Saturday July 3

The waffles for breakfast were a treat. About 9 we headed out to see court houses. We saw 8 today: Webster City ( Hamilton), Eldora (Hardin), Grundy Center (Grundy) , Marshalltown (Marshall), Toledo (Tama), Vinton (Benton), Independence (Buchanan), Waterloo (Black Hawk). When we stop we usually scope out the town square. Most of the court houses are (unlike Ida Grove's) situated on the town square. At Eldora I looked at a salvage shop/consignment store and bought a wicker table and two chairs. No room for it on the motorcycle, but I hope to pick it up on a visit to Parkersburg later this summer. We ate Chinese at Vinton. We've been asked which is our favorite court house. Actually they all start to mesh together. The draw of grandchildren kept us moving and we got to Parkersburg about 5. Supper was spicy spaghetti and ice cream cones. Then we watched the sidewalk race track. Such fast bikers and runners!! Nice to stay at the Jensen's bed and breakfast.
