Saturday June 25

I finished all assignments for Sped law... except a 3 point response that I need to make with 3 classmates and three classmates have not submitted their assignments to that forum. In 324 I have a 50 point bibliography yet to do. It is 20% of my grade and is due July 8. The goal was to get done with most of assignments so I can head to ST. Joe for that new grandchild's birth June 28...I think I can finish that bibliography after the baby come. Wonder who I can get to help me do it? It was rainy this am when Missy ran her 3 out in the country. Evan thought he could still run in the 1K for Heritage days ... and so he did ... He ran all the way without stopping. Way to go Evan. I ran all the way without stopping for the 5 K. 34 minutes and 30 seconds. I was okay with it. AND I FINISHED ONLY SECONDS BEHIND THE WINNER OF THE 10K. At home ... surprise surprize I worked on classwork. Then got a hair cut, Then worked on class. Missy and Phillip are headed to the North 40 for their anniversary. We're incharge of the kids. Denny took them on a walk, We ate in coop,Denny gave them baths and ready for bed while I mowed. You can earn points by picking out the correct order for pictures of Evan and his medal. I didn't know how to arrange them. Oh, yes, one of the men in Gold is Pete G.

Friday June 24

Coffee at folks, Then more of the same. Write assignments for class. I did finsh the strategy binder with 30 lesson plans that Missy helped me with and the table of contents that Denny helped me with. Phillip had boys out MW BW CM AS The edible pod peas are ready. YUM!! Denny and I went to Trudie and Beau's wedding reception at the Skate Palace. We sat with SPED ladies. It has been a month since I saw the teachers I was with nearly every day for the last 9 months. Good to visit. I stopped and got a registration for Royal run tomorrow. 3.1 miles. I know I can run that far slowly. In the country I go 12+ minute miles. If I run that slow I will finish a long time after the finisher for the 10 K. UFFTA

Thursday June 23

Coffee at folks. The guy finished the shower over at the folks, looks great except for finishing boards. They used it this am. It works. I have no idea what I did on this day. I'm sure worked on classes a LOT! It was rainy, but cleared off. Denny came home at noon for the motorcycle. Ride to Elk Horn. I didn't go. Just didn't want to ride that long or eat that much, plus I had work to do on class. I did take a break and go swimming from 6:15- 7pm. 26 laps, Pretty slow , but steady. I'm pretty tickled with my wisteria flowers this spring. Two years ago I had one. Last year there were three. This year I took 20 for vases at the widow's luncheon, and still there were 20+ on the vine. Next year WATCH OUT!! Denny had an idea to put some hog wire panels on the eagle's nest so the wisteria has a place to vine to. Just may try that. Sounds like a good idea.

Wednesday June 22

Made me almost laugh out loud when I realized what I was thinking. I started laundry as I worked on class assignments. Two hour later when it was time to fold clothes I thought... "I won't fold clothes until after I get this part of the assignment typed". How sad is that, Folding clothes was a reward for me getting the assignment typed. I have no life. Usually I dread folding clothes, but the alternative of working on assignments made folding clothes look like a party!
Jim and Carol N. came for supper with friends Kathy and Wayne. Great visit. Denny fixed a super meal complete with fresh spinach, cillantro and basil. UM!!

Tuesday June 21

Up early after getting to bed late because of wind/thunder storm warnings. Coffee at folks. The guy (Michael) is coming to install a new shower in their bathroom. Back to classwork. Missy brought down cillantro lunch sample. At 3 she came to help with lesson plans. I watched kids while she and Phillip ran a mile. Kids played in a nice mud puddle so I gave them a shower before supper. After one more session, Missy and I now have 31 done. HURRAH!! Denny happily helped me make a table of contents. :) He said anytime. He got what he wanted for Father's day... giving Grands a ride on Harley. Soo cute with sunglasses to protect the eyes.

Monday June 20

I got up early to work on class before going to get the folks and taking them to SC. Anabel needed to have blood work done and she had a cat scan. We left about 9 and got home about 3. Missy came down to help me on lesson plans for 324. Yesterday Denny had a great time giving Evan a ride to church on the Harley and Anabel a ride home from church on the Harley. The rest of the afternoon he cleaned and I sat at the computer. Sunday Jensens took the bikes to Moorehead park and rode the trail. At 7 I went with Missy and 3 to Holstein. She played ball (with the D. Hoffman family.) I watched kids. Picture: "Hit a homer,Mom!" The kids are too cute for words!!

Saturday June 18

Days fly by. I know I worked on class. BORING!!! Denny went to the Odebolt parade to hand out water bottles. At 2:45 I met him in IG and we (and 10 others) headed to HuHot for early supper then to AWesome biker nights in SC. GREAT night to ride home. Wonderful weather.

Friday June 17

SOON TO BE FIVE!! JOIN US IN PRAYER FOR THE SAFE ARRIVAL OF THE NEWEST JOHNSON JUNE 28. Coffee at folks- home to work on classes. Missy came down and we now have 18 of 30 lesson plans done using reading comprehension strategies. UFFTA Still lots to do for the classes. I'll just keep plugging away. I read in coop, then at 5 went into town. I swam 25 laps at the pool. OABCIG softball team played Westwood in Battle Creek. It was a good game to watch with Jensens and Chris S. They didn't play the best, but got the win with a quick double play in the 7th inning. The other team had 2 on and 1 out when the catcher got the batter out and caught the runner off third. I have a strange swelling in my mouth, I'll have to check it on Monday when the dentist office opens. Denny had 3 skunks cornered, but no one to go get him the gun. He thinks they may be living under the deck ... NOW that's an AWEFUL thought. HE set a live trap. Good Luck Denny!!!

Thursday June 16

Coffee at folks Back to work on classes. At noon Phillip helped me bunches by trimming trees with the chain saw and burning branches for a couple hours. During nap time Missy came down and started working on the 30 lesson plans for 324. It is a huge job and I don't know what I would be doing without her help. I watched kids under sprinkler while she biked 6 miles. When Denny came home he and Phillip went to work on more tree trimming. They trimmed the linden tree that grows over the house. The locust tree south east of the house had a lot of dead branches that are gone now. After taking away branches, Denny put the mower on the tractor and mowed the area south of the house. I mowed the lawn. We got a lot of work done today after work. No the Missouri Johnsons were NOT running through sprinklers with the Jensens ... I just wish they all could have been here.

Wednesday June 15 16366

Coffee at folks -took over 4 wheeler Back to do classwork At lunch Missy invited me to join E&A and Jaci and Sophi on a picnic at front shell table. Good to get outside for a short time. Short nap then back to class work. Missy watched Troy and Kathi J.'s 3 today. At 5:45 Missy drove us into the pool and we swam 30 minutes. At home Denny had me drive the 4 wheeler while he sprayed weeds at the unit, on the driveway, etc. He felt like we got a lot done. Still no news on Chemo for Anabel. She was glad to get the insulin medication pens that Denny got at the pharmacy Tuesday night. Phillip mowed unit yesterday and folks today.

Tuesday June 13

Class at Morningside 9-2:15 pm. I had hoped for reduced assignments...no luck. I rode up with Kim S. after a short coffee at folks. They made it through the night with reduced insulin shots for Howard. Anabel worries alot about his medicines, no wonder. Eight is a lot to keep track of, plus he doesn't have the insulin pen to give his a shot and one pill needs to be halved. He got too much one am and Howard felt nauseous. UFFTA!! The physical therapist came out late afternoon to meet with them. I got home about4 and napped for over an hour. Denny once again fixed a great meal while I did class work.

PICTURES ARE @NORTH40. My folks would have loved that the camper is being used again. Monday am. Ran 4.5 Coffee at folks. No word from Anabel's chemo doctor. Wrong medicine for Howard. Pretty stressful day. I worked from 9 til 2 on class work, then to Carroll. Gail and Bruce were there. I met them, got bread, and weighed in. Good to have a short visit with G&B. Saturday June 11

This is how you have a class of 15 around a table that holds 10 easily. After story time the older ones do their activites on the floor area and the little ones get the table. Sat am
we took the 4 wheeler to folks. Home health care nurse was coming at 9, so we just visited a little. Looks like life is going ok. I watched grands while Denny and Missy rode bikes. I worked on class while E&A watched LHOP and Brooks slept. Then I took them outside to do a little weeding.
I went back to studying while Denny watched them outside. I worked til about 3. Missy and A came down to paint their toenails. We had a party under the tree house with pink lemon-aid and cookie dough. I mowed the lawn. Denny took Mom to IG to get medicine for Howard by 2, then to Denison to get a new cell phone and groceries. Jensens are camping at north 40 tonight. We'll probably take the 4 wheeler up to visit.

Friday June 10

Ran 4.4 Made 4 centerpeices for Laura's Japanese meal. Picked up Anabel about 8:30. WE stopped at HS where I took form in for Mr. Miller to sign applying for my class B teaching license. At hospital Anabel went to see Howard. I got a bone density and mammo done. They were getting ready to check Howard out of the hospital. It has been 18 days. What a praise and miralce to have him coming home. I ran a few errands and studied Sped Law. About 12 we loaded up and headed home. I had driven their jeep. About 1 Missy and I went to Odebolt to deliver the centerpieces and go to Laura's garage sale. Then back to IG to get Howard's medicine. I worked from about 2-7 on 324. Denny fixed a great meal. Ate out on the deck and vistied with neighboors til aafter 10. I worked on 324 until after midnight. It looks like no pictures are posting on the blog.

Thursday June 9

Didn't run. Coffee at folks with Little Anabel. Class work until 9:30. Took GGny Anabel to hospital at 10, then took flowers to widow's luncheon til 1, back to hospital, and Anabel home. Class work from 2 - 9. UFFTA That's a lot!! I'm getting pretty tired of computer work. Tomorrow the plan is for Howard to come hom. Missy and Denny helped line up stuff to get out of the Bunk house. Not too much to write about, but oh, these classes are tough. Do they expect us to have no life for the next 5 weeks? Denny put in grab bar going into the house from the garage.

Wednesday June 8

Ran 4.5 Watched Missy's kids while she ran and I had devotions. Coffee at folks with Little Anabel. Sped law til 10, 10 - 12:30 with Howard. He came with occupational therapist and Linda to do a trial run at home. Need to see what changes need to be made for success at home. Tuesday June 7

Ran 3.5 Coffee at folk's with Anabel. Worked in am on 324 and in afternoon on Sped Law. Can't remember what else I did but we had cute kids on Sunday in SS class. Total of 15 with Emma and Addy and Sophie N. missing. Enjoy the pictures. Kim and I enjoy the little ones. Praise the Lord for the parents who are so faithful to bring their children. These parents are living lives to please the Lord and they have such neat kids. Amazing!!! Miki is headed to Turkey, then Japan with her missionary parents.. Sam and Jacob are moving to Sioux City with their doctor dad. All three will be missed. What a blessing they are.

Monday June 6

Ran 4.3 Had my devotions and watched 3 grands while Missy ran. Coffee at folks. I had a dentist appointment at 10:40. Stopped to see Dad. I started my Ed 324 class today. I, also, got a call. I had been on the waiting list for Sped Law. Someone dropped the class so there was room for me. I signed up for the class and feel like I perhaps signed away my month of June until July8. Lord, give me strength for each day. 6 credits, but better (I hope) than taking credits while I am teaching, making lesson plans, writing IEPs. We'll see. 5 weeks could be a long time sitting in front of the computer on nice sunny summer days. Don't whine, Faith. Mike B. called to see if we wanted to join them going to Carroll to eat Mexican. We did and left about 6:15. Home about 10:30. Great night Great company, Great ride. So much to be thankful for.

At 6 we headed to Church for Shige and Luann's commissioning. Gordan and Sue came over after to try out downloading reception with Denny's amplifier here. No luck. It still didn't work the best for her.

Saturday June 4

Slept til 6:30 ... Of course I didn't get home from SC until after 11:30. Kind of a slow am. At 8, we headed to town. I watched the Grands while Missy and Phillip went swimming. She is training for a triathalon in August, in Denver. Kids and I went to a couple of garage sales and Dollar General. At 10 I met Denny at the fire station and we headed to Yankton to eat at JoDeans with 10 others. ( 6 motorcycles). We were gone from 10 to 6 pm. That is about 3 hours of riding, 2 hours of eating, 3 hours of riding. Good long day. Nice ride. WAY too much to eat. On the way back we traveled by Gavin's Point dam where they had just released 100 cubic feet of water per second, when the previous record had been 70 cubic feet of water per second. LOOK OUT BELOW!!!! Record Flood stages coming in Sioux City and St. Louis and places in between. All the time Mandy was in high school she often talked about times when she was with the boys. The third picture is when I was with the boys. :) or is it bouys?

Thursday June 2

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GAIL!! I kept a picture of Texas with the sisters on my desk at school. When ever I need a reason to be thankful for and love my job... I was looking at it. I have read 219 out of 275 pages for one of my text books today. Hope I can get done tonight and start the next text book tomorrow. Coffee at the folks, then I took Anabel in at 9:30 and ran some errands. AT home I read, About 1:30 I watched the Grands while Missy and Phillip brought GGny home to pay the house cleaner and then to the cemeteries to pick up flowers. Then I read most of the afternoon. Denny is out riding the bike with Missy, I'm headed out to plant flowers.Grandmother Gail.

Wednesday June 1

I went in to the hospital about 6 am and stayed until almost 8. Then to Mom's for coffee. Then home until 9 when we loaded up the kids and took Evan to Arthur for a home school art class. Mandy went to the hospital to say goodbye to Howard. About 10:30 Mandy, Missy, Anabel, Brooks and I went to Omaha thrifting. Great day. Lots of $1 dollar deals. We took at pretty drink break at a Mexican restaurant. Then we took Mandy to the airport after a quick stop at Trader Joes. Of course. I was concerned that Mandy might miss her flight. She wasn't concerned ... a 7:45 flight ... on a Wednesday night ... in Omaha. She called when we were in Missouri Valley. We thought she might beat us home. We got home about 8:30 and showed Denny all the goods.
