Fun

Wonderful day in the heartland.  In the am I called Mary Kay and went down there for a cup of coffee.  What a great old farm stead they have.  It was fun to go thru their 100 year old house and see the changes they have made and visualize possibilities.  I called Anna and got a hair trim scheduled for 1.  Then home and I got all the mowing done.  Missy and Phillip were painting the barn.  Looks great!!!  Anabel and Brooks spent most of the afternoon in the green hot tub.  Evan read.  When Denny got home he said he is driving the water wagon in the BC parade, so he cleaned his pickup.  I grilled bacon wrapped asparagus and Denny grilled talapia.  We and Jensens ate in the coop.  So nice!!!!   Before going to bed I ordered $111 worth of Breck's tulip, daffodils, allium for next spring.  That's lots of $, but looking forward to the bright colors when I get back from Texas.
The bnb'ers checked in after 10.  Hope they enjoy their stay.  Darn ole Keelie ... ate a cucumber.  What so I do???  I didn't even know we had that big of cukes growing ... and I have been checking.

FM and study

SI started buns at 5 and made 2 batches this am.  Only 1 of 4 packages sold.  But all my 11 flowers bunches sold.  I should have taken a picture.  There were 8 with a red white and blue theme. There were 3 with dark sunflower and foliage. 2 of 4 asparagus sold, 2 of 8 pestos sold, and a bunch of bars.  Before Bible study I got the upstairs cleaned.  8 gals were here for Bible Study.  Teresa, Darlene, Pat, Sharon, Ginny, Jenn, Mary Kay and myself.   Nice bunch.  Farmer's Market quit about 5:45 because storms were forcasted.   Denny had transition meeting at 7.  I just chilled and did nothing all night.

Surprise!!

I slept until 7:45.  Sweet.  Denny was ready to walk out the door.  In the am I got the bnb cleaned.  I texted Kim to come for coffee is she could and said, "No need to clean-up ... CAYA  (come as you are).  After I moved all chairs etc so I could vacuum upstairs, the door bell rang.  I was hoping for Kim, but to my surprise Pat and Dureen N. were standing outside the door.  So fun to visit with them for a couple hours. Denny came home and we just sat in the yard and talked, but the time was too short.   Next was the last ball game for Anabel.  The 2 Odebolt teams joined forces and played a game.  They had pizza afterwards.  At 8:45 the Jensens and I carried stuff from Missy's last year's second story room to her next year's first floor room right next to the office.  I think we got it all done.  Great Job.  Denny came home from the ball game and made a check list for cleaning the bnb.

Vote

Full day.  Mandy called after her night at work.  She has 2 more nights shifts until maternity leave.  I made peanut butter bars, brownies, and banana muffins.  I finished planting all the bulbs and made a Mexican casserole for supper.  About 4, I drove into vote and pick up some garlic for pesto and I got peppers for hot poppers.  Jensens were painting across the road. Denny and I finished bending 7 cattle panels for supports for the flowers.  Phillip said I could make use of them.   Kids played here.  Denny and I made pesto for the farmer's market.  He and Grands put stick pins on the map showing where bnb guests have been from.
Missy's Central reunion a couple weekends ago.

Home then ball

Slept until 6.  I kept doing things all day, but nothing really noteworthy.  It was good to get a call from Mandy today.  Tonight is the 4th work night in a row, then only 2 more work nights before maternity leave.  A deer walked thru the CSA area while we visited.   I finished the sheets for her bassinet.  I added velcro to love seat sheets.  I helped Tim check out, then started washing the sheets.  We got a new booking for Friday.  I picked some asparagus and lilies.  I straightened the linen closet by Luke's room and washed a load of jars for the FM.  I probably won't go to St.  Joe.   When Denny came home we started bending cattle panels for flower garden.  At 6:45 we headed to Odebolt.  TWO games 10 feet apart, so we could watch both of them.  At home we finished bending 4 cattle panels and put them over the flower beds.

Shower

I slept until 7:30.  Hurrah!!  There is nothing more fun that watching Grands run down the drive way to meet us to go for donuts.  Anabel came with her golden hair streaming behind her.  Denny and I  ate outside for lunch then he took the pickup and bike for a ride. I went to Faith and Schulyler's wedding reception.  I had taken 12 bouquets of flowers to church.  Chilled at home in bed watching tv, keeping laundry going,  and thinking about reading a book.  Missy and Phillip started painting the corn crib yesterday.   It really looks good!

Parade

Unbelieveable I slept until 7:36.  Fun full day!!   As I sat and enjoyed the sister 4 way phone call this am, I noticed 2 visitors romping around on our deck.  I probably should have fed them when I was over at the Jensens taking care of the pups the last 2 days.  The mamma cat probably knew that I usually put out food, so she brought 2 of the 6 here.  Cute to watch, but there is not a high livability rate at this farm place for kitties.   I went out to pick flowers for Faith's party.  Anabel came over on her bike to clean out the hot tub. Now that was a job.  The boys brought over sandwich meat and we ate, cleaned up and went into the parade to hand out water bottles.  Bergmans got a new to them army hummer to  pull the water wagon.  The kids and I visited the creation bus.  It was really good, but we had to wait a long time and my handset skipped.  Denny went to more paint for Jensens who were painting the corn crib.  When we got home, Mary Kay picked up Anabel and me and we went to Prairie Peddlar.  Anabel said Mary Kay and I just got flowers, flowers, flowers.  The doings over there was really nice.  Anabel played on the jumping games, basketball shooting games with Sophi J.  At home Jensens were still painting.  I finished the bouquets for tomorrow and Denny started the grill.  About 8 we had pork burgers, potatoes, potato peelings, corn casserole, lettuce salad, and ice cream with crushed candy.

Many things kept me going

Up too early.  Started to read a book, but thought I would be too convicted of my blessed life.  I am so thankful for all God has given me.  I washed towels from CSA barn, I mowed the lawn, I took trash out of CSA barn.  I sat and pondered what to do next.  Oh, I just now remembered I left 2 plants soaking in some miracle grow.  I also forgot to walk R&B the second time yesterday.  So I went over and did that. About 1:30 I headed into IG.  At Cenex they were celebrating an anniversary and the gal pumped my gas ...  Plus the 5 5-gallon gas tanks.  Crossed the street and got some sale items.  Next to Bomgaars, the Dollar General, Selections had the bnb map ready, then to Foodpride Finally to Old Town to put some label on some bottles.  At 5 I headed home.  Denny decided not to bike down too Arcadia where a baseball game started at 7.  It was fun watching Evan play.  Home and I got my best nights sleep in 10 years.  10 pm until 7:36 with only one trip at 3:07 and then back to sleep.  PTL  Wonder how I can do it again????
Centerpiece if from Kendra's baptism, I used it with lily runner and lilies from garden for Bible Study.  It is so pretty.

FM

I started making onion-dill buns about 5 and got 2 batches done this am.  I went over to give R&B a walk.  The Christmas gift of leashes work so well.  Those dogs can just run and explore and it is easy to draw them back.  I put together 8 vases of flowers for FM.  The dahlias are really pretty, but shorter stems.   Denny helped me carry the floral love seat into the sunroom so I could make some sheets for the sleeping space.  Got 'er done, but I need velcro to help the sheet stay up.  I added the baptism centerpiece to table in sunroom for Bible study.  About 1 when I was bagging the rolls, Tim came for bnb.  He unloaded about 75 18x24 frames for aerial farm photos.  Before he left some gals were here for study.  Teresa, Pat, Mary Kay, Sharon, Ginny, Jenn and me.  After study I aske MK if she was doing anything special or if she would want to come to FM with me.  It was great fun to have her join me.  There were lots of people for the Theater fundraiser.  They ran out of the 250 steak sandwiches.  It was so fun just to sit and visit with MK and see all the people.  Missy and Phillip had left about 5 to drive to the Twin Cities, They got to Minn Jo's and then walked to the stadium.  6 rain ponchos saved the day!!  Anabel was pretty happy that the made history ... the longest rain delay.  They did get replacement tickets for the Labor day game.  And they didn't have to suffer thru a 5 hour late start ... then a 9-0 game loss.   How cute is that little Rose wearing a  hand -me-down Brooks Twins baseball hat!!!!!  And her mamma looks so happy!   Just sweet.

Weed / Ball / Sunshine

I weeded from 9-3.  Uffta!!!  But I did get pretty much thru.  Also, planted most of the bulbs.  Now if they will just grow.  Before weeding I made brownies, cream cheese coffee cake, and finished Becky's cherry jam.  Also I finished getting the bnb ready.  Mandy came to Odebolt to watch Anabel's game.  Fun to watch her hustle.  Denny rode the bike to Odebolt from M31.   Mo Jo's got a new kitty.  Sunshine!!  Early b'day present for Kane.  So cute!!

Sc trip

It was just a nice day.  Missy picked me up around 7:45 and we took D54 to SC.  It went well until road construction and a detour about 10 miles from SC.  We made it to her Lasik eye appointment by taking gravel roads.  Nice day shopping, no big purchases, stop at Tiefentallers, and Remers in IG.  Home for a quick nap.  A&B came over before the game and we shortened the romper straps and took the sleeves off a Twins tshirt.  When Denny came back from work and haircut we drove to LV and h rode his bike to Breda.  Fun to watch Evan play and 2 parents coach.

Nice bnbers

Eli wanted to say Good bye before he left.  Cute family.  I spent the morning cleaning and doing laundry.  I weeded alittle in the afternoon and tried to figure out the best place to plant the Michigan Bulb order.  Bath and head to Odebolt to watch Anabel play ball.  Then we took the team and went to the Varsity game vs. Holstein.  Denny went to a windmill meeting.

Sunday June 18 Father's day

Great day!!  I went out and got some flowers for church.  Missy was at a Central class reunion and I was in the church nursery.  6 precious little ones, plus Jaci and Elise to help.  They had a taco bar fund raiser for a Haiti Mission trip after church. 8 weeks of flowers -110.  Total raised in auction over 2000.  Isaiah and Amanda came out to look at flowers.  I headed to the Sauk Trail.  Denny had started biking at 1:30.  I met him about 15 miles from where we left the vehicles.  He had gotten calls from the kids.  Totally he biked 50 miles, I went 30.  Uffta!!! that's a long way!  Missy invited us over for fancy cheese and crackers.  out in the back yard.  It was so nice.  Thank you Jesus for my wonderful husband.

Kendra's baptism

I didn't feel well last night.  I started weeding the lily row.  Lots of big weeds.  Eli came out to help me and his company kept me going when I really felt like just quiting.  I did get the whole row weeded,  but I ended up using the clippers and cutting the big ones that didn't come out with a pull.  We went to Kendra's baptism. beautiful hand made dress, shoes and the prettiest jeweled hairband.  The baptisim was at 2:30.  We took the Jeep to Odebolt before.  The reception was at 4:30 at Crawford park.  Great Mexican food. Fun to see and experience.   Beautiful sunset and rainbow at night.   We cleaned the house.

So fun to have bnb

Lord, thank you for this day!!  I spent most of the day working on weeding the forests.  Nice visit in am with bnbers.  Missy was going to visit Ranae in IG, but Ranae is still in Carroll hospital, so Missy walked over for coffee.   I went to IG to meet with Jerry at Selections.  He is going to get the map ready.  At night I kept weeding.  Denny came out and visited.   I had 5 different things to digest and it was too many.

Cute Grand nieces and nephews::

Farmers market

Beautiful Early Morning and I had lots I could do, but first to the Dose garage sale.  :)  AND when I stopped at the HS Julie put a new screen on this Chromebook.  I did buy a map at Dose and large picture frame to put it in, Hopefully Selections will help me finish  putting it together.  Mandy and Jason are in SD on their way to a Wyoming Big Horn 100 miles run that Jason is doing with a friend.  They left yesterday after her doctors appointment and finding out the birth is not imminent.  Jason has checked out available hospitals along the way.  :)
9 gals were here for Bible study.  Sue, Teresa, Darlene, Elfrieda, Ginny, Pat, Sharon, Lydia,  Good FM.  At home we mowed.  New bnbs got here just when we were finishing.  Should be fun to have them and their 3 little ones.  They told us when they booked that they are relatives of Bergmans and Denny wrote back to say we are right in the heart of Bergman territory.

tackle weeding

Oh, my lots of weeding.  I worked all morning on basement cleaning and upstairs organizing.  It was a quarter to 2 when I started weeding.  Uffta!! for the weeds.  I hoped for a miracle.  Nope, just work and little improvement.  Denny came home and finished planting the garlic that he and Brooks started last night.

Can you dig it?

Up and started cinnamon rolls.  Then I went out and weeded again.  Brooks came out when he got up.  I finished weeding the whole rectangular flower bed and transplanting some sunflower seedling in spaces where the rabbits/cats uprooted the baby plants. We took D54 to Danbury then Oto, then to the dig site south of Anthon.  It was pretty interesting to see.   The area was marked off in one miter squares.  The diggers worked on going down one miter by one miter by one miter one slice at a time.   If their shovel hit something it was marked with a flag on a wire.  Then as the artifact was uncovered a measurement tool was used that gave the gps in longitude, latitude and elevation.   They liked the cinnamon rolls I brought.  At home we took naps.  Missy called and was interested in some help mowing.  She still feel pretty crummy.  Denny came home early thinking he needed a new phone because his wouldn't charge.  Some PB blaster helped make the connection.  We went over to mow after Denny got the new belt on the Dixon.  Denny had a transitional meeting at 7.  Nice visit with Deb, bnb.

Pictures of shower game ... Try to figure out what is in this diaper!!!!  smell, feel, taste.  Can you dig it?
