Wednesday April 3

Missy and I rode the school van up KISC to play fuutsall with 5 other women.  Such a fun time.  Anabel checked with her teacher and is joining me in visiting an orphanage.  Michelle gave us a ride home, but traffic was stopped and so we tried to take another route to Sue's house. And more stopped traffic.  We ended up going back to Missy's and taking a taxi  BUT Sue's house is so remote Missy took her bike ahead of our taxi and to lead the driver to Sue's house.  His comment was,"She is Very Strong."  He said it about 3 times as she was speeding up hill and down hill leading his taxi by half a block thru curvy, bumpy, gully, pot hole filled streets with speed bumps.  I agreed!!!  "She is VERY strong!" We got to Sue's and Missy made arrangements to have the taxi pick us up at 3 pm.  Off Missy went on her bike to language class.  Now is was mostly uphill to get to the guest house where she met with her Language instructor everyday.  Sue and Joel have a Junior in HS staying with them until April 17. She is from Ridgeway, Colorado and knows Sue and Joel from church.  In July she bought her ticket to take 2 weeks off of school to help in the N. orphanage that S&J work in and raise support for.  Quite an amazing young lady.  She and Sue bought beads, etc. yesterday and had 3 different sessions of jewelry making.   First with the girls, then boys, then adult women who help at the orphanage.  Right now I believe there are about 50-80 children that stay there.  Their school is across the street and their church is just a little up the hill.  Beautiful children.  The place looked clean, the children happy and cared for.  The facility was adequate for the number of children and they really enjoyed the jewelry activity.  The children are on a 2 week break between terms.  Very fun.  Those deep dark eyes of the children just mesmerized me.   Happily, our taxi showed up at the right time and off we headed home.  Phillip has spent the last 4 days dealing with a skin rash that hasn't improved and so he went to a doctor today.  4 medicines.  Hopefully, they will take effect soon and completely.  I fixed some of the food I had gathered for supper.  Avocados and tomatoes and onions,  Green salad, carrots and italian dressing,  Garlic bread and left over spaghetti sauce, Sauteed mushrooms and onions.  Knorr Vegetable soup and rice.  Phillip, Missy, James and I ate and talked at the outdoor table while the kids watched a video.  After kids were in bed the parents packed for the trek that we are going on.  We leave Friday  am on an 8??? hour (N. time??) bus ride out of the city to Pokaro.  We spend the night in the trekker tourist town and get on a shorter ride to the start of the trail.  We will be gone 4 nights on the trail, staying in tea rooms?? every night.

He reads a lot of books!!!
