I had devotions in bed. McDonalds was in walking distance for breakfast. The weather was just starting to rain. Hard decision. Head to Barb and Katola's or to Muskegan and ferry. We decided the weather might get worse, so we better make sure we make it to the ferry. Denny, the trooper, just kept riding the Harley thru rain, big splashing semis...
yuck, yuck, yucky weather. Then when we got to the ferry, the afternoon crossing had been canceled. We should have called from Grand Rapids to make our reservation. Then we would have known it was canceled and we could have stayed and played with the two little ones. Live and learn
... About 3 they s
aid the 11 pm ferry would not run either, but we could reserve our crossing for 10 tomorrow am. So we did. We had spent time online looking for lodging. Most motels started at $150...
one was only $60...
but reviews about that mote
l said avoid it like
the plague! So I called a B&B and we decided to bite the bullet. Very nice lots of frills, lace and china. Denny had also looked online for a place to eat supper, An Irish pub. So we ate Irish for
4 pm lunch, and got
carry out of sliders 2 for the price on one (for late night supper). We walked around
down town after eating. There was a quilting class going on in the
ball room of one of the big buildings. I looked around. Looked like fun! One gal had small cross designs so I asked her why she had chosen that design. She was a believer. Pretty cool.
