling the best after having his wisdom teeth out.   We took the boys to SS.  Such fun!!  After church I dropped off Denny to buy 5 omelets at the community center for fire men and EMT's.   The boys and I went to the city park and then went back to pickup lunch and Denny.  When we got done eating it was cold, but Jack wanted to go outside and so he did.  It was warm watching him from the sunroom.  While the boys were napping Denny moved the bobcat and 4 wheeler then Jason and Mandy got out their class C.   Jason drove it home and Mandy is taking the Prius after the boys get up from their nap.  The boys are staying here overnight and I will take then tomorrow to Storm Lake after Mandy gets off work.

Fun Day!!!n

I slept well until after 6.  Denny was getting ready to go drive tractor.  After he left, I had a great sister call.   I watched a FB video on a Dad meeting with a son whom he hadn't seen for 46 years.  Well, that prepared me for listening to the audio book Before and After by Judy Christy and Lisa Wingate.  It made the time fly when I mowed the lawn... for 3 hours.   Thanks Mandy for getting me going on Public library audiobook access, Libby for us rural Ida County people.  Only hang up mowing was when then big mower got hung up on a bank near the electric pole by the culvert that goes under the road.  Now that took me a while to get the mower moving again.  UFFDA!!!  After mowing I got the sprinkler running.  I put sunflower seeds in some plug containers, then planted zinnia in small pots, and green beans in the vegetable garden.   Now after showers and watching Haley during the video Grand March we are waiting for Cooks to come and spend the night.  They plan to drive home the Class C.  Denny's got music playing, I have some food ready and Mandy and Jason are either bringing pizza.  Super!!! Looking forward to their visit.  They got here.  We rode bikes outside, ate pizza, relaxed, and read books at night.

Tractor and flower beds

Maybe Denny's last day of field work.  He left around 7 this morning ... and it is almost 10.  The find my phone says he is on his way home.  Hurrah!!! He just drove up with his pickup.  NOPE... he's not done yet.  I invited Julie over for a cup of coffee this am, around 9:30.  We had a great visit.  Then I was out starting to pull dead hostas out of the front flower bed and Joy L. stopped for a visit about 11.  In the afternoon I got the flower beds cleaned out of dead plants and raked and put down carpet strips and plant supports in the big flower bed.   I listened to the book Stephanie Plum novel.  The tulips around our deck look so pretty.    Anabel sent out a pretty picture of Kathmandu.

Home most of the day.

Denny was up before me and He got picked up and taken to the field where we left his tractor.   I went outside and rototilled the garden area and my flower space.  I finished reading this book from Mandy:    Robert Morris  The God I Never Knew    I went in to study at Ginny's.  I grilled burgers when I got home.  Denny came home very much later.  Good day.  I got the Making my Dreams come true book.

Anabel and Hannah are friends that have been doing a podcast and they have had a lot of fun together.

Baby car seats

Denny headed out to drive tractor about 7.  It’s chilly outside, so I’m avoiding it.   Hopefully I can put on my big girl panties/warm clothes and go outside.   #texaswarmweatherspoiled    I messed little with pic Art pictures.  Then I went outside and put the green rugs from upstairs of the bunkhouse out through the window.  Both/all of the wheel barrels have flat tires.  I moved a couple pails of wood to the machine shed.  At 1 I went in to OGT and volunteered there until 4.  I went to the library and tried to sign up for phone books.  Now I need to figure out how to use it.  When I got home Denny called to have me come and pick him up at the west farm.  At 6 we went to April in Arthur.  It was a good night.

HOW TO BUCKLE YOUR BABY INTO A CAR SEAT IN 36 EASY STEPS

STEP 1  Dress your baby in clothes that aren’t too heavy or restrictive. Anything too thick will prevent you from effectively tightening the straps. Anything too light will invite older ladies to comment about your baby “catching a chill” in the dairy section of the grocery store. In winter months, your best bet is a fuzzy sleeper with bear ears on the hood.STEP 2  Take a moment to emotionally prep yourself for when older ladies in the soup aisle tell you the baby looks too warm in that fuzzy bear suit.STEP 4  Place your baby in the car seat.STEP 3  Make sure the straps aren’t twisted before you place your baby in the car seat. Yes, Step 3 should have come before Step 4.STEP 5  Reach underneath the baby and untwist the straps. Not like that, that’s just making it worse. Turn it clockwise. No, counterclockwise. No… they’re somehow both wrong? That doesn’t even make sense.STEP 6  Once the straps are straight, buckle the harness clip. Be careful not to catch the baby’s precious little fingers!STEP 7  Tighten the straps and adjust the harness clip so it’s sitting correctly against the baby’s chest. Not too high because it could choke the baby during impact. Not too low because it could damage the baby’s organs during impact. Congratulations! You’ve successfully buckled your infant into a car seat.STEP 8  Slowly die inside as the baby’s butt audibly explodes in a fifteen-second squelch of liquid poop.STEP 9  Unbuckle the harness and remove the baby from the seat. Work quickly before the poop seeps through the inner layer of clothing and soils the fuzzy bear suit.  STEP 10  Undress the baby and throw the unsalvageable clothes in the trash. Realize the blowout was catastrophic and requires a bath.  STEP 11  Draw a bath for the baby. No, that’s too hot. Add some cold water. That’s too cold. A little more hot water. A little more cold. OK, good enough. I guess.  STEP 12  Bathe the baby, then dress him in a fresh diaper and clothes. Gently wrestle him back into the fuzzy bear suit.  STEP 14  Place the baby in the car seat.  STEP 13  Make sure the straps aren’t twisted before you place the baby in the car seat. Yes, Step 13 should have come before Step 14, but you really will never learn, will you??  STEP 15  Don’t flip out.  STEP 16  Reach underneath the baby and untwist the straps. Clockwise, idiot.  STEP 17  Great, you’ve disturbed the baby. Now he’s crying. Might as well take him out and feed him at this point.  STEP 18  Attempt to feed the baby, then remove the fuzzy bear suit when he inevitably refuses to eat while wearing the stupid thing.  STEP 19  Feed the baby. While he eats, mindlessly scroll through Instagram. Wow, everyone else is so much better at this parenting thing than you are.  STEP 20  Shove the baby back in the bear suit.  STEP 21  STRAIGHTEN OUT THE STUPIDSTRAPS BEFORE YOU PUT THE BABYIN THE CAR SEAT.  STEP 22  Place the baby in the car seat.  STEP 23  Buckle the harness clip. Be careful not to catch the baby’s precious little fingers.  STEP 24  Catch your own precious little finger in the buckle. Son of a bitch.  STEP 25  Take off your sweatshirt because you’re getting frustrated and sweaty.  STEP 26 Tighten the straps. Hey, that’s perfect!  STEP 27 Nope. The little bastard was arching his back, and now that he’s relaxed, the straps are too loose. Try again.  STEP 28 Still too loose. Try again.  STEP 29Again.  STEP 30Slide the harness clip up or down to make sure it’s sitting correctly against the baby’s chest. Not too high because it could choke the baby during impact. Not too low because it could damage the baby’s organs during impact.  STEP 31Second guess everything you know and google an image of a correctly placed harness.  STEP 32Adjust the harness clip accordingly. That should be fine. Probably? I don’t know. Just… drive carefully, please.  STEP 33Slowly die inside as baby spits up all over his fuzzy bear suit.  STEP 34Wipe away the spit up with a used napkin you found in your pocket because you cannot start this process all over again, and no, my voice isn’t taking on a manic tone — YOUR voice is taking on a manic tone.  STEP 35Congratulations! You successfully buckled your infant into a car seat. Take a picture of your perfect little cherub and post it on Instagram.  STEP 36Check your Instagram later. Read comments passive-aggressively shaming you and educating you on proper car seat safety, because honestly? Those straps look a little too tight.

OGT

Up for coffee & devo (and if truth be told ... time killing facebook).   At 8 I headed to IG, a semi was being filled at OGT.  There was a good bunch of guys and gals working, so I could just do what I normally di.    I had a dentist appointment at 11:20.  Both Erin and Laura said my teeth looked very good.  At home Denny was working on Pontiac GT document ... of course, with a sound video.  I redid a picture for PW airbnb.  Nice afternoon just sitting in my rocker and NOT going outside in the cold.  Quite spoiled after being in Texas.

Even then in college I crack myself up.   This was a letter to my dad on Father's Day telling him about a driving contest at a golfing range where I got first in the women's division.    Take note of last postscript.

Cherokee with the boys

Fun day!!  I dropped off a box of stuff at New Leaf before heading to Cook's.  I so enjoy my day with the boys.  Cute comments:  1.) Tyler just giggling when Jason carried him from waking up in his bed and put Tyler in his chair.  Tyler just had such a cute giggle.  2.) Jack,"Let's see what happens now." as he pushes Jeep in line with overhead door and tries to back the Jeep out of the shed.   3.) Tyler grabbed Jack's hand as they head from the sand box to the house.  4.) Tyler just giggling through out the day, randomly.  I had fun during the day with Pic Arting some pictures and I was happy to get 2 letters in the mail, one for Elise and one to LaShell for lilies.  I got home about  6 pm  Denny started to disc this am, but was called off because of flurries of snow.  He started his GT write up.

April 18 #camocamperonredneckpickup

Great to be a church this am.  AND  What a great video we watched during SS.  At home we put together the camp tent that fits in the back of our pickup.  I think it will be great.  Plus we got a cushy foam queen size foldable pad to sleep on.   We fixed a meal I googled. I knew we had tilapia that was left from Jensens and rice and minced garlic and turmeric and ???.  Denny was frustrated because we didn't have all the exact ingredients,  but he really liked the finished product. #winfortheeffort  Jacob came and took the trellis to IG to use for prom.  I sat out on the porch and messed with pictures.  What a fun afternoon/evening!!!

April 17th Happy birthday Evan!!!

May God bless and lead you your whole life through, Evan.  We are so thankful that you are in our lives.  Keep looking to Him for the questions that come up.  You make us happy.

Denny went to drive tractor.  I went to OGT at 9.  The students that were coming came in the afternoon.  Sharon thought they were coming in the am.  I texted LaShell about the lilies that I ordered and decided not to meet her in Boone with the plant supports.  At home I basically tried to do nothing so the place stayed clean.  I washed a couple loads of clothes and put them away,  read a book, took out some trash,  mixed up some tomato based soup/dip and made some kettle bread.  I did text with Joyce about activities.  Denny stopped field work around 4 after working 11 1/2 hours. We sat and visited in the sunroom.  At night we watched one episode of Chosen before falling asleep.   Nice day

Dermatologist appointment

Left home at 7:15 for SC.   I stopped at Menards to get some 2x2 for the base of the bunk house porch.  The link on the text reminder was off, (It sent me to Quimby.)  but I called and got to Dakota Dunes just fine.   Crystal L. NP said my skin looked fine.  She was not concerned on the 2 areas that I questioned.  Mandy and Jason had appointments and when they were done Jason headed home.  Mandy and I shopped and then ate at Mr. StirFry.  It was SO good to spend time with her.  Plus we love that buffet.  She drove to Cherokee and I headed to Emmetsburg to check out 2 chairs.  Well, the chairs weren't what I was hoping, but I did get a $25 blue loveseat for the airbnb and a small pink velour rocker for $5.  When I got home Denny was just finishing his day driving tractor 12 1/2 hours.
