Denny left at 7:30 to see Howard. That's early for him, Usually it is 7:45 I went out and had devotions by the garden. Howard came at 8:30 to pick me up. We headed to SC for his eye appointments. First though I needed to visit Food Pride and see if I could interview the employer for my Summer school class. No, then to my second choice, I left the paper with interview questions at the bank. Dad mailed a letter. In Sioux City we stopped and got 4 Knock out roses at Earl May. He said he wants them planted at the front of the house where Anabel planted roses. He wanted bright red roses for her. Next on the list was getting fireworks. Diane is coming with young John and he wants fireworks for then. He will use what doesn't get fired off on August 4 for the 100 year barn party. We went to eat at Perkins and waited to be seated. I guess it took too long for someone to seat us, so after a while Howard said,"We're leaving here." Out we went and we drove to IHOP. We walked in the door and the guy seated us right away. Howard had pancakes and I had a steak sandwich. We were at Howard's eye appointment at 1 and they got us right in. We were scheduled for 2. His eyes have not changed very much in the 4 years since his last check up. He had not wanted to order his new lenses there because the gal is crabby. Luckily, he didn't need new prescriptions. His old glasses will do just fine. They will sent him a post card next year reminding him that he needs an appointment. But I think it could wait a few years before he has his eyes checked again. We were leaving the eye doctor about the time we should be getting in for our scheduled appointment. We stopped and got gas a Correctionville. because is it 1 cent cheaper. In IG there was no one to interview so we came home. Mandy worked 7 am to 3 pm in emergency room today. She came to our apartment and took a nap. At night Denny was tired. I worked on interview questions and other assignments.

For over 50 years my mom, Bernice Newhouse, kept a journal, usually in spiral notebooks with the year written on the outside. Mom died in April 2008. In December 2008 my son, Luke, tried to get me into the 21st century with a blog site. This is kind of in remembrance of Mom and an update for my kids of my day to day life. Nothing exciting or noteworthy...I'm just thankful to God for all He has given me. What a great Lord we have.
