We've waited for this day. We left at 5 to head to Omaha to have a consultation with the orthopedic surgeon. Mandy rode along with us. She works tonight at 11 so she slept a lot after telling us about her great weekend wedding in Minneapolis. Dr. Fitzgibbon looked at x rays and had more taken with Denny standing up to compare right with left ankle. He wants more testing to be done and we meet again in 3 weeks (June 25) with another doctor to give Denny a good reading on the pluses and minuses of fusing the ankle and ankle replacement. Surgery will probably be the middle of July. 5 weeks of no weight bearing, 5 weeks of boot, and other 5 weeks of something. Denny had a c scan and they measured and documented the vein and artery ability to carry blood in legs. We left for home about 12. Denny went back to work when he got home. I started on my summer school classes and worked until 7. Denny had gotten a haircut and groceries after work. This is night 2 of VBS. The kids are so tickled that ..."Mom is leading game time." Phillip is getting bath tub from folks ready to rinse off green and salad harvest tomorrow am. I am coming down with that sore throat that Denny had earlier.Beth S. made Denny a cake for his birthday.
For over 50 years my mom, Bernice Newhouse, kept a journal, usually in spiral notebooks with the year written on the outside. Mom died in April 2008. In December 2008 my son, Luke, tried to get me into the 21st century with a blog site. This is kind of in remembrance of Mom and an update for my kids of my day to day life. Nothing exciting or noteworthy...I'm just thankful to God for all He has given me. What a great Lord we have.
