Sunday Fun Day

It ws beautiful at Dawn.  The eastern sky must have been pretty and pink because the reflection on the rasaca was a pretty pastel pink.   Gail stopped in for coffee, I got food ready for brunch on the deck.  I walked down to Nancy's and she took me to church.  After church Nancy, Donna and John H came for scrambled eggs, caprices salad, and muffins.  I rested little and then Gail drove and we went to 77 market. i got avocados, a pine apple and a $35 plant that hopefully put some shade on the deck.  At 4 there was a meal and Halloween party at the Community Room.  I invited Trisha, Bob, Marie and John to sit on the deck.  Nice visit at sunset!!!

Denny and family history

Jean's call woke me up.  Nice sister phone call,  Went to play pickle ball.  Denny and Missy called.  T'was good to visit with them.  Missy is making plans to begin the accreditation classes thru Dordt for administration.   I started the battery charger on Nancy's car.  Martin is still cleaning the tree area.  i finished and ordered a Snapfish canvas with Texas pictures.  Denny took pictures from the 1983 album and texted them to me.   I took Nancy's car to Wal Mart and got a new battery.  I drove to South Padre Island to sit on the beach for a couple hours.

Borrowed Real's car

At 8 I woke up to a bad dream, because I turned on the book when I woke at 3 and I sadly left the book on while I drifted back to sleep.   I was dreaming and REALLY trying to SHUT that noisy book off.  Uffda!!!  How can I only be only 62% done with this book.  I really don't like it, but I am having a hard time "stopping listening to any book" and just returning it.  It was beautiful out on the deck this am.   Barb M came to show me how to get Nancy's tv on the park stations, no luck. Denny called and we talked thru food he could fix when Lynn and Jane visit this noon.   I went to Reals to check on their progress and asked if I could borrow their car.  I went to CVS by home Depot and got my Moderna booster shot, then walk thru Home Depot, next the thrift store on Minnesota, Dollar Tree stores, water $1 jug, and I got potatoes and a small watermelon at the near by vegetable stand.  Quite the shopping trip.  Back at the park the tree is being trimmed.  I named the winner of the circumference guess.

I went to picklball at 8, then to Reals to help out a little.  At 12:30 we went to Chili's to celebrate Leann's birthday and the news that Nancy's heart was ok.  Kathy, Karen, Leann, Nancy, Lee, Sally, Linda, Sharon, and me.  After we got back to the park, Linda had made a fruit drink.  I tried to start Nancy's car to go get my booster shot, but it didn't start.  Marty is still cutting on the tree trunk.   Pony tail at 7 pm.

Hurrah Haircut!!!

Up and posting on 4 seasons.  It's amazing What I Find To Do When I Have Nothing To Do!!!!!  It's damp out on the deck with all this humidity, too wet to be out there, so I just look out the sliding door as I sit in my recliner.  I went to play pickle ball at 8, stopped at Reals on the way back and pulled staples from Carpet tapes until it was time to go take a shower.  Haircut at 11.  Toni came to our home.  Nice haircut.  I went to Reals about 1:30 and helped them pick up staples from the carpet they are removing.  They ordered pizza.  I went to play ponytail.

Port of Brownsville - 85 years

I got up around 6:30.  I made yellow cake mix coffee cake, but put them in cupcake papers.  OOOps  too much batter in the 12 cupcakes.  And then the topping really put them over the top ... I mean literally over the top.  Luckily I put a cookie sheet under them.  I also made 4 eggs in toast cups and put them in a basket with orange juice.   I added "loaded instant potatoes" to the eggs and cheese.   Fay and I walked over to Kathy's and we drove and picked up Lee.  It was an amazing boat tour and booths with free stuff after the ride.  There were about 16 from the park.  We got home about 12.  I was So happy that the dishwasher was ready to load.  I had left it running empty with boiling water to help any seals that may have dried out.  I got cute pictures from the kids tonight.  Brooks picked the avocados from their yard.  I read and napped all afternoon, at 5 I rode with Leanne and Karen to the Broken Sprocket.  Beautiful evening.

Nice and warm

I listened to DAB in bed.   At 8 I went to play pickleball with 5 others.   Playing in the sun, (not the shaded court) and 90 percent humidity and I got tuckered.  out of shape.  I finished a book today.  Lost December by Richard Paul Evans   I planted the mint, vines, and lisianthus in pots.  I swept and moved the rug to the car port.  I went to get groceries at the little market by the post office.  2 guys came again to work on the tree removal.  I colored the IF monthly letters.  After groceries I got $5 meals at Frontier and chicken nuggets and spicy nuggets at Burger King.  At 6 I went to line dance refresher.  Mandy called, it was great to talk to her.  Denny called  great to talk to him.  Lovely day!!!

Wake up to 75 degrees

Beautiful morning made better by Denny calling and telling me "Good morning!!"   Jerry and Nick came over to check out the progress of the tree.  From the work done today (one trailer load taken out in the 3-4 hours they were in the park with no visible on-the-ground progress made)  It will take a while, a LONG while:)  Mon yawn na   At 9 I rode with Finchers  to Harlingen in their new mobile home.   At 12:30 Karen gave me a ride to the Island to go to lunch at Tom and Jerry's with 12 other gals from the park.  Nice time, good food.     It's 5 pm, and 86 degrees, I am sitting in the south east corner of the deck with some shade from the small orange tree and a slight breeze.  Lovely.  As I was walking to the card room to get better internet reception I stopped to visit with Tom and Luann.  They are staying until after Christmas and then they have sold their home to Roberta and Dan.  I will miss them.

Traveling to Texas!!!

I didn't sleep well last night, too much anticipation.  We left home at 8, Denny dropped me off at the airport at 10 and headed back home.  He deposited by 2 checks; we had trouble using a mobile deposit.  My travels went very well.  No hiccups.  I listened to the book The Ones We Choose by Julie Clark.  I got to Brownsville at 6.  Reals were there to pick me up.   They had gotten Nancy's car to run, opened the house, moved the grill and table out on the deck, cleaned off the deck, BUT the deck was covered with sticks and debris because the park is taking our big tree down.  Trusting the Lord in all.  I really liked that tree.  It gave amazing shade.  It was planted by the resaca and every year when we've come down it has been in need of trimming.  HUGE TREE!!!     There is a lot to clean up and haul away.  I went with Kathi and Bill to their place to see the changes that are starting there.  Then we went to Dave and Tom's.  Kathy, Jim, and  Mary Kay were there also.  Before I went to bed I went to the hot tub.  Really felt nice.  Thank you, Jesus for a safe trip here.  Watch over those I love.  Grant me wisdom.

I went to pickle ball at 8 and played until 11.  I met Susan at Brownies and we took our lunch to the purple park.  Good to visit.  When I got home I went right out to run the Dixon as Denny and I mowed.  TJ had a great pass reception for Zimmerman.

Sunday October 17

Up slowly.  I listened to DAB and went back to sleep.  SS and church.  I took a nap until 2:30 and then went out to start the fire.  Kathi and Lia came to sit by the fire and chat.  T'was a beautiful day/evening.

Home and starting to prime in the bunk house

I took cold medicine last night and slept until past 8.  Uffda!!  Denny went to drive the mower.  I spent the morning washing up the baby swimming pools and moving plants into the sunroom. I went to study at Ginny's after Fay called.  8 gals were there.  At home I started to prime the bunk house windows and doors.  Denny quite working about 8.  I have been listening to 2 books.  NOT my values.  SO much drama.  Then as I painted in the bunk house I listened to Phil Robertson.  What a change from lies to truth!

Cherokee fun

Up and headed north with a little rain … the pickup loaded and tarped.    They unloaded the truck into the small building.   Tyler played so nicely in the morning.  We went to pick up Jack at preschool at 11.  It was a beautiful morning and so when we got home the boys drove the jeep around.  I made peanut soup and taco soup.  Nap time.    Last week the boys made welcome home signs for their mom returning from Denver.

OGT Finished sanding the floor

I left to go to OGT about 7:30.  It will be my last time before I head to Texas.  I played pickleball from 9-10.  At home I finished sanding the floor in the bunkhouse.  YES!!!  HURRAH!!  I vacuumed up some of the dust.  Denny got back from mowing and we drove to the shop to get the prius.   We chilled on the porch having cheese and 3 types of chips that came from Trader Joes.   We leaded the truck with the 2 mattresses and covered up with a tarp.  We visited with the airbnber before heading to bed.

Friends in Missouri Valley Faith = Fantastic Adventures in Trusting HIM.

Wonderful day!!!  I went out to sand ... only 6 boards left.  I used all my belted sandpaper.  I left for MV at 8:30, wondering if I should drive alone, or if I should have rides with Susan and Teresa.  Mandy tested us asking if we could use the truck to pick up a bunk bed in Odebolt at 5 pm.  It was a confirmation to me that "Yes, I should be driving alone".  I could drive home thru Denison and get sandpaper at WalMart AND go north and exchange the Prius for the Pickup at Larsons shop site south of Kiron.  Thank you Jesus for showing me that it was good I drove to Missouri Valley.  I got there at 9:45 and met Kathy and Susan and Teresa at 10.  We went to a chilly park until the Pizza Ranch opened at 11.  Great food!!  Great time talking to long time Friends.   SO GOOD!!!   Susan gifted the book , Kathy gifted a cloth stuffed pumpkin,  I gave them mittens that Nancy had made.  We just talked and talked until 2:30, leaving a good tip.  On the way home I stopped to get oranges and bread for Denny plus the sandpaper.  I got the pickup and made it to Odebolt by 5 to get the bunk bed for the Cook boys.

Afternoon in Cherokee

Wonderful pictures from Grahams and Laura's wedding.  I added some to thee August 22 post.  I went to ss and church and then headed to Cherokee.  Denny still is not feeling 100%, so he was good with staying home.   We had lunch, played and then the boys went down for naps.  Mandy and Jason had finished the front deck yesterday, mandy was caulking and Jason was putting away equipment.  Jack woke first and rode the mower with Dad.  Tyler and I snuggled and read books after he woke. I headed home about 5:30. Great Day!!  Beautiful sunset!

Soup for friends

It was a great start to the day when Denny repaired the cord to my belt sander!!!  Then he mowed my asparagus plants down!!! GREAT start to the day.  I was sanding when I realized I could ask James R. to join us for soup in 2 hours.  And he could come!!!  I have 15 boards left to sand.  I thought I would get more done today, but NO.  I fixed Rachell's baked potato soup and wild rice soup.  Plus cut up cauliflower , carrots and tomatoes, sliced bruschetta crackers, brownies, and Luann brought cookies, cupcakes, and donuts.  James coming surprised Jo Beth.  Fun meal !!  We had a cupcake birthday party for Brook in the coop.  I started cleaning the kitchen and started laundry.  Then I played with pixart.  Denny got a negative result on his covid test that I sent in UPS yesterday.  I cleaned the airbnb, getting ready for our last group for the year.  Good day!!  BUT I had hoped to get more sanding done.
